I've seen many large-scaled kids indoor playgrounds on Blippi's videos as my younger one is quite obsessed with his YouTube channel. Finally, there is one located in the northwest side of Chicago and it is one-bus ride away from my neighborhood. I found out about the existence of "WonderPlay & Coffee" through a WGN segment and immediately got interested in taking my kids to check this place out. My 2-year-old son came with me since my 4-year-old was feeling under the weather. Stroller parking was marked clearly so we left it at the designated area. Check-in was straight forward, consisting of signing the waiver and paying the day pass fee ($20 per child). There would be a sibling discount, $16 per sibling, if I were to bring my older one as well. That pass also allowed an in/out privilege for the day during the cafe operation hours, and I thought that was a generous thing to do. Socks were required to enter the play area. My son was hesitant to enter at first due to his shyness, but soon he was just everywhere and going from one thing to another! I was glad he had fun with the giant jungle gym and also played with an older boy of his brother's age. We were there for about 3 hours until he got slightly tired and it was also his usual nap time. The cafe food and beverage offerings were also great. I noticed there were many ube-centric items and I happened to like ube. With that said, the ube crossaint was delicious, and so was the guava lemonade! The barista who served us was super friendly and brought the food and drink to our table. "WonderPlay & Coffee" left me with a positive impression and I will be bringing my older son for some fun, of course, after his recovery, next time. I know they sell monthly/annual membership, and I am considering purchasing it if we see ourselves come often enough. Some parking is available for patrons yet spaces are limited. Nevertheless, CTA 77 bus (Belmont) has a stop directly in front of the venue and Belmont Blue line station is a couple of blocks east.

My kids had SO much fun here. Tons to do for all ages. Even my husband got into the jungle gym for a bit. Love that adults are free but also siblings pass is discounted. They offer so many events and classes here. There's no shortage of things to do here! It's also HUGE and the best part - they serve coffee & drinks! They truly cater to everyone (parents included with the caffeinated drinks). The price is reasonable considering it's for all day play. The staff here are all wonderful, drinks are great and reasonably priced & so clean here. Definitely recommend & will absolutely be back!

Wonderplay is a fun place overall, but it can get a bit overstimulating. Between the bright colors, loud music, and constant activity, it's not exactly the spot to relax. That said, the Ube Latte was actually pretty good--surprisingly smooth and flavorful. If you don't mind a high-energy environment, it's worth a visit, but it's not for everyone.

What's not to love??! Air conditioning. Toy grocery store and kitchen. Three story playground. Art classes. Library . Coffee. WiFi that actually works (yes even with your video on zoom). Bought a month pass and loving it. Cannot say enough good things about the good vibes. Love local businesses but this one really does go above and beyond!!

We don't live close to the area but commuting from the loop to Avondale was pretty easy..this place is close to the Belmont blue line stop. The place is pretty organized and clean and you don't have to do a reservation and the entry fee is around $22. Not bad considering you can stay there the whole time till they close or you can come in and out. They also offer art classes but we weren't able to participate this weekend since they had a private event. The cafe offers good pastries from Umaga bake house and this place is Filipino owned so plus to support local businesses and the Asian community. This is a great place for active toddlers and mammas that can use caffeine fuel while playing.

WonderPlay & Coffee is an amazing indoor playspace. My toddler loved everything. They have a variety from pretend play, book corner, jungle gym with two slides, and art room. They truly have something for every kid! There's plenty of seating to eat. They even serve coffee and food. We will definitely be back! They have daily play passes, monthly and yearly memberships. At the entrance, they have tables/chairs and many cubbies for shoes/coats. Make sure you have socks as shoes must be removed in most of the play areas. A waiver needs to be filled out in order to participate. I liked that you could do a paper version, use a tablet, or scan a QR code and do it on your phone. That helped the line move fast! They have a little toddler section, a basketball court, soccer area, gymnastics area, and slides! So, there's something for littles and the big kids...and they are sectioned off. There are benches in between all areas for parents/grownups to sit. The party room has an area to set up food and then the area with tables. I loved that it was a private event. I'm assuming this is an available option after hours, as this party was at 7PM. My daughter had so much fun and wants to have a party there now. If we were in the area, we'd love to check out their classes and other offerings. They also have a free parking lot which is a huge plus in the city!

