This hotel has one of the cleanest and most beautiful suites I've stayed at with Fairfield by Marriott. The carpet was not dirty, the hallways did not have a musty odor, nor did they smell like they were doused in air freshener. The shower had a brand new mat and the bathroom was gorgeous. In the living area is a long couch, large desk, and a working fireplace for the cold nights. There is a small parking garage under the hotel. I will always recommend this Marriott for a luxurious stay.

Clean, very spacious 2 Queen Bed room.

Only good things about this hotel! Out room was clean and spacious for our family of 4. So much so that 4 of us go our own beds (which is good, because the boys tend to toss & turn at night). There is always hot coffee & choice of tea available. During our stay, they had a Manager's "snack time" every evening of our stay between 4 to 7 (which often extended into 8p or whenever food ran out). It was nice to come back from a day of skiing to crudité, hame & cheese cubes, and light bite sweets (cookies & brownies). Friendly staff and front desk! Note: due to covid, housekeeping is not going into rooms daily to clean up; there is also no Do Not Disturb/Service room sign on the door. They won't go into rooms unless specifically requested. However, if you need a change of towels or garbage dump, they're always at the ready if you stop them in the hallway. Locations was good too. They are next door to the Ben & Jerry's factory (tours closed due to covid, but ice cream shop is open). Also, the hotel is about a 30 min drive (with traffic) to Stowe mountain. Hope to stay here again on a return trip to VT!

We had a really nice quick weekend stay at the Fairfield Inn Waterbury Stowe VT. I had really low expectations since it's a Fairfield but was pleasantly surprised. We actually booked another weekend there for March. It's nicely located, 20 minutes to ski in Stowe, about 20 minutes to the cute area in Burlington. Staff was top notch, they should train other hotels. They had typical fairfield breakfast with a nice addition of the Udis gluten free bagels which my celiac kid appreciated, coffee was available early morning and breakfast was constantly replenished. Room and hallways were really clean. No daily housekeeping but we are the type to always put a DND on our door and ask for towels before Covid so that doesn't bother us. The gym is really small, a couple of treadmills a bike and some weights. Both times I went in someone was on the other treadmill and masked up. They have a very small space to work with but it was clean and just what I needed. From the time we were greeted with a smile and a snack bag for Elites to the time we checked out (late 4pm given without any hesitation) I felt like a valued customer. I seriously can't find a thing wrong with this hotel other than the engineer that built the garage wasn't thinking that it's a ski area and people will have Thules on, clearance is too low for them. I wish all hotels were this friendly, clean and thoughtful, I've stayed at hotels twice this price that were total nightmares. Highly recommend!

Very appreciative of the extra leaning today and for the goody bag found upon returning to my room

Super friendly staff! I have an OCD with hair being left in the bathroom and there was quite a bit upon checking in. The cleaning staff was already gone for the day, but on my second day they paid extra attention in bathroom per my request. They also left me a goodie basket with chocolate, chips, and a bottled water as an apology, along with a nice note. Good breakfast options, (biscuits and gravy, eggs, waffles, cereal, a few toast options, fruit, oatmeal, etc) that changed daily. Locally roasted coffee and several juice options. Great location near the highway and town, close to Ben & Jerry's Factory, Cabot Dairy, Cindee Mill, and great dining options.

The gorgeous pool and hot tub!!

Excellent location, staff, and property. Very new. Very, very, nice hotel. It is a relatively small size which is so nice because it feels very quaint, even though it is a chain hotel. They have a small indoor parking garage which is nice since it has been snowing the entire week we have been here. It is tight so you may have to do some 5 point turns to get into or out of a space. Very clean. Sarah in housekeeping was a pleasure to talk with. She always had a big smile on and said hi every time we saw her. This place has been sparkling throughout our entire stay and she was the main reason. I saw her cleaning common areas every single day. Ben and Matt at the front desk are super friendly and helpful. The breakfast choices are plentiful and change every day. My favorite so far is the waffles and maple syrup. They have several choices of the very local Green Mountain coffee available 24/7. They also have a great little convenience shop next to the front desk including beer, wine, frozen meals, Ben and Jerry's ice cream, from literally next door. The pool and hot tub have been wonderful after being out in the Vermont cold all day. Also, in the early evening, they put out cookies for the guests. It's a little touch that we really enjoyed.

The reason for my chiming in about THIS Best Western in the Waterbury/Stowe area is because they actually have a sweet and attractive little covered bridge in the back of the hotel. I was so amused and thrilled with this finding, I just had to post about it... and especially since I am posting about every other covered bridge on my personal covered bridge tour of 2025. It was one of few places that had (a) availability the full duration we were visiting the area, and (b) consistently decent reviews. Our room: basic, but the bed and the bedding was clean and super comfortable. We slept quite comfortably, and the blackout curtains helped keep just enough light out. We often will use the bathroom light as our night light, and the bathroom was positioned in just a way that we didn't have light glaring at us as we slept. Noise didn't come easily through the door, so we weren't disturbed either by other guests in the hallway. Toiletries are standard and basic, but smelled lovely. Service: the infused water (they change fruits! Super fun and delicious) was a lovely touch, and the afternoon cookies were a wonderful surprise. And the breakfast had good variety of prepared and fresh items, so lots of choices for everyone! The staff were all also really friendly. The only negative was that our room smelled humid. Granted Vermont has had its share of rain this year, so we figured it was because of all the rain. There was also a patch in our bathroom that needed paint (it had been muddled, but not yet sanded or painted). These were the only negatives I could express about our stay.

The Old Stagecoach Inn was the only one that refused to offer any flexibility, citing that severe weather is a "foreseeable" risk and that I should have purchased trip insurance. I understand small businesses rely on reservations, but the response from management felt unnecessarilyj rigid and dismissive, especially compared to the empathy shown by other small, family owned Vermont inns. The staff was warm and friendly. I only have one criticism. While the A/C was working, we had difficulty regulating it to feel comfortable. It was rather cold and clammy at night, but by morning, we felt fine. It wasn't so much the cold part that bothered me, but the clammy part was what got to me. Everyone kept saying how unseasonably hot and humid it was for Stowe, so who knows... maybe the A/C just had difficulty regulating itself... or we didn't know how to use it properly. It wasn't bad, per se, but it was a little uncomfortable some of the time. The room overall, though, was really great. Also, we loved that they had Netflix and Amazon Prime, so we could settle into the shows we were missing while traveling. That was a nice surprise ! Most hotels don't offer any of that. We had planned to dine out at one of the local restaurants, but we found out they were serving dinner at Grant's, the inn's restaurant. We were tired after traveling around all day, so we stayed at the inn and ate a great meal at Grant's. (See separate review for that.) Also, the common areas in the main building next to the restaurant are very tastefully appointed, spacious, with lots of games, books and sitting areas for people to utilize. We walked around them to see what there was but returned to our room to relax and watch some of our shows. My only regret was that we couldn't stay longer.
