It was my first visit to Hawaii. The service was set up by my travel group coordinator. The Cab arrived at the Equus Hotel @ 3 pm for trip to Port 2 which was a few miles down the street, I had already been waiting near the front of hotel. The driver pulled up and opened the van door automatically. He never got out of the vehicle any never assisted me with any of my luggage (2 pcs). He never even said anything to me until at the port. He acted as if he was not sure if my trip was prepaid. He had me sign a receipt and again never got out and assisted me. He displayed a negative example of Hawaiian charm. He acted as if he hated his job or I wondered if he was attempting to get me to pay the fare directly to him even though my group coordinator had made arrangements for payment. read more

Warning! This is gonna be a bit long, but that's how much I hate TheCab!! So tonight I caught TheCab for the last time. 9 times out of 10, horrible service so I guess I can understand the few 5 star reviews. Glad you guys had the right treatment you paid for, but please discontinue while you can still appreciate their service. They will change your mind soon enough!! Everyone already knows the aggressive, over suggestive, rude, moronic few individuals that have been mentioned and pointed out, but there's so much more stories that haven't been told. My girlfriend and her sister were denied service from a cab in Ala Moana mall because the driver felt that the rate wouldn't amount to $10. He was right, it usually amounts to $7- $8 average, but we always give a full $10 to cover the tip. I've waited for TheCab for over 30mns on more than one occasion. Tonight was the nail in the coffin! Forget that the dispatcher forgot to assign a pick up, or that the driver went to the wrong location, or that it was a busy night!!! Tonight was the final straw, when they didn't apologize. Now I don't need apologies for gratification, I just wanted them to own up to their mistake! Own up to the 20mns of my time wasted because I called for their service only after EcoCab told me they were low on drivers and it would take 20-25mns. Own up to the fact that they are putting their brand out there and every employee (at fault or not) represents their brand when they mess up. The dispatch never acknowledged that my first call was 20mns ago. Her reply, "I'll let him know you're still waiting." The driver tried to explain the system of how they work which is way more important than being sorry for having a paying customer wait for 20mns for a cab at 1 in the morning! The service is so bad I ended up calling an ambulance to rush me to the hospital because my blood pressure and anxiety was so bad I was shaking. A lawsuit will be coming their way very soon. Yall pray for me that i get compensated for my troubles these people put upon me. This is why: My bf calls me he just got off work at midnight, the car is down and we never call a tow truck because his mechanic comes to us whenever our car brakes down, we just have to wait till morning so he can fix it. So my bf tells me to catch a cab to my mother's house (wahiawa to aiea.) I have her spare keys so I just needed to pick her car up to pick him up. Mind u I have a newborn and we don't have family here except my mother and she's off island. Everyone we know was asleep of course. So I call the first dispatcher and she said a cab will be here in 30 mins and when she asked how many people I said my baby and I. So 50 mins go by I called again the second dispatcher said there's no cab available to come out there right now and asked if i still wanted to wait. I told her of course I need to wait I'm in a semi emergency and that's not what the first lady said. She claimed that they give out approximate times. I called charleys taxi, atleast they were honest and had the decency to tell me 2 hours. So I'm beyond stress at that point I have medical issues and a newborn. I had got my baby all ready to go, woke him up to put warmer clothes on, diaper bag ready, and I put him in his car seat and stroller. Basically I needed an ambulance and was rushed to the hospital where my bf met me at. All the first dispatcher had to do was be honest and tell me that no taxi was available at the moment. read more

