Caffeine Haven or Caffeine Heaven?? One in the same I say... My first cronut experience (not my last), a Hot Toffee Crunch Cold Brew Latte that hits like no other, and a Cranberry Delight Refresher that lives up to its name! This combo made for one happy customer, let me tell you! Caffeine Haven is such a cute spot. You walk in and you can immediately tell you've just stepped into a warm, welcoming environment! They've managed to develop this really lovely and authentic community feel. Plus the decor is just too sweet. A bookshelf in the corner with some children's toys/games, little kiddie tables (too cute), and plenty of seating for the grownups too :) This place is really for everyone! Not only are the staff super friendly, but you know they know what they're doing as soon as you sip one of their brilliantly crafted beverages. The latte was my favorite. My friend ordered for us so I had no clue it was made with almond milk (I'm a whole milk girl.) But you know what, I didn't mind. It was out of this world good! Didn't overdo it with the cinnamon, it was just this perfectly sweetened and spiced warm goodness. As for the Cranberry Refresher, this was absolute perfection. Sweet and just slightly tart. Even as the ice melted, the flavor did not get diluted which is not usually the case with these types of drinks. Finally, the cronut...hello to my new friend. How I've never tried one until now I have no clue, but if they're all as good as Cafe Havens, damn... It was chewy, buttery, with that cinnamon sugar. Yum and yum, the perfect side to the delectable latte! Whether you're picking up or you decide to stay a while, you won't be disappointed! It doesn't hurt that it's only 3minutes away from a new local gem, Dollar Donuts! I highly recommend checking them both out! You won't be disappointed :) read more

I loved it here when it first opened. The coffee was great, always. Everyone was so nice. The last several times I've gone it it's gone downhill unfortunately. The coffee never is consistent. Sometimes it's good and other times it doesn't take good or the same. The ice was amazing when they first opened, that's something I loved. I feel like my drinks are never that type of cold they were when they opened. The past two times I went in the service just wasn't there. The young girls at the counter were flat out rude. When I asked a question the one blonde young girl talked to me like I was an idiot, when this isn't my first rodeo, especially at this place. Really rubbed me the wrong way. This was my local coffee shop when they opened, but has no longer maintained that title for me. read more

Super cute new coffee shop in Howell! Howell has been in desperate need of decent coffee that's not Starbucks/dunkin garbage. The current location listed is incorrect, I submitted a request to change it. They're on Rt 9 north at Georgia Tavern Rd. Right by the Stewart's Root Beer. Vibe is excellent, they are currently decorated for Christmas at it looks great. This is the perfect spot to catch up with a friend or meet for a date. Tons of drink options. I don't like sweet drinks so I opted for a latte. It was good, not great. I am going to try iced next time and see if I like it better. Service and atmosphere are a 5, latte was a 3.5 but honestly it's the best option around so I'll take it. (Disclaimer I'm a coffee snob). It looks like they do a bunch of events too. You would not expect to find a cafe like this in front of a gravelly parking lot, but here we are. Website: 5/5 The Caffeine Haven's website has the right amount of functionality, for the main page easily scrolls down to the About section and the menu items. The Business Information section also provides categories of each characteristic of the cafe. While it does have the fancy aesthetics, they do not betray the primary appearance of the cafe. Brand: 5/5 The aesthetics of the interior and exterior reflect a minimalist coziness that would typically reflect a cafe, including the whimsical, kid-friendly parts like the cartoon paintings on the walls and the table gnomes. You are also welcomed by the de facto slogan of the cafe: No Depresso, More Espresso. I would say that the brand overall, including the light green sign, definitely fits within the cafe's aesthetic, with nothing standing out. Ambiance: 4/5 Pertaining to the environment, the hard floor and walls can make the loud noise reverberate throughout the establishment. Nonetheless, I did not have a problem listening to the pop music play over the radio at a tolerable volume. The establishment had large amounts of space with the tables spaced out greatly. A fun aspect that the Caffeine Haven uses to help create returning customers involve miniature tables for small children to enjoy their meals. Indeed, they express joy at accommodating the ambiance for small children and pets. Service: 5/5 The staff made sure that everyone felt satisfied. Wait Time: 5/5 We experienced no interruptions during the wait time, nor any unnecessary delay. Latte: 3/5 I ordered the hot, 12 oz. tiramisu latte. Preparedness concerned, it had the appropriate amount of heat for a hot latte. The distinctive tiramisu flavor was definitely the most prominent part of the latte--too much so. I speculated whether an actual piece of tiramisu was melted to add the flavor, especially as I drank to the bottom of the cup. Worth The Money?: 4/5 The lattes, teas, and pastries reflect the coziness of the cafe with their uniquely Jerseyan twists--with the tiramisu latte as an example. They also reflect the kid-friendly aesthetics that accompanies the standard cafe aesthetics, for I can envision many lattes and teas being experimented on behind the scenes. The cafe sources their ingredients from local distributors, while also sourcing from larger, outside sources. I sincerely hope that as the establishment grows, it would accommodate more local sources. The Caffeine Haven has also become a sight for mothers to meet at as an extension of their Facebook Group activities. Indeed, if an establishment manages to incubate subcultures within its consumer base, then they help generate wealth for them. The miniature tables accommodates small children, which fits that loyal subculture and the kid-friendly theme. The future of the Caffeine Haven is they hope to open a second cafe and perhaps even a drive-through. I do have some personal suggestions. I would like the cafe to emphasize that they do offer plant-based milk. I am also curious as to what canvases they would put upon the wall. Another recommendation is to continue experimenting on lattes and teas revolving around the cafe, Jersey, and whimsical themes. I would consider this establishment worth its price somewhat. Rating: 4/5 Stars The Caffeine Haven is a cafe slowly building a reputation for itself, which I see hope for. If it is a haven for caffeine-lovers, then they have to set the coordinates before they could brave the torrential competition among cafe chains with no clear horizon in sight. Recommend To... Any families driving through the Howell highway--specifically those who also have small, short-haired dogs. I would not be too sure about breeds that most commonly produce allergies. read more

