Was not expecting what I saw inside. From the outside it looks like an old dingy building. Definitely not the same on the inside. Clean, well maintained cages and practice area. Equipment does not look dated, everything from T's to nets are in great shape. I was expecting things to look all patched up with duct tape and loose rope. There is about 6 cages, looks like 3 of them have pitching machines. I would recommend calling in advance to reserve. We walked in on a Tuesday evening and they only had one cage available without a machine. $30 for a half hour and $55 for and hour. Will definitely be coming back here to help my kiddos train. read more

Bash has recently been partnering with elite baseball training. It's a great idea for them as utilizes the bash facility combined with training however in my experience it has not worked at all in our case. I will explain below. Bash as a facility is fine I would give it maybe 3 stars compared to frozen ropes it's not really the same but for the city it's fine. As for Elite baseball training I give them Zero Stars, they don't have yelp presence but since the are partnered with bash. So average is about 1.5 starts I'll round up to 2 stars. I explain below. The Elite / Bash partnership needs to be organized better and it would be better organized by people at Bash I believe. I explain our situation below. So far my experience with elite baseball training at Bash Academy has been terrible. We signed up for a winter camp and took our money but then cancelled the camp. Justin promised a 1.5 hour hitting lesson for my son in lieu of camp money, we showed up and they knew nothing about at bash. This guy Travis came over and help for 1/2 hour but he said it was never scheduled but we have email confirming the lesson from Justin Stone. So most of the lesson of 30 minutes was him trying to get a hold of Justin, he get's a hold of him and he said yes they had something scheduled. He then said at end of 1/2 hour we can do a 1 hour lesson free of charge, my wife sets it up at bash today we show up at 2:30. First thing guy says at bash is that Travis is going to be late as he's stuck in traffic. It's Sunday afternoon "no traffic in chicago". He calls back and says traffic is really bad and won't make it. There is also one other party waiting on Travis as he booked a lesson at same time 2:30. So they were double booked on Travis and no shows both of us. So three strikes your out elite baseball. 1 strike cancelled camp, 2nd strike nobody knows anything as Stone never tells anybody 3rd strike Travis shows on lesson the even double booked it. You can teach hitting or baseball all you want but if you don't show up or you are late or your lazy and disorganized than it sends the wrong message to the kid getting the lesson. I won't sign up for elite baseball training again or any camp they do. You have to have integrity in the process of doing camps and lessons otherwise it does not matter whatsoever about what training you provide. read more

BASH is perfect for what I need. I played D1 college baseball, and now continue in a few of Chicago's summer leagues with friends. We come in every so often to hit or throw, and we love it. It's not glamorous. There are no flat-screen TVs in the lobby or glass-staircases, only what you need to improve your game. They have pitching machines, L-screens, batting tees (the same type we used at my college, which I liked), and of course balls/bats for you to use. They also have a decently sized open-field area for ground-balls or throwing around. It's not big enough to take full infield for adults, but for kids I can see you setting up a few bases and using it. There are also always instructors here who seem friendly enough. I'm not sure what the deal is because they don't wear BASH shirts, they work for Elite baseball. From the post below me I guess they are two separate businesses who have partnered up. The instructors are all great guys though, and a few have offered to throw with me or toss me some BP in their spare time. Prices are decent, but better than I expected for being in the middle of the city. TL;DR Friendly staff, all you could need to improve your game and none of the extra BS other places try to sell you. read more

My son and daughter have been practicing baseball and softball at BASH for close to two years. The facilities include half a dozen batting cages and a large open area for practicing fielding. The instructors are very knowledgable and provide effective instruction for players of all ages and the staff is very friendly. read more

Have taken lessons with Justin & Elite, great instructors, very knowledgeable, & great with kids.