Would give this a ZERO STAR RATING if I could! Worst cab service! Customer service employees are ignorant! Called for lost and found everyday for a week after using their service and kept getting transferred to a line they said would be lost and found. Once a new person answered, was then transferred to a different line and went directly to voicemail everytime. Last attempt to call, I called right when they opened and spoke to Lillian. At first, she seemed very helpful and understanding stating that she'd get in touch with the driver, giving me direction to call her back after lunch. And so that's what I did.. once on the phone with her, she had first thought I was her daughter and when she found out I wasn't, and I had asked her if she had followed up on my lost item, she clearly stated, "no I haven't had time. I don't have time to handle this right now. I can transfer you to lost and found." And I was right where I started, back to someone named Tristen's voicemail. And to top it all off, they charged me $63 from Pearl Harbor/Hickam area to Chinatown, without being able to give me an explanation why, claiming "we don't want to make preassumptions about our drivers" so they'd follow up on that too, but guess what? They didn't do that either! Worst experience ever and would never recommend this cab to anyone. DO NOT TAKE THIS SERVICE. Better luck with a Lyft or even Uber. #endrant read more

Is give theses guys 0 stars if that was possible. My driver lastnight was so rude! I told him I was going to pay by visa and he told me I had to pay cash. All thecab drivers must accept card! So I called the company while I was in his taxi. In doing so the cab driver started flipping out at me. He refused to give me his taxi ID that the folks over the phone were asking for. He began to scream and yell at me. Then telling me he will accept my card. Due to his behavior I walked out of the cab. Called the company to pay my fair over the phone because I could not talk to the cab driver at all. THE DRIVER WAS OUT OF CONTROL! After being cut off by the people over phone 2x I finally managed to pay my fair(I'm an honest person and I wanted to pay my fair, because I walked out on the driver). After all my troubles with the driver. This company could have given me a comped ride or discount. I will NEVER be riding with this company AGAIN! I will be taking LYFT or UBER from now on. read more

HORRIBLE!!! DO NOT USE THIS CAB COMPANY. 1 star is too many but there is no option for 0 or negatives. Not only did they show up 30 minutes late, costing us to miss a flight, but I was notified via text that he was dispatched 9 minutes before he was supposed to be here- from the other side of the island. Then I called a supervisor to find out why even though I gave 5 hrs notice they would not dispatch him until 9 minutes prior to arrival time and he said that even though I allowed over 5 hrs, the cab requests are computer generated, and mine sat there in the queue- "no one wanted to pick it up cause they were not close enough". THEN HE HAD THE AUDACITY TO TELL ME I CUT THE FLIGHT TOO CLOSE AND IT IS MY FAULT because we allowed 1:45 instead of 2 hrs. Are you kidding? Bad drivers, bad cars, bad customer service, and bad supervision. No one should ever use this cab company, there are plenty others that will be on time and be professional. read more

I was at the aloha gas station by the new ritz Carlton and was waiting in line at the gas station as it's the only one that's in Waikiki. I waited in line and then I saw another car waiting in line on the opposite side and as the car I was waiting for was leaving I started moving up and then I see the driver of this company (a small Asian lady) driving up I put up my hands and say I'm here? And she shouts very loud I'm first before you and I'm going to go now. So I start honking my horn and she gives me a dirty look as if I did something wrong. I'm sorry but if I wait in line for a completely different side of gas pump then you then it's my pump and you need to wait. It's not my fault that you chose a pump that the person took longer then mine. I just couldn't believe she had no shame in acting that way when she was in her companies car and uniform. Super unprofessional and made me glad that I had my own rental car instead of using that company. Imagine how they act when you purchase to ride with them. Will never ride with them!!!! read more

Left me stranded, alone in a dangerous place. My experience was so bad that I am considering reporting them to the BBB. I explained to the woman on the phone that I'm getting off the bus in Wahiawa (it was 11 pm) and I need a ride for the final leg of my trip to get home. She told me that someone would be there in 10-15 minutes. I had friends that would have picked me up, but I told them all not to worry, the cab was on the way and I didn't want to bother them. I waited for 2 hours!!!! At this point it is NOT SAFE to be where I was. I called several times and explained the situation again and they kept saying 20 minutes. Eventually they said they couldn't yet find a cab in that area. WTF??? That's why you SEND one there!! That's why people CALL for cabs, because they aren't on the street to be hailed down. I couldn't believe it. I had to ask a stranger (super sketchy at 1 am) to give me a ride home and offered them the cab money that I would have spent. The worst part is that I was told I would have a ride. DO NOT count on them for a ride. They'll send a cab if it's convenient. They should have just told me that they can't do it. I would have arranged something else, but keeping me waiting put me in danger. NOT OK!!!! read more

