Came here randomly because the kids wanted donuts and Dunkin Donuts was closed (wasn't even 5pm). Didn't think much about it but when I walked in I was happily surprised. Shop is simple. Some tables, chairs, simple decor, coffee, and the star THE DONUTS. The shop closed at 5, but they still had a good selection of donuts to choose from. I ended up getting 12 - Boston cream, Napoleon Boston cream, coco pebbles, captain crunch, m&m, chocolate sprinkle, caramel pretzel, and glazed. OMG, the donuts were soft and yummy we almost ate all of the 12 donuts! BEST PART IS THEY ARE ONLY $1!!!!!!!! Like what?!!!!! Definitely a must go, and we shall be back to try the other flavors!!!!

$1 donuts! That's unheard of in 2025. It's no lie the donuts are $1 and plentiful. Go early to get the full selection because they open at 8am and by 8:10 I got the last Boston creme but I wasn't worried because there's so many others to pick from. The selection includes jelly, sugar, frosted, sprinkled, chocolate chip and more. They are so light and airy, not dense and heavy, like other donut shops. They replenish for the afternoon rush but when they're out they're out. Welcome to the neighborhood, Dollar Donut!

If life is a never-ending highway of contained chaos, then this donut shop represents the peace one can have despite everything else. Website: 8/10 While the website does abruptly open with an image of a neon sign, the Dollar Donuts Shop homepage does bring you down to a simple backstory, a basic menu, and a contact page. It is easy to read and navigate. While the menu does provide a good glimpse into the establishment, the backstory could use more pathos in terms of the inspiration behind Dollar Donuts. Brand: 9/10 The overall brand reflects off the name itself. Dollar Donuts Shop dedicates itself to sell donuts for one dollar each. The bright, electric blue-and-pink color scheme reflects the fun vivacity that can come with donut flavors. Concerning the de facto mascot, the astronaut on the website and the wall represents the business. While no immediate plans exist for the astronaut, I can see that he represents the establishment well enough to have an entire wall-painting. The food selection is determined by season and by any unique choices made by the owner. Indeed, you will find traditional flavors, like vanilla, strawberry, Boston Creme, and ones with sprinkles; along with unique ones that the children love which are the Fruity Pebbles and Cinnamon Toast Crunch flavors. Ambiance: 7/10 It is situated in the Regal Plaza on a busy highway in Howell. I definitely note the juxtaposition between the hectic highway near noon, and the calm interior of the shop. While the location works for the establishment, it is still a short place with hard floors and walls, so expect a lot of noise to reverberate throughout. Also, the tables and chairs can prove to be uncomfortably stiff. Coldplay playing over the radio definitely brought a calmness to the establishment. Service: 10/10 I would characterize the staff as having patience enough to offer alternative drinks, since orange juice and bottled water was not available, and to answer my questions--despite my soft voice and my noticeable face dandruff. I got to know a little bit more about the shop from the staff. Wait Time: 10/10 I experienced no interruptions or delays while awaiting my order. Food: 10/10 I ordered two Maple Bavarian donuts with blueberry juice. They sat behind the glass, already baked. They had a well-cooled preparedness. With every bite, they retained their soft, airy forms, and the custard did not pour out or disintegrate them. I also did not see a problem with the glaze since I did not need that many napkins to wipe my fingers. They had that sweet, maple scent reflective of the flavor. The donuts managed to have that maple taste and the custard enhances them. I was quite satisfied with the aftertaste. I can say that I enjoyed the donuts, for they have the type of value Dunkin' Donuts delivers. Worth The Money?: 10/10 As the highway is consistent chaos, this donut shop is chaotic consistency. Dollar Donuts works within its limits. I can see how the dollar donuts would work long term in the business' favor, since they would ensure that people manage to weather through inflationary times with creamy softness in their hands. Despite my issue with the ambiance, it does not outweigh my pleasant experience. If having tables outside can be an option, then I would like to recommend that as well. If the astronaut does become a notable mascot with a name, then he would represent the exploration of unknown reaches of the culinary galaxy. I would recommend to the owner to make space-inspired flavors, whether based on appearances (like black icing with star sprinkles) or history (like any of the foods astronauts ate while in orbit). Rating: 5/5 Stars I have hope for Dollar Donuts Shop in galactic proportions. You may not have hope for humanity, but you can certainly have hope in locally made donuts. Recommend To... Anyone negotiating along the busy highway and you wish for a respite from the hectic hustle-and-bustle. I also recommend this donut shop to anyone looking for a Dunkin' Donuts alternative--if I may be so bold.

