Pros and cons to staying here, Pros: we rented the honeymoon suite, the room was beautiful and the fire place made it perfection! My husband paid for the romance package, it was beautiful when we walked in with the "rose petals" and tea lights on the bed. Cons: the wifi was awful, the tv remote wouldn't work after a few minutes, there was barely warm water in the shower all evening the night we arrived, so even if there was hot water, I would NOT have used the jet tub as it the jets we're disgusting and covered in mildew. My husband paid $60 for the romance package which as I said was beautiful, however the rose petals were fake, not worth the $60! If the above issues were corrected, it would be a perfect place to stay! read more

I loved my stay at the hotel. I was staying on the first floor, and the suite was beautiful. There were two bedrooms, a single bathroom, and a living room. One of the bedrooms had a queen-sized bed, and one of them had two single-sized beds. I stayed in the room with two single-sized beds and ended up pushing them together. My stay was more than comfortable, the pool area was nice but the water was below freezing, almost like swimming in the middle of the Atlantic. I also got a chance to enjoy the morning breakfast. I got the scrambled eggs with bacon and orange juice. The eggs were cooked just the way I liked them and the hostess was more than accommodating even if I was late and had come back from an early morning nap, I mean yoga lesson. I would happily come here again for a little R&R if given the chance. read more

Having stayed at the Inn once before, with the previous owners, (and really loved it) I can't comment on the room accommodations now, however, after a fantastic meal (more on that in a minute), one of the new owners gladly and graciously took us on a tour of several of the rooms. They have been updated and look wonderful, full of style and amenities. I plan on booking and staying there at some point in the future. Now....on to the dining experience. Ate outside on the deck (with a beautiful setting above the landscape, nestled in the trees) and had a most wonderful experience; the chef (who has stayed on with the new owners) and their kitchen staff really have excellence down pat. The menu is extensive, varied, and creative. The bar just can't make a bad cocktail. The service was top notch. You can't go wrong here. Put it on your list and, like me, you'll be back. read more

My stay at the Tucker Hill Inn was very pleasant. This quaint New England Inn is very clean and the proprietors, Steve and Susan are very nice and the breakfast included with the room was homemade and very good. Each morning was delicious coffee provided - they even had sugar-in-the-raw available, which is my sweetener if choice, and is not available at most hotels, in my experience. The morning after our first night was as has seasoned scrambled eggs, yogurt, a ring of pineapple and a small blueberry muffin. on morning two we had delicious french toast, fresh honeydew mellon and yogurt. The food was quite good and the downstairs pub was surprising lively with a friendly bartender, Brian, who made a great expresso martini. The drinks are pricey but for an after dinner drink before retiring for the evening, the experience is worth it. read more

Have stayed here several times usually one of my favorites. Not this time found the new management difficult. Room was cold and they never got back to us. Left a tip in cash and had one added without our knowledge as if forty dollars wasn't enough. There was a loud party in the living room right next to our room for two nights. No one seemed to care. First visit with new owners was less than stellar. I wish this was a COVID related situation, but I fear that it's not. We've been here many times over the years and while this is a pricey bite, it's always felt like you've gotten high end food and really good service. Sadly last night wasn't the case. Service: We had a very nice and fun waiter, but he forgot to put our order in so we waited for quite some time between appetizers and our meal. OK. It happens. But, when our meals arrived and one of our party was unhappy with their dish, which was composed nicely but entirely lacking in green vegetables, he apologized and said he'd get some green vegetables. Then he seemed to ignore us and when he finally did return (with no additional vegetables), he also ignored the issue and asked how our meal was. Huh? When he returned again, and was asked where those veggies were, he again said that he had forgotten to put the order in. We though maybe he had too many tables, but no he said he had just forgotten. Food: The food itself was good, but unfortunately not at the level it should be for the price. This isn't about quantity. It's that delicate balance of quality/taste and price. I love to cook and the worst experience for me is when I say to myself that "I could have made this at home...and better." I ordered the pasta dish, which was underwhelming, especially for $24. I've gotten the squid salad many times. It's a favorite. It was close to the past, but very underseasoned. Based on that dish, my husbands fish and my dish, I'd say simple seasoning would have helped immensely. Salt people! Which we had to ask for BTW. I hope things improve moving forward. I want our local restaurants to suceed. But for now, I'm not sure I can justify a $300 dinner out for four people at this level. Sadly this feels more like a tourist spot, and to serve the people staying at the inn. read more

