This is the cafe inside Harvey Mudd. Small but mighty like the school. They have hot and cold food and the breakfast burrito hit the spot.

I love coffee and consider this place to be consistently the best shop I've been to across all…read morestandards. Their roast is phenomenal, the staff is personable and knowledgeable, and their most recent remodel made every corner picture-perfect. I would highly recommend any of the specialty lattes, as they are well-thought out and are full of flavor. The wait is usually around 40 minutes from the packing house doors (a typical weekend line), but I have never regretted the wait, as the coffee is genuinely delicious.

Usually I go straight to the food reviews before ambience, atmosphere, staff and such etc., but my focus has reversed a bit starting with the atmosphere. The minute my family strolls in, we had this young lady totally stare down my family. I have not ever felt our presence would strike such an unwelcoming or unwanted tone from an establishment. The gentleman at the front counter was pleasant and made some conversation so my mood was put to ease slightly, but he was next to the mean girl and it was hard focusing on the order placement. Excuse the rant but that almost ruined my morning. We sat to try our lattes and it was astonishing to see smiles given to other patrons from a woman who nearly frowned the whole time we were there? This young lady was so rude to me and my children. I can only speculate and I'll keep what I feel off the grid for now. On to the positive stuff (2 stars) the lattes were very tasty. Unique flavor options, a few different types of food items to accompany the latte or teas. Our selection: ham and cheese croissant (mid), Courageous latte-Old Forester Bourbon, Brown Sugar, Organic Cream, Pink Salt- very good HOT. It's nice and clean inside. Iron & Kin, please remember, every paying customer should be welcomed into your establishment no matter what they look like. I mean, why did you start this business anyways? Wasn't it built on a dream for success, entrepreneurship, to serve the community?

It's not awful, but it tastes frugal. I arrived at Almond Haus Cafe (Claremont) on Sunday (around 12:20PM). Parking is easy. The lot is very big. My immediate impression of the location's interior is "abandoned warehouse." There's cardboard boxes lying about; the lights are dim & gloomy; and the furniture & walls looked old and poorly maintained. There were no customers, other than myself. Staff zipped out from the back when I'd entered. There's no self-service kiosks, so customers order at the counter. Staff is friendly and welcoming. After receiving my drink, Staff vanished into the back for the entire time. The drink took one minute and six seconds. Fast!! As mentioned, the Brown Sugar Milk Tea ($5.50) with Boba (additional 79 cents) is not awful. It's big, cheap, and thirst-quenching. Although the boba lacked any perkiness, I did appreciate its very small sweetness. Concerning the ambiance, it felt sad. Chairs had mysterious black stains, dust & webs gripped the windows' corners, yellow & aged plants lazed about, and lights stayed dimly lit like a haunted house. However, there's utility. Almond Haus Cafe (Claremont) has six electrical outlets. There's also customer internet with password; details on the plastic countertop. And there's a restroom for customers. In addition, the floors and tables are fairly clean. Overall, Almond Haus Cafe (Claremont) feels like a forgotten relic of time. At the very minimum, it's an adequate establishment. If you're searching for affordability and a place to study/work, there's potential. 3.3 out of 5
