The Caffeinated Cat is an AMAZING concept, coffee shop and rescue initiative. I discovered them when we adopted a cat from Mayport Cats, Inc for our youngest daughter. At the time, Mayport Cats was the branch that handled the feral cat colonies out by Mayport Base (TNR, feeding, vet care & evaluation to see if any could be placed for adoption). My aunt occasionally volunteered and contacted us about a 9mth kitten, that had delivered her own litter of kittens and was available for adoption but had been overlooked at several adoption events. My husband and I went to meet Clover, we immediately knew she'd be the perfect fit for our daughter (and boy oh boy has she been) and brought her home that day. Included in her paperwork was information about The Caffeinated Cat and our entire family was so excited to learn such a place existed. Several of our children have chosen to make donations of food, toys and treats (for the kitty residents of the cafe) for their birthdays and other milestones vs receiving gifts......and of course, we always procure some human treats for ourselves while there. Lastly, they stepped up and stepped in when we were experiencing a situation with a stray that had been dumped in our neighborhood (unfortunately it's quite common here). He was a stunning muted Siamese that adored people and dogs, but seemingly hated other cats although it seems that particular trait was due to the stress of being dumped and insecure (once he was no longer a "stray" the issue resolved)my kids named him Pig due to his pink nose. I was caring for him but couldn't bring him into our home, as he kept charging the glass door, hissing and growling every time one of our cats walked by. Sadly, he showed up badly injured one morning.....after an obvious fight with another cat, seemingly having lost his eye. I was heartbroken for him, I knew he needed to belong to someone.....he was not feral nor adjusting to the lifestyle well and that point seriously injured. I contacted Mayport Cats/The Caffeinated Cat with the hope of getting some guidance/advice but they instead offered to take him into their care. He was renamed "Merlin" because his eye somehow magically reappeared after being seemingly gone for 3 days and he healed beautifully, I'm not sure if he's still a resident or has been adopted but The Caffeinated Cat is an amazing place, that offers a unique experience that benefits our community ....If you are a cat or animal lover, you should definitely stop by, grab a drink and pet a fur baby! **Including photos of Clover and Pig aka Merlin read more

I really can't say how great this place is! I got my Cat Luna there, she jumped on my shoulder and I knew she was the one. They offer different kinds of lattes and teas if you buy one you can go in the cat room or for $5 a person you can go in the cat room and play with the cats. It's a non-profit rescue. OMG, YES!!!! From the old timer Cat wallowing in catnip to the adorable cottage, I immediately felt at home. As soon as we walked inside, we were met by 2 staff members who explained the mission, history and culture of the Caffeinated Cat. Once you buy a coffee, tea or hot chocolate you'll enter the kitty rooms where the cats and kittens are having free roam, most were sleeping as it was nap time. You can adopt a baby for $50. What a special little spot in Jacksonville! When walking up, we saw the cutest little one-eyed cat out front to greet us. The colors all around are bright and so fun. Walking in, we met a barista and another employee, who were clearly very passionate about their job, which was awesome. They have some kitties in cages in the front, mainly just one that gets bullied by the other cats :(. The barista walked us through the drink options while holding a little kitten, and we were able to go into the kitty room (for FREE, might I add)! Our lemonade (I forget which flavor) was really good. Inside the cat room there are so many cat towers, beds, scratchy posts, and little hiding spots for the cats. They are decorated in cute and punny ways which makes the room really fun. There are also a few spots to sit. Best of all, cats and kittens everywhere! They ask that you don't pick them up, but the majority of them are very social and will come up to you to play anyway. On an afternoon, a lot of them are very sleepy too. You can adopt all of the cats I believe, which is even better! If it gets too busy, the workers will ask the people who have been in their the longest to head out in order to make room for others. How can you not give 5 stars to a place that is looking to help stray and injured cats? And on top of that, you can get a coffee or a lemonade as well. They have a small little gift shop too, where you can purchase cat toys, treats, etc. to help out too. Once you're inside, you can go into the "cat" room where there are toys of every size and shape for all the kitties. Plenty of places to sit down and play with the cats as well. Where do I even start! My boyfriend & I came to the Caffeinated Cat for some coffee and to see some cats, not really having any expectations or knowing what to expect. But as soon as we walked in, we knew this would be a great experience. We ordered some drinks as the barista explained which cats were up for adoption & where the cat room was at for us to visit once she finished making our drinks. I got a Blueberry Latte with Oatmilk & he got a Strawberry Lemonade- all for only $8! The coffee was alright but the lemonade was good. However, they explained that selling coffee is what keeps them in business and allows them to keep housing cats and buying supplies for them like litter, crates, toys, etc. so I would GLADLY buy that coffee over and over again to help them out. Also, going into the cat room was completely FREE! We then went into the cat room (which was decorated like a little town- SO ADORABLE!). it was filled with cats! We walked around and petted a few of them. I swear I almost cried they were so cute. Then, on the way out, we saw a little crate full of kittens that they explained they just had received 15 minutes prior from the local animal shelter to care for and put up for adoption. All in all, I literally cannot recommend this place more. If you like cats, you will LOVE the caffeinated cat! I wish I lived at Jax Beach so I could visit this place again. read more