I've seen Fit City Kids, having lived fewer than two miles away, but this was our first visit and it was great. The entrance fee wasn't bad, especially since one can stay for the full open play time. They have several different areas for play. There is a basketball court area, a play soccer field, gymnastics space, and an indoor playground. There's also a small area that is specifically designed for children aged three and under, although we were told that kids can play in any section (except for the bounce house, which is for the private parties). Our one year olds mostly played in the soccer area, having fun just running around. There's one half of the place where you can wear shoes or not (the basketball/soccer areas) and then in the other half you may not wear shoes. There are one or more party rooms in the back of the facility. (I'm not sure if they overlap parties or not; there were four happening on the day we were here.) Food is not permitted in the facility except for in the party rooms or in the front "lobby" area. They have a few snacks for sale, and based upon the water I bought for my babe the prices don't seem ridiculous. I really appreciate that they don't appear to have any restrictions on bring your own snacks and water, just asking that you respect the areas in which you can eat them. They don't have a water fountain (unless I just wasn't looking in the right places) so bring your own drinks. One downside is that I found only one changing station in the entire place. Don't look for it in the women's room (or probably the men's room, either, I'd expect) but in the individual gender neutral bathroom. With the number of children who might be here at any time and the age ranges they welcome, I was really surprised to see just the one. On the other hand, it was an actual changing table rather than a station that is bolted into the wall and folds down, which always make me a little nervous. They also don't have much space for parents to sit. There are some tables in the "lobby" and a few benches outside the various play areas, but it might be difficult for someone who needs a chair/seat, or someone who's disabled, especially if they want to be closer to the activity areas and keep an eye on their children. Another thing they need to work on is the parking lot. Their parking lot is really large, especially for Lincoln Square--and it's free!--so that's all to the good. Ideally they'd have straight parking spaces since that allows for the most spots; the lot is a bit narrow, so they've opted for diagonal with a few straight. But they need to paint the lot! Driving through this lot was difficult because people parked like they've never parked before. We will definitely return. There are several indoor playgrounds around and I'd like to try the different ones that offer entrance to kids as young as mine in part so we can figure out which are our favorites. But after my experience here I imagine we may be purchasing a membership in the future.

Can I do this without spending a fortune? Next Level checks all 3 boxes. The giant attraction of Next Level is a huge cargo net-type thing that kids love to climb through. It's pretty amazing. I've never seen another attraction like that. There's also a large play structure with stairs and slides and a zipline and tunnels and such. Another area has the popular giant foam building blocks. There are two large inflatable-surrounded trampolines. Next Level has a small play area for very little kids - the other attractions are probably too tricky unless your kid has a great sense of balance and agility. I appreciated that they had a small air hockey table available for $1 per play. The larger air hockey table is $2 to play. The seating area has mostly large picnic-style tables. Everything seemed very clean and well maintained. The bathroom even smelled like cleaning products, which is a great sign. The price is reasonable, but I docked a star because they don't allow outside food. The perfect play place allows for snacks to keep the kiddos fueled up. Still, my kids had a great time at Next Level. It's perfect for kids in the 4-6 age range.

This place is wonderful and the staff are so friendly/helpful. I have a 2.5 & 5.5 year old and they absolutely LOVE coming here to play. Great for when the weather is bad, but they also consistently have fun events every week as well as camps. When we had my son's Birthday here last August, it was one of the most low-stress and cost-effective options we could've picked. The kids had a blast, pizza was great, and we were able to add on things like extra drinks/snacks for very minimal cost. All we had to do was bring decorations and cake! The staff were very attentive and helpful throughout the entire party. Overall, Uppie Yuppy has been a wonderful addition to the neighborhood and I'm so grateful to have this option for my kiddos!

