Excellent place for our family to spend a few days while exploring Vermont. The River runs beside it and there is both a trail leading along the river and fire pits. I highly recommend it and we look forward to staying there in the future. read more

First the good stuff: The setting is spectacular! Being situated along the Mad River means you can hop right on the trail that runs along it for a short hike, or hang out in their Adirondack chairs by firepits. Super peaceful and scenic. The price was right for Columbus Day weekend in Vermont. And the room was impeccably clean. Everything felt brand new. I liked the text updates and suggestions. And the fridge was handy for leftovers. What I didn't like: I had to turn on the air conditioner on a 45 degree day. So bizarre. Our heater was turned off, but our room stayed in the high 70's. For the life of me, I could not figure out how it was getting so warm. Was it coming from an adjoining room? Through the floor somehow? We had to keep the air conditioning on to stay comfortable, even when it was freezing overnight outside. The lobby was closed due to COVID, which meant that the promise of free coffee and tea in the welcome binder was but a dream. There was also no kettle in the room, so if you wanted coffee at all, you were out of luck. Also, would it kill you to get some bigger towels? read more

Fantastic renovated rooms with a rustic charm started our week long stay with smiles. We enjoyed very comfortable beds, spacious bathroom, and a big flat screen cable TV. Besides having a great interior, the back of the property might be an even better feature to this accommodation. Complete with multiple fire pits, barbecues, firewood, chairs, and the ambience of string lights overhead this area sings with the gentle sound of the babbling Mad River which passes beside it. To the left and right are paths to take you on the Mad River trail to find a near by swim hole. To top it all off, the owners Zan and Dana are not only helpful providing for whatever arising needs we had, but they also gave us great advice on local attractions. All and all, we had a terrific stay and would definitely book again. read more

A wonderful place to stay. Just down the road from Sugarbush near by Mad River Glen . A small motel, clean well appointed rooms. Nice accommodations, comfortable beds, flat screen tv, kitchenette and a gas stove for heat. We were there for leaf peeping, would be great for skiing . Highly recommend. read more

The Warren lodge looks like a basic motel from the outside but it's rooms are recently renovated, clean and spacious. There's a nice back area with seating along a small river. The owners Zan and Dana could not be friendlier or more helpful. I used their text service asking for towels and the towels arrived minutes after I hit send. The location is great - close to sugarbush and mad river activities and close enough that Waterbury and Stowe are not too far to drive to. The best part of Warren lodge is you get all this for a great price - in terms of value in Vermont there isn't any place better. read more

Amazing! We loved our stay at the Warren Lodge at the offsite condos! The first thing we noticed was how beautifully it was decorated - very modern and warm with a lovely handwritten welcome on the chalkboard! Incredibly comfortable beds - we slept like logs! Good water pressure with hot plenty of hot water made for a nice shower. Excellent wifi. It's well situated on Route 100. Short drive to the slopes or supermarket Shaws in Warrenfield. Shuttle bus runs hourly - you need to call to make pickup arrangements but will drop you off without an issue. All the (expected) amenities are there: coffee, sugar, salt/pepper, soap, shampoo, extra toilet paper, paper towel, hair dryer. We had a special treat of ice cold (beer) glasses in the freezer! Super nice owners. I was traveling thru late night on my bike and had no reservation. It was too cold for my usual tent and sleeping bag. Great place to stay for skiers as it's just 3 miles from Sugarbush! This lodge has a touch of modernness that makes it hip. We came for a weekend stay and Look forward to another stay! The fireplace efficiency was perfectly cozy. The only con is that you can hear everything from other rooms and above you. read more

This place exceeded our expectations! The owners were extremely nice, personable and very accommodating. We loved our experience. The grounds are very nice, especially being next to a bubbling brook. There are fire places along the brook, where we made fires every night and drank our coffee by in the morning. The bridge, which crosses the brook is cute and leads you to a very cool swimming area with a rope swing! Amazing, and sooo much fun! The family enjoyed playing cornhole and petting the chickens! It is close to warren falls which is a fun spot to go cliff jumping into really clean fresh water. Loved this area! The apartment we stayed in had everything we needed, and the beds were very comfortable. Thumbs up! We definitely recommend this lodge, and we will book with them again when we return to Vermont! read more

We booked a small room last minute and it was cozy and pretty- got an upgrade after we got into our room to a super modern yet rustic room which we just loved. Stayed here for 3 nights while we went skiing down the road at sugarbush. For the price and cleanliness this place is wonderful! they set you up with everything you need. in addition the communication between guests and staff is so good! check in is private and we were able to check in early and weren't rushed to leave when our stay was over! wonderful for a little winter get away! read more