My first cronut experience (not my last), a Hot Toffee Crunch Cold Brew Latte that hits like no other, and a Cranberry Delight Refresher that lives up to its name! This combo made for one happy customer, let me tell you! Caffeine Haven is such a cute spot. You walk in and you can immediately tell you've just stepped into a warm, welcoming environment! They've managed to develop this really lovely and authentic community feel. Plus the decor is just too sweet. A bookshelf in the corner with some children's toys/games, little kiddie tables (too cute), and plenty of seating for the grownups too :) This place is really for everyone! Not only are the staff super friendly, but you know they know what they're doing as soon as you sip one of their brilliantly crafted beverages. The latte was my favorite. My friend ordered for us so I had no clue it was made with almond milk (I'm a whole milk girl.) But you know what, I didn't mind. It was out of this world good! Didn't overdo it with the cinnamon, it was just this perfectly sweetened and spiced warm goodness. As for the Cranberry Refresher, this was absolute perfection. Sweet and just slightly tart. Even as the ice melted, the flavor did not get diluted which is not usually the case with these types of drinks. Finally, the cronut...hello to my new friend. How I've never tried one until now I have no clue, but if they're all as good as Cafe Havens, damn... It was chewy, buttery, with that cinnamon sugar. Yum and yum, the perfect side to the delectable latte! Whether you're picking up or you decide to stay a while, you won't be disappointed! It doesn't hurt that it's only 3minutes away from a new local gem, Dollar Donuts! I highly recommend checking them both out! You won't be disappointed :)

Along the hectic Howell highway, you will find a wondrous respite filled with a child's sense of…read morewonder. Brand: 5/5 Ice Cream on 9 is a small, ice cream shop in Howell Township, and has been in operation for close to 20 years now. The name has a simple, homey charm. The brand works with this establishment, for the bright, vibrant colors bring joy to everyone along the highway. Inside, the interior completely outweighs the exterior with its bright colors, but also the bright flashing lights. Website: 3/5 While I do appreciate the vibrant colors that drizzle upon the website, I have to maintain honesty when it comes to the outdated theme, which can make the website easily susceptible to cyberattacks. Nonetheless, I do enjoy see the header image of the establishment's front view welcoming anyone into the website. Ambiance: 5/5 The bright flashing lights come mainly from the arcade section, which can be helpful if you wish to avoid bright lights. The opaque tiles complement the bright colors well. A line of freezers have options of cakes and ice cream dishes. Despite this, the establishment is quite warm, which definitely helped acclimate us since the cold rain intruded upon us upon entering. To say that the establishment has enough space is an understatement, for the large space contains many well-spaced tables. Service: 5/5 The owner clearly cares about the establishment, even when it has an empty dining area, for the lights and the menu items are always cared for. Wait Time: 5/5 No interruptions or issues arose during our wait. Food: 5/5 Every menu item has its own personality, even the classics, with 100+ options to choose from. I ordered the small Coffee-Toffee shake, which definitely had the uniquely combined flavor of roasted coffee and sweet toffee. The form held well-enough, since it initially had a hard form to begin with, it slowly started to melt as I mashed it around with my straw. This suggests to me that the well-cared-for ice cream does not accumulate icicles or freezer burn. Worth The Money?: 5/5 The website does encourage people to submit their new ice cream flavor ideas, which suggests that the menu items have a democratized element to them. I myself took the opportunity to suggest a Howell flavor, after the Howell Township. Its flavor is a combination of apple (after the apple seen in the Howell Township seal) and maple (after the red maple trees endemic to Howell Township). I love it when menu items are named after the locations they are served in, and I would be very curious as to how the Howell ice cream shake would taste like. In addition to my new flavor suggestion, I also suggest updating the website to make it more competitive within the ever-shifting algorithm. Concerning the Coffee-Toffee, I always noticed how the the two words rhymed, but never had an opportunity to taste it until today. I can say that if Ice Cream on 9 manages to accomplish this feat, then it can accomplish many unique flavors. The warm interior managed to melt the shake quickly enough for me to enjoy it, and the service definitely helps you with the rows of glass counters showing the many flavors. My Coffee-Toffee shake had the appropriate amount of preparation for the wait time. The ambiance was perfectly captured by the website images, with great establishing shots that prepare you for fun and festivity. The bright flashing lights and the arcade section truly enliven the brand. My philosophy with local eateries is that if they wish to appeal to multiple generations, then they should always maintain that child's sense of wonder, that adult's sense of pragmatism, and that elder's sense of wisdom. In the case of Ice Cream on 9, they managed to encapsulate that child-wonder with their ambiance and brand. The jovial disposition of the owner matches the ambiance perfectly, and the wait time never felt tedious. I would absolutely consider Ice Cream on 9 my first choice when looking for a unique flavor, and the price of the shake was definitely worth it. Rating: 5/5 Stars If Ice Cream on 9 could stay in operation for close to 20 years, then I hope that its relevance will evolve with it. Recommend To... Anyone looking for a catering event of any kind, since the space will suffice you and there are plenty of flavors to choose from.