I guess my partner and I were the perfect candidates to find out because we got two young kids, and I knew our soon-to-be-3-year-old son would definitely have a blast there. It was good to know that our 9-month old infant boy wasn't charged with the full price of admission ($12.5 per kid, half-off for children under 1 and free for adults). The young man at the reception had us sign the waiver for each child and got us checked in efficiently. Socks were required for entry and shoes were asked to come off for everyone (shoe cubbies and coat hangers available). Inflatables, interactive games, role play areas occupied the majority of venue. There was a room dedicated for ages of 0 to 3. Our infant son was able to come down and to hang out with his older brother for a little bit. I saw there was a nursing station, equipped with a changing table, toward the back. That was a nice touch! As other Yelpers mentioned in their reviews, pizza by a slice, paletas, and other simple refreshments were for sale. However, eating and drinking would only be allowed in the designated dining space. There was a birthday party going on when we arrived. The party took place in their "movie room." All patrons were respectful and kids were supervised. Nevertheless, the only slight concern I had was the overall cleaniness. I believe the property was carefully maintained, yet the nature of kids running around and having their hands on everything had to be a tricky business. After all, this public space served the purpose for us and it was nice to have this establishment in our neighborhood. We appreciate having "Uppie Yuppy" close by. With that being said, we can visit it without having to think about the long car ride or hit the city traffic. They update the hours, upcoming activities, and party-booking status on their Instagram, and I certainly find it helpful.

The whole space is beautifully done--like truly thoughtfully designed, not just thrown together. The colors, the textures, the little house setups... everything just works. What I loved most though is how culturally rooted it feels without being overdone. The play food, the kitchen setup, the art on the walls--it all reflects a Latino-owned space in a way that feels natural, warm, and intentional. It actually made the whole environment feel more alive and meaningful. It's also just... calm. Which, if you have kids, you know is rare I could actually sit, breathe, watch them play, even get a little work done without feeling overstimulated. It's such a good alternative if you're trying to avoid the chaos of the bigger play places. There's a sweet little baby area, a building station, and the cutest play houses that my kids were completely locked into. It's one of the larger play cafes I've been to in the city--perhaps the only one that's bigger is in part because it's a co-working space. But Luna y Cielo has more play stations than that place. There's a couple play kitchens, various stations and tables for kids to play at or things to play with. There is an infant section in the front of the store that is for the littlest ones, aged 0-11 months. There's a nice library that holds books in both English and Spanish, in accordance with their business model. And they have a really nice, solid, incredibly well built little house for kids play in, with a little cot and some clothing for children to play with, as well as a small slide attached. I like that the house is built directly into the walls and of the building because that makes it sturdy and strong enough for parents to climb in after their littles if need be. There's a party room in the back, and they do rent the space out for parties. You have to take your shoes off upon entering so that the place can remain clean but you also need to bring socks, though they have socks here for purchase if you forget. There are a couple of bathrooms and also a couple changing stations outside the bathroom as well. If there might be improvements made, it could potentially be useful to have a quiet room in case some kiddos need to take a break from the play. I also wouldn't mind there being some places for caregivers to sit; they have a long bench along one side of the room, but some of it was covered with pillows which I felt bad removing and also it was not super duper comfy. I came for their Halloween party, so the price was different than the everyday price but I remember glancing at their rates and it wasn't bad, not out of line with other play places in the area. I do remember that siblings under six months can come for free. There is parking along Armitage on this stretch and though we were here on Halloween, I don't think it impacted the parking all that much--there was plenty, which I have been worried about when I've considered going. They have classes, programs, and other special activities so it is certainly worth following their instagram to keep informed about what's going on. I love that they have mommy and me Spanish classes; I really want to join these but I work during the Wednesday time and have a standing appointment during the Saturday time. But I love that they are here as a resource for families that are already bilingual and those that want to be. The place has had some struggles, and it doesn't help during the warm months I don't think when there are so many places to go and things to do. They have some snacks for purchase, and drinks as well. If you care for little ones, I'd suggest giving Luna y Cielo a visit and I believe they have memberships/packages/gift certificates, too.
