The goal of the organization is to inspire children through the power of sports. This is a large multi- sport campus on about 10 Acres in the North Austin Neighborhood of Chicago. They offer Indoor Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball and It's not just a league sports, it's more like a community sports complex and a youth development hub. There's non-sports programing too such as education, wellness classes and even e-sports and game design. Now here's the best part. Through the companies nonprofit they're dedicated to helping underprivileged children with low cost and even free sports programs. In their core mission no child should have to drop out of sports due to lack of finances. The facility is beautiful and it can be rented out for events, training and tournaments. It's a great concept. Every city needs something like this.

Someone from a nearby soccer business warned me that if I parked there, my car could be ticketed or booted and told me to move quickly. I immediately ran back, but in less than 30 seconds my car was already booted. The situation felt very aggressive and left little to no room for error. It gave the impression that enforcement is being handled in a way that catches people off guard rather than giving a fair opportunity to correct a mistake. I would strongly recommend being extremely careful when parking here or avoiding the area altogether unless you're completely sure about the rules.

It has multiple baseball fields and other sports spaces and it also has a natatorium. There are a lot of activities that take place at this park year-round, some of which take place in the quite large field house. What's especially cool about this park is that it has its own orchestra! No, really. The Chicago Citywide Symphony Orchestra is an all-volunteer, community orchestra that rehearses and plays here. The orchestra has been in existence for 75 years as of 2022, and I'm really hoping to take in a performance sometime soon. Because Jefferson Park has a lot of things happening, I'm going to try to keep up with the happenings here. It's not so far away that it would be a pain to get to, there's parking nearby the park (paid and maybe unpaid?), and green space is always appreciated!

The room itself seems super old and the fixtures and ceilings remind me of another century. There is a stage and an adjoining room for smaller meetings. Their willingness to listen and make things right says a lot about how they care about their members. Would love to see higher weights there. 2) The smith machine next to the squat racks right in front of the studio room should be removed or moved to another area and replaced with another squat rack. The squat platform in the corner is fine but the deadlift section of it needs to also be removed. Takes up too much space and if someone is squatting, you cant use that section. 3) People will use benches, sweat all over them and leave without wiping them down.(I get that's not on management but its unsettling to say the least) 4) They close early on holidays. This was never a thing until covid. And tbh I have had to pay drop in fee at another gym a few times due to them closing early(3pm). 5 or 6pm may be a better time. Overall its a good place to workout, and it is pretty clean as well. I cant hate on management at all. They do their best and are always kind and helpful, which goes a long way in my book. And due to this place being near my home, I will continue to give them my business and will give them a higher rating once some or all of those issues are addressed.

Hard to think of a more old-timey baseball team name than the Gary Rail Cats. It's hard not to get a Chicago dog to eat while you're warching the Chicago Dogs play, but those are only okay at this venue, so I would suggest splitting one among your group as a sort of appetizer and ordering something else for your actual food there. And of course, beer. Seats are comfortable, and the size of the stadium makes everything easy to get to. Less than thirty seconds from a front row seat to a bathroom. Which were still decently clean in the 8th inning. Yes, they have adjacent parking for $3. But the last time we used it, it took us nearly an hour to exit with the traffic management situation. So consider the real cost of $3 plus a little piece of your soul that you will never get back. Since then, we park in one of the nearby structures. If you park just across the highway by all the restaurants, you can stop in for a bite to eat or a drink and get the $20 charge validated down to nothing. That parking is about a fifteen minute walk to the field. But it's an easy walk. And walking past everyone sitting in their cars at the Impact Field parking structure, knowing you are a free human being-- well, that is priceless.

Our group had a box upstairs, so we had unlimited food, beer and wine. The price was right and the food was good! Not a huge spread but a good one. Pasta and pork tenderloin were stand outs. Also a hot dog bar because it's a baseball game.