Website: 5/5 It seamlessly interconnects many styles of background and sections within their home page alone. The web page became easy to navigate and led me to various other parts of the site, including the Garden Center, the menus, the backstory, and the Harvest at Howell Road. Brand: 5/5 The backstory behind the Twin Pond Farm Market is that it started about 20 years ago, as an extension of the family-owned farm, to sell home-grown products into entrees and meals. They have expanded their products to include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert meals. The backstory gives the Farm itself a sense of poignancy with its roots with an Italian farmer who immigrated to the United States and his family who would manage it. The logo of Twin Pond Farm maintains that simple design with the right color scheme to make it stand out. As such, it always appears in any food-products made directly by Twin Pond Farm. The exterior has the welcoming sight of a red-painted wooded facade of a farm, introducing you to a stone-cobbled entryway into many varying parts, from the vegetable stands to the hardware store to the deli. When we stepped inside the deli, I appreciated the brown floor and the brown tables, particularly since this specific shade of brown felt very warm and welcoming. Ambiance: 4/5 The noise was expected with such a small area, however it did not become so bothersome that it interfered with an important phone call we had to make. The radio playing classic rock songs definitely fitted the mood of the market with a tolerable volume. While I did appreciate the table containing a random assortment of sweets, I did not think that it fitted any purpose and did take up too much room, especially for a part of the market that already makes so much use for so little space. Service: 5/5 The service attended to any of our needs without any problems. Wait Time: 5/5 The service did inform any customers with a sign stating that they may have to wait longer for their meals. The transparency gives the Wait Time a higher score. In my case, I did not have to wait too long for my order. Food: 4/5 I ordered the Hungry Man Special, which consisted of pork roll, cheese, eggs, hash browns, sausage, and ketchup beneath roll buns, along with orange juice. Every part of the dish was well-prepared without having too much grease. The buns did start to come apart and lacked the form needed to contain the ingredients from spilling onto my plate. The sausage definitely had the most profound flavor, giving this sandwich an overall savory taste. Indeed, all of the ingredients had their own flavor, giving the Hungry Man Special a blast of flavor. Wanting to reinvest in my Howell Township community via the local multiplier effect, I decided that I would also buy some Fig-Red-Raspberry-Orange-Ginger Jam--otherwise known as FROG Jam. Just like the Hungry Man Special, it was also packed with flavor, in which case it had a very sweet flavor with subtle amounts of spiciness. Worth The Money?: 5/5 The business works well with other small businesses, in the sense that farmers come to sell their products. Cultivators of the earth are the most valuable citizens, as Thomas Jefferson himself would say; and they show their value by cultivating from the earth many products for sale in the vegetable stands and in the deli. The innovatively down-to-earth selection of jams definitely helps Twin Pond Farm Market stand out compared to chain stores. I love unique food products like FROG Jam that use wordplay, and always look forward to seeing such items in any local eatery. The working class patrons give Twin Pond Farm Market hope. Indeed, there were union workers present treating the deli as their hang-out spot. If a market-and-deli could cultivate a culture within its space, then it would help create returning customers, which definitely works in its favor. I did note that while they did source fruits and vegetables from local farmers, they did source their meats from Boars Head. If I had any personal suggestions, it would be to also locally source any meats if possible. The market is not well-known for catering, but they do offer apple cider donuts for such occasions, and they do have a catering menu on their website. So perhaps they could offer more individualized catering options for specific events, like Birthdays or Graduations. Rating: 5/5 Stars I deeply regret not coming here more before it closes for the winter season. Recommend To...
