Breakfast at the Inn
Megan F.

This place is amazing! If you're looking for a cozy retreat to get away in Stowe Vermont this is the place. Valerie the innkeeper is more than sweet! Her breakfasts are amazing and the accommodations couldn't be more comfortable. The huge fireplace and common area is a great place to meet new friends and the quiet and private rooms give you the privacy that you may be looking for. I came to Vermont on the large group trip and Valerie made sure that everyone in the group was well taken care of in all aspects. Timberholm was the perfect hub for our adventure. I can't wait to go back again and spend some more time in Vermont.

I was so excited to stay in a bed and breakfast in Vermont, and I'm so glad we chose the Timberholm Inn! We only stayed one night, and the other two nights we were camping, but if the day after we stayed wasn't already booked, we would have stayed two nights! I chose the Spruce room, because I loved how tiny and cozy it looked. It WAS really cozy; the beds were really comfortable and the sheets were so soft! I also liked the lamps & bookshelves. We were lucky that the night we stayed ended up getting pretty chilly for the first week of September, so we were able to go in the hot tub, yay!! (The rubber ducky and I quickly became friends.) The hot tub was on this little section of the back deck, and had really nice string lights all around. We really enjoyed the game/entertainment room downstairs and had fun playing with the bear and wolf checkers, and would have played scrabble or chess if we had more time... Sitting out on the deck at sunset was really nice, and I enjoyed the view of the mountains. I loved the oatmeal pancakes Tom made for breakfast, and enjoyed drinking coffee in the Timberholm Inn mugs. Oh, and the location of the B&B is on a really quiet road, but also close to everything going on in Waterbury and Stowe, which was great. The owners, Tom & Susan, were really nice and made us feel at home! I can't wait to come back again when we hopefully go back to Vermont for snowboarding later this Winter! (:

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Timberholm Inn and I look forward to coming back. Went up to Stowe for a few days to snowboard and snowshoe. I loved everything about my stay from the room to the breakfast. The inn is beautiful and Valerie is an amazing host. She made the stay so much better with her humor and hospitality. And she makes an awesome and delicious breakfast. The location is within close distance to restaurants, shops, and the mountain. I hope to come back and experience the warmer months of what the area has to offer. Keep in mind that this is a bed and breakfast. It is family oriented and not recommended for groups that want to party.

Spruce Room

I cannot say enough good things about the Timberholm Inn. The Inn itself is charming and has such a lovely homey feel to it. Valerie was an amazing host, making sure to chat with you each time she saw you. The breakfast that was made for us each morning was fantastic and a great way to start the day. Added bonus each morning was getting to hang out with Lewis, the friendliest of dogs and a wonderful greeter. I spent some time just sitting in a chair on the lawn and taking in the views. It was so quiet and peaceful. The location of the inn was near a bunch of places to grab a beer or enjoy some of the local food. The room was a little small but that was very clear according to the website and really was just what we needed. It was my first time in Vermont and staying here just made the trip that much better. Timberholm Inn will certainly be on the list of places that I will return to again and again.

Very Disappointing Experience - Would Not Return…read more Our first night at the Stone Hill Inn in Stowe was fine. The room was clean, well-appointed, and we had no issues initially. However, the experience declined quickly. Breakfast was mediocre at best. The omelet was bland, and the oatmeal felt like an afterthought -- disappointing given that breakfast is part of what you're paying for at an inn like this. The second night was where things truly went wrong. There was no hot water. We specifically booked this inn for the jacuzzi tub after a long hike, which was the main reason for choosing this property. Instead, we had to check hourly to see if hot water returned, never did, and ultimately went to bed dirty from hiking with no ability to shower. The following morning, the situation escalated unnecessarily. The innkeeper confronted me and aggressively asked me to step into the kitchen, accusing us of breaking a toilet and shattering porcelain on the ground. I was shocked and told him I had no idea what he was referring to because we did not damage anything. I asked for a moment to understand what he was talking about and was told, angrily, that I had "one minute." I declined breakfast that morning -- which was unfortunate since that's one of the supposed highlights of staying here -- and asked if he would like to inspect the room before we left. He refused. I even offered for him to look at the bathroom to see how it would have been impossible for us to damage the toilet, and again he declined. Importantly, we had tipped the innkeeper who cleaned the room, who reportedly found the alleged damage and cleaned it up -- yet noted nothing to us and showed no concern at the time. The belligerent and accusatory behavior of the innkeeper completely overshadowed any positives from the stay. This is not how paying guests -- especially those booking for a romantic getaway, honeymoon, or special occasion -- should ever be treated. We will never return, and I strongly caution anyone considering this inn, particularly if you are looking for a peaceful, romantic experience.

We had also wanted to rewnew our vows and hoped to use a room in the Inn. We knew there would be an added fee (and would have gladly paid) for the use of the room but never expected the unprofessional behavior from the owners! They wanted to plan the event or we had to have it elsewhere. Not considering the fact that our anniv is in the winter, "why not have it outside". ‍ In our talks and emails I was reminded upmteen times "we are a business". (duh)! When I cancelled our res (5 mos out) they wanted to fine us. And called our officiant and yelled at her! Someone needs to teach them Hospitality 101. To be fair, we never ended up staying there. The lack of their knowledge of what a Guest is, kept us away.

It really depends on your palette, and you have to understand that the grapes local to the area will not be your typical grapes. My family got flights, both sweet and dry. We really liked the 2023 Louise and 2022 Marquette. In fact, the Marquette was the best of the bunch from my point of view. The ciders were both really sweet, but the Eden Angeljus was pretty good and reminiscent of Mead. The Riesling was also a favorite. We got a cheeseboard for two, and that was freaking delicious. It came with a maple cranberry preserve that was out of this world. But the cheese, and even the crackers, were exceptionally good, too. Beyond that, the service was exemplary. Ruby in particular was a joy to talk to and quite good at her job. Finally, the live music they had playing was surprisingly good. I did not expect that kind of quality on a random Saturday in May. I highly recommend going to this winery.

We woke up each morning to a beautifully prepared breakfast. Since our trip was so last minute, we didn't have much of a plan. The swordfish main is crafted with an amazing balance of sweet blueberry sauce and a touch of cayenne to make the flavors pop. The chicken dish featured a tasty glaze and features grilled lemon, a surprise twist.