Had a really great experience here. The outdoor seating is very nice. They have a tent area and a deck area. Our waiter was nice and the service was excellent. Not rushed at all, but we were very pleased with the arrival times of the food. There is nothing better than a three course two hour dinner, am I right? So glad Tucker hill allowed for this to happen. A long, relaxing dinner is very difficult to find in the Waitsfield area during this time. The food was very good; I ordered the steak and liked it a lot. Only issue was that the medium well was VERY well done, so I would consider ordering down a level. We also tried some of their desserts- the maple Creme Brûlée and chocolate cheesecake were excellent. I love the vibe here- it's cozy and has a lot of charm. If you want authentic Vermont atmosphere and good food, try out tucker hill inn. I have been coming to the valley for years and finally got to try it. My expectations were high and it met them with flying colors. I had the lobster bisque (so creamy and yummy) and they had lobster rolls too (yes!!). The kids got burgers and didn't like them because they char them but if you like that, they were juicy and you would like them. Oh, the French fries... SO GOOD! I couldn't stop eating them. We had an amazing dinner at the Tucker Hill Inn; we stayed elsewhere so I can only speak to the restaurant (not the Inn) but it was the perfect spot for fine Vermont dining and such a sweet end to a day of hitting the slopes. First off, this place has a really great old-Vermont vibe; it's a charming little building that makes you feel like you stepped back in time. The service was top notch and friendly and while it would make an amazing spot for a romantic date, nobody batted an eye at us bringing in our two kids (they're very well behaved or we would never!) and there was a small kids' menu. Now, let's get on down to the main attraction: The food was fab. I ordered the lobster tortellini and it was JUST perfect. Veggies lightened it up so it wasn't too heavy and the sauce was ah-mazing. The tortellini were filled with big chunks of lobster and the whole entree was the best of both worlds between comfort food and the "fresh" aspect of seafood and veggies. My husband got the trout and my son got the chicken - both dishes had lots of great flavors making every bite an enjoyable experience. Even my daughter's kids-menu cheeseburger looked divine (and the fries were amazing!). Obviously we had to get dessert; the maple creme brulee was exactly as you'd imagine, and the chocolate mocha mousse was a truly unique experience due to the bruleed oranges adding citrus and crunch (SO good!). I appreciated that the portions were substantial but not excessive; I hate feeling like I have to either stuff myself or waste amazing food. We really did enjoy every bite of this meal. I see no better way to experience Vermont than by spending a day immersed in the majesty of the mountains and ending it with incredible food in such a cozy and charming little Inn. read more

My wife and I stayed for a few nights in mid-October 2017 at the Tucker Hill Inn. This is a very nice bed-and-breakfast: our room (called the Aspen) was large, clean and comfortable; and the owners, Patti and Kevin as well as the other staff were welcoming and offered a lot of useful advice about how to make the best of the area. Tea (and coffee) is available 24-hours a day and the breakfasts were very tasty and filling: the French-toast and omelettes were delicious. In terms of location, the inn is away from the road, so it is nice and quiet, but Waitsfield is only a short drive away; Waterbury/Stowe are nearby and Vermont Route 100 (also close to the Inn) is an amazing and scenic drive. We very much enjoyed our visit and we hope that the Tucker Hill Inn remains open for many years to come. read more