Adorable place! Lots of cute paintings and wall hangings and the bathroom is really cute. They have a variety of teas and coffee. Simple but nice. And of course the best part is sitting and enjoying the dear cats. They are all over, hiding here and there and the less shy ones in plain view for a little head scratch and rub. Visited on a whim last weekend and it was such a serotonin boost. First, I love being able to contribute to good causes and especially so when it involves animals. It's a small little place but there was plenty of parking space out front. They had a full coffee and espresso menu and the drinks we had were both delicious. I had a peppermint mocha and my boyfriend had a caramel latte. I do wish they had asked if I wanted to add a tip either for the barista or for the organization. I don't really carry cash but would have been happy to have added to my bill. We spent about 20 minutes in the car room hanging out with about 6 cats. There was a kitten who was giving us all the love. I know that when I am ready to add a furbaby to my home, I will come here first. read more

I really loved visiting all the Kitties at this place. I love their mission and how they work so hard to save cats in need. While I was here, I did have some coffee too because I can never resist coffee! I had the Korat and it was very tasty. I only found out later they had wine! Coffee and cats your speed? Then this place is a must on your list! Cute decor, great coffee, and sweet kitty cats you can play with to your hearts content await you once your step inside. They are also a rescue and most of the cats are adoptable (minus their permanent residents). They sell cat related gifts, toys for cats, and accept donations too. I was told week days aren't super busy, but weekends can get busy quick! So if you do plan on going, make sure you give yourself enough time in case there is a wait. They allow one family/group in at a time or up to 5 people into the cat playing area. Kids are allowed, however you must sign a waiver to make sure they listen, are respectful, and don't yell to scare the cats. Simple rules to keep everyone happy. :) Small upfront parking area, but plenty of street parking as well. read more

This place is great! It was such a cute and cozy spot to visit. Not only do I love cats, and that's one of the reasons we visited, but I really enjoyed the coffee I got there. And, if I lived nearby I would come just for that! The names of all the drinks were also super fun and on-brand.The O'Malley, i mean common! lol I ordered the Angora which had marshmallow, and butterscotch in a latte. You could really taste both of the flavors and it wasn't overall sweet...just the right amount! Another thing I loved about this place is that you didn't have to pay to go into the cat room. You could pop in for as much or as little time as you want without a commitment. I've been to other cat cafes where this wasn't the case and I feel like that commitment is a reason why I didn't go back frequently. So the flexibility at the Caffeinated Cat is great. This is seriously an awesome concept for a cat rescue. Cat cafés are starting to become popular for a good reason and cause, and I'm so happy that Jacksonville finally have one. I got a chance to visit this past weekend and it is a cute, colorful little building decorated with some cute trinkets. The inside is small, but there are a couple tables and a little area in the back to order your drink. Yes the menu is small, but it is a rescue and the prices are pretty reasonable. After talking with the owner for the bit, I found out that all the sales from the café goes back into the care and well being of it's current feline residents, so I suggest throwing in a few bucks or more into their tip jar, if you can. The little area where the cats are housed have plenty of toys, cat trees and covered beds for the cats to escape to. Litter boxes and food are also hidden, and there is adequate seating for the humans to sit and enjoy the present of these felines. If you love cats or looking to add to your family, I highly suggest coming to the Caffeinated Cat. Come enjoy a nice hot café drink while relaxing in the presence of cats. Very cool place. They have coffee and lemonade. I had a strawberry lemonade which way awesome. The also have a room with like 10 kittens and cats to sit and drink coffee and snuggle kittens. It's great and very therapeutic. If you are a cat person, this place is a must visit. read more

I admit that I may have a slight bias because I love cats but this place was SO cute!! Very cozy and calm atmosphere. I love that the menu has teas and coffees all named after different breeds of cats, super creative and cute. We got our drinks and then went into the cat room, lots of cute cats to play with and pet. There's some seating (wood benches with cut outs so the cats can play in them) and it's so nice to sit there and just relax with the kitties.