The good thing about using The Cab is it's convenient for those lacking a car. If you miss The Bus, or its raining and can't get somewhere on foot you can get to your destination on time. The price of fare compared to some of the other companies is slightly higher. The commercials have the 422-2222 jingle so it's easy to remember. One of their big selling points is that they allow customers to use gift cards called "Cab Bux". The television commercial specifically states they accept all major credit cards,cash, and Cab Bux. If you ever call 422-2222 and it's busy the call waiting commercial also states their form of payments. Two stars off because some of the drivers get rude if you don't use cash because it's inconvenient for them. I have had drivers straight out ask me if I had cash to pay because they have to "go into the office to get the transaction processed", "don"t get all the money when people use credit". If they give you a hassle, call the main number and complain. read more

the dispatchers are by far very very nice. but! there was a japanese driver who was so rude and calling his dispatcher stupid! and he is not fluent in english and it was difficult for me to understand because of his accent. and by the time he gave me the change he raised his voice and got himself a tip from the change. for me the money was nothing but his behavior ruined my entire day! i frequent hawaii and thats their problem. and.. they are mean they want a cash payment instead of bank card. everyone was scratching their heads if you pay using it. sad but true. bad for tourists. i hope those bad drivers will soon be fined. read more

My son and I needed a ride to the airport recently so we booked a ride online with "the cab". Horrible! We booked the ride for 8 and checked the tracking that was available online that told us that our cab had been dispatched at 7:45 and was on time. At 8:10 we got a call from the driver that he was 3 cities away and on his way! Now I was getting stressed about missing our flight because I heard that the airport was busy and we needed to get there early. I called the company to see if they had anyone closer. I got a dispatcher who you could tell didn't give a crap who quickly transferred me to his supervisor named "Moe" who might have been the custodian for all I know cause he did not have a clue how to handle this. In fact when I told him that the tracking said that they were on time he asked me "what tracking?" When the cab came he was unapologetic and did not try to drive any faster even though he was late. I had called The Cab for my 80 year old mother and my brother on 6/24/2014. The driver came in the 20" time frame given by the dispatcher. They were going from the Waikele outlet to Waipahu Longs Drugs area. My mom had no packages. Just a small walker which I placed into the back of the van. I told my brother before the cab came to make sure to take Waipahu Depot Road home because it was rush hour and Farrington Highway would be stop and go all the way. When my mom got home the cab driver told her it would be an extra $5.50 for the walker! They had no bags, just the walker and a small purse. It's not the money that's upsetting but the fact that a disabled person who needs a mobility aid was penalized via the "extra" fee for being disabled! My husband spoke with the dispatcher who said her supervisor would call back. The call never came, he then spoke with the "administration" office who promised a return call by a supervisor. That call never came. It's been a week now and still no response. Shame on The Cab! read more

So generally, the cab is ok and I call them because i can remember their contact number. However, all thumbs down for this morning's experience! So it is Saturday morning and I need to run to the grocery to get food before the children wake up. Called The Cab and spoke to a Linda and asked her if they could call me when the cab arrive so I can wait for them at my front door. She replied saying, "oh, you should go outside now because there is one cab nearby." So I did go outside and waited and waited and waited. Finally, I see the Cab parking itself all the way at the front gate of my appartment complex. Although i can see the cab, i couldn't walk that far to it, it is a big appartment community complex. I called back Linda and was put on hold 2x, finally I spoke to her and asked her nicely if the cab could come all the way to my front door. she said sure, sounding exasperated. So i waited a few more minutes and I saw the cab do a u turn at the gate, getting ready to leave. I called back Linda, and she sounded irritated sounding like I was a lazy bitch for not walking to the gate! At that, I told Linda to cancel my request. I hope The Cab company reads these comments here, because i tried to leave a review on their site, but do not see any where to leave it at. They have just ruined a perfectly "off to a great start" Saturday morning for me! But I dont think they would even care!