Our family has gone here many times, each time we are more impressed than the last! They have made great social-distancing seating outside the restaurant, but the food is what keeps us coming! Although their menu changes each week, they manage to keep their same great original menu while adding delicious new options. My husband and I just spent the weekend at Tucker Hill Inn with some friends. The rooms are clean, cozy and very comfortable; we stayed in the Mammoth suite with our 2 daughters, and there was plenty of room for us all! Tucker Hill is only 4 miles away from the base of Lincoln Peak, which makes it the perfect place to stay to ski. The absolute highlight of our stay was the food - we are (wannabe) foodies and were amazed by the quality and presentation of the food. We ate dinner there on both Friday and Saturday night (there was no need to go elsewhere!): The spinach salad, the carpaccio, the scallops....this is NOT your average B&B fare. The pub was well stocked with some great local beers, and is a great place to apres ski. Finally, Patti & Kevin are perfect hosts. We look forward to heading back there again for another ski weekend! read more

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at the Tucker Hill Inn over New Years. The Inn is a very comfortable place with plenty of places to lounge, there is a computer and wireless internet available should you need it. The inn is also a very short drive from Sugarbush. Phil and Alison were outstanding hosts. Our breakfasts were great and we definitely plan on visiting again. My only words of caution are: Make sure you have new tires / chains and preferably four wheel drive, getting up their driveway is not easy. My corolla was no match for the hill and we slid into a ditch on the way to the mountain New Years Eve. Our day was nearly ruined, but Phil kindly gave us a lift to the peak. (AAA also made record time and showed up in about 10 minutes to tow the car back to the safety of the parking lot) read more

Fantastic independently run inn in a gorgeous part of Vermont. Stayed here for a wedding. It sort of felt like staying with family or friends. The hospitality was very friendly and attentive, and the property is very charming. The room was incredibly comfortable: I slept like a log in the bed with the memory foam mattress. In July and August we have had dinner here at Tucker Hill Inn several times. The wine list is beautifully selected and with exceptionally good values. The veggie sides were fresh and sauced to perfection. The veggie sides were perfect compliments to the main dishes, both meats and seafoods. Salads too were sparkling fresh and never a wilted leaf. So happy we stayed there with 2 adults and 4 kids for 1 night. We skied December 1st and our seasonal ski rental wasn't available yet. Beds are extremely comfortable and rooms are perfectly equipped. This was my family's second time staying here but this is the first time with the new innkeepers, Patti and Kevin. They are soooooo kind and hospitable! A nice perk is that they reopened the bar/restaurant downstairs which is really fun to grab a bit to eat, socialize with the other people staying in the inn, and enjoy a refreshing beverage! The Inn is indeed "charming and immaculate", as ABC News put it. The B&B is infused with Alison and Phill Truckle's loving care, helpfulness, good humor and attention to detail, which have made the Tucker Inn our "home away from home" in Vermont. My wife and I just completed our third week-long stay. The location is beautiful, in the heart of "postcard Vermont", and is only an hour's drive from Burlington International Airport. As soon as you can, ask about the specials of the day. If a special appeals to you, then plan your meal around the special and match your by-the- glass of wine to it. A mini bottle (375 ml) of sparkling Prosecco goes with everything. First let us look at the Pub. The bar stock is all first class and the choices are excellent. The Pub has a really expansive choices of wines by the bottle, and by also by the glass. The Pub is comfortable and cozy in the summer, winter, or any time of the year. Looking at the restaurant, the ambience is relaxing, and eye pleasing. Indoors, or outdoors on the scenic deck, it is all pleasing. The deck is charming and inviting with a nice treetop view of the lawn below and the road far below. The chefs know what they are doing. My most fave is the crab cakes. The French fries are crisp and perfectly sized. Tasty choices for entrees are the rack of lamb and the sea scallops. Wait service is fast and efficient, and the owner manager Kevin makes everything run smoothly. All the servers are more than willing to make you feel at home and welcome. I like all the servers, and my fave server is Annelise. There is ample parking and the restrooms are attractive and spotlessly clean. read more
