I wish I could give this place a 10 stars for EXCELLENCE, SERVICE AND VALUE for your money…read more We arrived approximately an hour before check in.., upon arrival we were greeted by Hilary ( the head of housekeeping ) and Christina at the front desk . Needless to say I was accommodated in a room right the way , very welcoming and warm atmosphere. The entire place is SPOTLESS clean , They offer free cookies and lemon water at the reception , coffee and tea are also available all day for the guests. The room was spacious and clean with tons of extra towels and a big refrigerator. They indoor pool is available daily from 5am-11pm and the also have a gym and a game room with a pool table and arcade games such as pinball machine and pac man just to name a few . Breakfast is included and it's served from 6-10am with a huge variety of bagels , muffins , cereal , juices , waffle maker , eggs , home fries , yogurt and so on .. there's just so many things to choose from . And the rooms are also sound proof ?! Cause everything was just so quiet , you could sleep all day it you wanted . And last but not least , the view of the mountains are simply BREATHTAKING.. ....

We are up here to go to a local tourist spot called dog mountain, while we were having breakfast the staff chatted with us about other things to see up here as well. Outstanding inn in Stowe, VT. So very glad we stayed here. Our room was very spacious and…read morecomfortable. The bed was ultra comfortable; pillows were awesome. The staff was warm and friendly. I only have one criticism. While the A/C was working, we had difficulty regulating it to feel comfortable. It was rather cold and clammy at night, but by morning, we felt fine. It wasn't so much the cold part that bothered me, but the clammy part was what got to me. Everyone kept saying how unseasonably hot and humid it was for Stowe, so who knows... maybe the A/C just had difficulty regulating itself... or we didn't know how to use it properly. It wasn't bad, per se, but it was a little uncomfortable some of the time. The room overall, though, was really great. Also, we loved that they had Netflix and Amazon Prime, so we could settle into the shows we were missing while traveling. That was a nice surprise ! Most hotels don't offer any of that. We had planned to dine out at one of the local restaurants, but we found out they were serving dinner at Grant's, the inn's restaurant. We were tired after traveling around all day, so we stayed at the inn and ate a great meal at Grant's. (See separate review for that.) Also, the common areas in the main building next to the restaurant are very tastefully appointed, spacious, with lots of games, books and sitting areas for people to utilize. We walked around them to see what there was but returned to our room to relax and watch some of our shows. My only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. One night in Stowe just isn't enough, especially at the Stowe Village Inn. Let's hope there will be a next time !

The price / night was reasonable, the breakfast included was very standard (coffee, tea, some breakfast pastries / bagels) but did its job to keep us energized for the days of exploring Stowe or hitting the slopes (!) The staff were nice, helpful and friendly. We look forward to coming back soon and staying when in Stowe.

What a peaceful overnight in the hills of Montpelier. A quick drive to downtown for dinner but…read moreaway from it all. We arrived just in time to catch the sunset from the patio as well as some deers. We stayed in the Mountain View Queen that even though the bathroom is not inside the room itself, we still had a private bath right next door. With only one other room on that floor, we rarely ran into the other guests, until breakfast. Breakfast started with a yogurt parfait, followed by French Toast and bacon with delicious local Morse Farm syrup that I loved so much, I went to pick up some to bring home. After just one night, I already felt at home that before leaving, I checked out the other two options and fell in love with the Mountain View King for next time.

We wanted to leave as soon…read moreas we pulled up to the junkyard of abandoned cars, a trailer, and boats in front of the house. The interior of the house was just as bad. The owner apologized a few hours before our arrival for some boxes that were on the outside porch due to renovations. This did not begin to prepare us for the state of the home. Stuff was all over the hallways, our room was incredibly dusty, windows were filthy, and there were ladybugs all over. The owner tried telling us they are all over VT inns at this time of year. This is simply not the case. To pay $442 for one night was highway robbery. If we could have found another place to stay on short notice, we would have. There wasn't even a key to lock our room. We left as soon as possible before breakfast.

My family stayed in one large captain's room of this old and beautifully renovated firehouse. A well outfitted kitchenette, with many features, a fairly large refrigerator, microwave, etc. were in the room, which actually is a large den and a private bedroom, with sleeping space for about 4 comfortably and possibly up to 6 people (if a cot or floor mattress can be part of your stay). Polished wood floors with fine rugs make the rooms look very special. The decor is also very well done, with genuine brass fire equipment and other features that make this a fantastic place to stay. One couple comfortably stayed on the pull out sofa bed in our room. The other couple stayed in a spacious private room. A child slept on the other large sofa, so 5 people were able to fit in this space and it was about $350 a night. The child was excited to be staying in a firehouse. Wonderful large pictures of the firehouse's former captains dating back 100 years or more are lined up in the hallway. So, this was the absolute best find of a visit to this region, which includes the Ben & Jerry's factory, great skiing not far away in Stowe, the Goddard College campus, and more. I can highly recommend a stay at this perfect little inn. It rests atop a cool pub that serves good food, but the noise, even on a weekend, isn't noticeable (or hardly so) -- and all closes fairly early in this small town anyway. A big plus is the proximity to the Opera House, where we hadn't planned, but go to go see the great folk singer, Arlo Guthrie. Many other acts (comedy, drama, music) come through this terrific little town.

The reason for my chiming in about THIS Best Western in the Waterbury/Stowe area is because they actually have a sweet and attractive little covered bridge in the back of the hotel. I was so amused and thrilled with this finding, I just had to post about it... and especially since I am posting about every other covered bridge on my personal covered bridge tour of 2025. Besides, how many other hotels or motels do you know that could boast of having a covered bridge in their backyard?

It was one of few places that had (a) availability the full duration we were visiting the area, and (b) consistently decent reviews. Our room: basic, but the bed and the bedding was clean and super comfortable. We slept quite comfortably, and the blackout curtains helped keep just enough light out. We often will use the bathroom light as our night light, and the bathroom was positioned in just a way that we didn't have light glaring at us as we slept. Noise didn't come easily through the door, so we weren't disturbed either by other guests in the hallway. Toiletries are standard and basic, but smelled lovely. Service: the infused water (they change fruits! Super fun and delicious) was a lovely touch, and the afternoon cookies were a wonderful surprise. And the breakfast had good variety of prepared and fresh items, so lots of choices for everyone! The staff were all also really friendly. The only negative was that our room smelled humid. Granted Vermont has had its share of rain this year, so we figured it was because of all the rain. There was also a patch in our bathroom that needed paint (it had been muddled, but not yet sanded or painted). These were the only negatives I could express about our stay.