Great accommodations for the night! My boyfriend and I spent a couple of nights at the Warren Lodge over the summer and had a great experience! The room was newly renovated and clean! The check-in and checkout processes were done remotely. The "key" to the room was a code, making things very convenient! Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, there was no housekeeping during our stay (only before and after our stay). One thing that I was super grateful for was that we had our innkeeper's phone number to use if needed. Because there was no microwave in the room (only a fridge), he was gratuitous enough to heat up some food for us late at night for dinner (a lifesaver as the middle of Vermont offers little to no restaurants after 8:30pm!) Overall, a great experience for a great price. We would return!!! read more

Warren, VT is not New York City. The Golden Lion is not the Ritz. But Warren is a quaint Vermont town, and the Golden Lion fits perfectly. It's by no means fancy, but it gets the job done. The innkeeper is a lovely lady, who seems like she would go out of her way to make sure her guests are all totally happy. The room is small. but i didn't feel cramped. The bed, bathroom/shower, TV are all average, albeit not fancy. It was also really nice to be literally down the road from Sugarbush Mountain, and apparently there's a shuttle that stops at the Golden Lion. The innkeeper gave me the WiFi password for free, I believe because the heat was a little iffy (it wasn't a problem for me), but otherwise it's $1. Overall, I had a great experience, hence the 4/5 stars. I would absolutely stay there again. read more

Stayed here for V-day weekend 2016, the rooms are all new and upgraded, however I believe they still are under construction. Rooms/bathroom are small but comfortable. Can be a little noisy since you can hear everything outside(people passing by) but nothing major. One thing I did not appreciate was that we had the DO NOT DISTURB sign on our door because there is NO SAFE inside the room, however someone did come in our room and installed a new hook while we were gone. I know because 1 the hook was not there, and 2 there were debris on the floor & inside my suitcase from where they installed the hook. I figured if you just totally violated my do not disturb sign you could've at least clean up my room? But nope. Otherwise it needs a night stand and a coffee machine would be nice, and definitely a safe to put your belongings. read more

I took my niece and nephews to Vermont for the weekend and we stayed here and so glad we did! It was clean, comfortable, spacious, and perfect for our group! It also is such a nice location, right on the river and the kids loved playing in it. They also had a grill we could use and were able to cook most of our meals there. Stopped in here on our trip up to Sugarbush and had a great time! I didn't see what things looked like before the renovation/change of ownership, so I can only go off how things were now. All the rooms (our group had three) were spacious and impeccably decorated. Plus the location (right at the end of the access road) makes it super convenient for skiers. The Brookside apartment and the friendliness of Leslie (the caretaker) were over the top.  The apartment was a decent size for the five of us plus friends who dropped in. We used the firepit for a campfire.  Our kids loved playing a game of horseshoes and hanging out on the river.  Leslie was very helpful in finding an emergency solution to remove the security tag from the dress my daughter bought to wear to the wedding we were attending.  Staying at the Warren Lodge was a home run!!!! read more

I came up for a ski trip this past winter with some co-workers. We thought we were getting an actual cabin with seperate rooms, etc. It was one big room with a cot, queen bed, twin bed, and full size futon. It had a decent kitchenette, dining table, lazy boy chair and tv. It worked for the 5 of us. It also had a hot tob, not huge hotel size... but fit about 7-8 tightly. It was very inexpensive... I'd definetely stay here again. The brochures should be a little more clear on what you are getting. Best part is that there is a free bus that loops around to all the bars in the area and this place is on its route. read more

I stayed here for a wedding. Breakfast was great! cooked to order which I loved. I had 2 rooms. they both seemed very clean but one (room 9) had a very bad mildew smell with the heat on. I woke up with a stuffy nose and not feeling to well from sleeping in it. The following night i stayed in the other room with my friends because I didnt want to stay in that room again. This review is work related. I got hired at the Warren Lodge in early November. I'm the beginning it was a great part-time housekeeping gig. About a week ago on a Saturday I asked when I should come in the next day, the inn-keeper told me that there was not enough bookings for me to come clean rooms.. which was okay with me for a day or so. She let me know that she would call me when she needed me. Over a week later and I still haven't heard anything from her. The inn-keeper was really nice at first, but she became rude and unfair very quickly. I would not recommend working there for anybody. read more

The Standard room is cozy, nicely renovated, and very clean. The bed was comfortable. We met the owners Dana and Zan, who are both very warm and hospitable. They treated us like guests visiting their home. Dana is full of tips on things to do nearby all seasons. The location was very convenient. Five minutes car ride to Sugarbush for skiing. A shuttle bus is also available to the mountain. Also nearby is Mad River Glen and the town of Waitsfield for additional restaurants and supermarkets. We would definitely stay again. read more

Right at the base of the Sugarbush access road, this is a moderately priced hotel/motel type B&B. Breakfast is nothing fancy but adequate. For the money and location, it is great for skiers/boarders or somebody looking for a place to stay with a good location. It's right on a main road, but there was not a lot of truck or otherwise noisy traffic. Guests were nice and not rowdy when I was there for 3 nights, skiing at Sugarbush and Mad River Glen midweek.
