My mother enjoying her breakfast

We always enjoy eating breakfast at the Butler House, particularly on the deck where we can bring my dog! Food is always quality and delicious and the young male waitstaff we get has always been exemplary!

Very happy with the location and meal. It's nice being in the middle town allowing for walks after eating. Staying made me feel like I was really in Vermont. The maple sausage were fully cook & moist. The blue pancakes were excellent you could actually taste the berries, which were large and fresh. The Eggs Benedict were worth the order. The Pantry is the kind of place that makes you want to order your way down the menu.

Max's Roost Living Room & Kitchen

We stayed in Max's Roost and it was great having a one bed room apartment in the middle of downtown. Plenty of space to be comfortable and even a kitchen if you wanted that available. We loved the proximity to all the restaurants and the check in and check out process was easy and quick. Overall a great stay.

Great service and delicious food. We loved the breakfast and were always excited to come back from our day to find the afternoon snack waiting for us. The location is perfect. Just 5 minute drive from main street Stowe. We enjoyed the game room and spent most of our evenings there. We also appreciated the hot tub with the view of Mount Mansfield. The inn had a menu of assorted food and drinks to choose from, and the order process was seamless. You order these items on their website and it is delivered to you. The room itself was spacious and comfortable. We had the ability to log into our Netflix account on the tv. I also liked the burning stove in the room. Everything was perfect. We would love to plan another visit to the Brass Lantern Inn. Exceptional service, food, atmosphere, and amenities.

For the first three nights, we stayed in the Madonna Peak room and the fourth night at the Pinnacle which was larger with a better view. All the rooms are either upstairs or downstairs a steep flight of stairs but we had no worries as our suitcases were carried to our rooms. We were treated every morning to a different delicious breakfast and a snack in the late afternoon. The beds are extremely comfortable and we spent time in the hot tub which was so relaxing. I highly recommend the Brass Lantern Inn as a place to stay in Stowe, Vermont.

Very Disappointing Experience - Would Not Return…read more Our first night at the Stone Hill Inn in Stowe was fine. The room was clean, well-appointed, and we had no issues initially. However, the experience declined quickly. Breakfast was mediocre at best. The omelet was bland, and the oatmeal felt like an afterthought -- disappointing given that breakfast is part of what you're paying for at an inn like this. The second night was where things truly went wrong. There was no hot water. We specifically booked this inn for the jacuzzi tub after a long hike, which was the main reason for choosing this property. Instead, we had to check hourly to see if hot water returned, never did, and ultimately went to bed dirty from hiking with no ability to shower. The following morning, the situation escalated unnecessarily. The innkeeper confronted me and aggressively asked me to step into the kitchen, accusing us of breaking a toilet and shattering porcelain on the ground. I was shocked and told him I had no idea what he was referring to because we did not damage anything. I asked for a moment to understand what he was talking about and was told, angrily, that I had "one minute." I declined breakfast that morning -- which was unfortunate since that's one of the supposed highlights of staying here -- and asked if he would like to inspect the room before we left. He refused. I even offered for him to look at the bathroom to see how it would have been impossible for us to damage the toilet, and again he declined. Importantly, we had tipped the innkeeper who cleaned the room, who reportedly found the alleged damage and cleaned it up -- yet noted nothing to us and showed no concern at the time. The belligerent and accusatory behavior of the innkeeper completely overshadowed any positives from the stay. This is not how paying guests -- especially those booking for a romantic getaway, honeymoon, or special occasion -- should ever be treated. We will never return, and I strongly caution anyone considering this inn, particularly if you are looking for a peaceful, romantic experience.

We had also wanted to rewnew our vows and hoped to use a room in the Inn. We knew there would be an added fee (and would have gladly paid) for the use of the room but never expected the unprofessional behavior from the owners! They wanted to plan the event or we had to have it elsewhere. Not considering the fact that our anniv is in the winter, "why not have it outside". ‍ In our talks and emails I was reminded upmteen times "we are a business". (duh)! When I cancelled our res (5 mos out) they wanted to fine us. And called our officiant and yelled at her! Someone needs to teach them Hospitality 101. To be fair, we never ended up staying there. The lack of their knowledge of what a Guest is, kept us away.

Flights were canceled or delayed, and even the airline sent automatic refund offers for safety reasons. Every other small business involved in our trip, four hotels, Airbnbs, our Turo car rental, and the airlines, provided full refunds or credits. The Old Stagecoach Inn was the only one that refused to offer any flexibility, citing that severe weather is a "foreseeable" risk and that I should have purchased trip insurance. I understand small businesses rely on reservations, but the response from management felt unnecessarilyj rigid and dismissive, especially compared to the empathy shown by other small, family owned Vermont inns. Given how the situation was handled, I would not stay here or recommend it to others. P.S. We don't think extreme weather is "foreseeable" since we had been checking the weather up to a week prior.