I really love the staff and the café in general. The seating is very chic and there is also child seating as well as board games and toys for you to bring kids! I will say I've gone twice and have not liked the coffee that I got. It was very acidic and watery both the iced and hot coffee that I've gotten. I still haven't tried any of their pastries. I'm hoping to try it one more time to see if I can find something that I like because I really do love the café and the location! read more

I was excited to have a coffee shop closer to home, so I came during their grand opening (today). They were quite busy but still very friendly. We ordered an iced latte with almond milk and a jit cold brew which was a mocha cold brew with chocolate foam. The iced latte was perfect, just a hint of sweetness from the almond milk. They use barista milk, which I am so happy about. I expected the cold brew to be super sweet, but we gave it a chance anyway and it was perfect. Sweet but not too sweet. They also use agave straws, which are compostable. This cafe keeps hitting all the marks, and they even make use of all local vendors for their baked goods, beans etc, which I love. Amazing coffee and cool vibe. It was very, very busy so I couldn't enjoy the wall decor but there was 2 amazing egg like chairs. I ordered the J.I.T. Came here with my family to try out a new coffee shop, the ambiance of it was great, immediately was welcomed and the coffee was delicious, I got a blueberry muffin and it's was sweet and soft, so good even my baby grabbed my muffin which ended up on the floor so it left me craving some more the staff is so friendly and there's even chairs for kids, toys and books. Leashed and friendly dogs are allowed to join you inside and relax, work, or just hang out with a freshly brewed beverage and baked snack in a warm and inviting environment. You can get everything from traditional dripped coffee, tea, espresso, and specialty drinks. The banana cream latte is excellent and they also have seasonal offerings. There are also a bunch of syrups, toppings, and non-dairy milk options to customize your drink. Freshly baked goods are a delicious treat to pair and give you a boost in your day. Dogs can also enjoy a pup cup which includes whipped cream in a paper cup. This is a kid-friendly place too with child-sized tables, toys, books, and a kids specialty drinks menu. I've gone out of my way twice in the last week so that I could stop here. The JIT Cold Brew is the most delicious coffee I've ever tasted. Every employee I've come in contact with has been so great. Welcoming and friendly. I took my daughters with me yesterday so they could try their "kid coffee" aka chocolate milk and my 5 year old said it's the best she's ever had.
