I thought my GPS was leading me astray - again! - when it took me through a downtown-y residential area with older, two-storey houses. However, when I saw the pack of cars parked on the side of the street, I knew something good MUST be around. :) As you enter, there's a counter with breads behind it and cash register. And on the other side, is where some magical stuff happens, i.e. the hot table. I hesitate even writing this here, but the prices are AH-MAZING. Chicken Parm sandwich sm for $5, lg for $6?? AND since they ran out of large buns, they gave me 2 smaller ones for $6?? WHA...I'm not good at math, but isn't that like B1G1! I really hope that the owners can't decode my shorthand. Anyway, I didn't even explore the back room and that's where, apparently have cold cut sandwiches...which are also supposed to be good. Sandwich comes on one of the buns they bake on-site, your choice of spicy or mild tomato-based sauces, fried onions, and like 2 pieces of nicely seasoned Chicken parmesan. So delicious that you don't care if you're outside, sitting on the curb, eating it with sauce and onions dripping all over your shirt. Looking like a complete schlameel. Check this place out! P.S. SHHH...and don't tell too many people about it.

As a family owned Portuguese bakery, they serve their signature sub-sandwiches: turkey, Black Forest ham, prosciutto, veggie, all but the kitchen sink. Not only are their buns freshly baked in house - they taste amazing and most sandwiches are only $3. What a deal! They also serve other lunchtime dishes like lasagna and soup but their sandwiches are to kill for - think Black Friday or Boxing Day frenzy. It's that good. They also have freshly baked goodies but it's first come first serve. Come with a few bucks and leave with a huge lunch. Pro tip: the Black Forest ham sandwich is superb.

Packets of the yellow mustard was a nice condiment along with the mayonnaise. Good price of $9.00 and they also had the Francesinha sandwich with fries and a fried soft partly runny egg on top but was $25.00 which had thin sliced ham, chorizo sausage and bifana , It was very good but a bit pricey and small in size compared to the European version. They had the 3 flavors of Sumol and also beers but were out of Super Bock. The Natas were good but were not fresh out of the oven rather it was room temperature and $2.50 each which is also the same price for the juice. The service was top notch. Order taker was also the server was very nice. Food came at a decent waiting time. We were the only ones there but she was still very friendly. Ambiance was a simple cafe with seven sitting areas with mostly table for two and a couple of tables for 4. There was the Portuguese radio station playing in the background with some music. They also had the Portuguese news from PT playing in the background. Overall it was very good.

My biggest issue is reliability. I've placed orders ahead of time, only to arrive and be told they aren't ready until much later than promised. It makes it very difficult to plan your day when a "guaranteed" pickup time isn't honoured. To make matters worse, the customer service is disappointing. When I tried to politely voice my concerns on their Facebook page, I wasn't met with an apology or a solution--they simply blocked me. It's pretty unprofessional to silence feedback rather than address the underlying service issues. Pros: * Beautiful shop and great atmosphere. Cons: * Unreliable: Orders are rarely ready when promised. * Payment Restrictions: They don't accept debit or credit, which is a huge inconvenience in this day and age. * Poor Communication: Unwilling to handle customer feedback online. Overall, while the bakery looks the part, the lack of professionalism and the "cash only" hurdle make it hard to recommend. I'll likely be taking my business elsewhere

This small shop located in Leslieville serves up some great sandwiches in a space that is primarily take out only (although there are a few bar/counter spots if you'd like to eat there. They are also open daily from 11am to 9pm. Menu wise, there are 9-10 kinds of sandwiches to choose from. They are all served on a sesame kaiser roll and cut in half. You're also able to add on ingredients on top of the already selected ones in the sandwiches. Each of Lambo's Deli locations also have a special sandwich, where this time when I went, it was the crispy chicken club. They also have soft serve as well (rotating flavours!). I stopped by Lambo's Deli on a Monday morning before the lunch rush and opted to grab: - Italian trio sandwich (soppressata, mortadella, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, picked red onion, arugula, pesto, Calabrian chili spread) - $18 - Soft serve (flavour was hojicha) -$5 Service was friendly and I received my soft serve while waiting for my sandwich to be prepared. It took about 5 min and it was nicely packed. Staff were great and handed me a handful of napkins as well. I ate my sandwich an hour later and before opening the packaging, the sandwich was pretty heavy! Looking at a cross section of the sandwich, it was packed with ingredients! The Italian Trio sandwich was delicious. The roasted red peppers, pickled red onion, arugula, and Calabrian chili spread added freshness to the sandwich which didn't make it feel so heavy with all the deli meats inside as well as the mozzarella cheese. The sandwiches are big and I could only finish half for lunch. Overall, a delicious sandwich shop in Leslieville. Lambo's Deli definitely packs a lot of ingredients in their sandwiches which make for a tasty meal. Be warned, the sandwiches are huge! Also...don't miss out on their soft serve too!

We decided to start with the Bruschetta ("Freshly Baked Bread Topped With Tomatoes"), and it's a solid appetizer. It's basically a very tasty dough covered in well-seasoned, fresh-tasting tomatoes. It's good. It in no way prepared me for the next-levelness of our main. We opted for the Mortadella Panuozzo ("Mortadella, Cream Of Pistachio, Stracciatella"). I took one bite and I was immediately blown away. All the flavors work so well together, and that super fresh panuozzo ties the sandwich together perfectly. Immediately after leaving the restaurant, my dining companion looked at me and asked if I was as bowled over as he was. We both agreed it was one of the best sandwiches we'd ever eaten. It's crazy. They know what they're doing at Crudo, that's for sure. I can't wait to go back and try some of their other offerings (although let's be real, I'll probably get that Mortadella panuozzo every time I return.)

What we…read morefound awesome was that they had these chimney cakes, which I had never heard of before but apparently originated in Transylvania. It was basically just this hollowed-out sort of stromboli or bagel, so to speak. What was really cool was that it was very crispy and delicately cooked and baked with spices on the outside while being very flaky and almost croissant-like on the inside. There were savory options and sweet options. We ended up getting the everything bagel option and it was absolutely delightful. My only regret is that we didn't buy three or four more for the road. We stumbled upon this place when we were walking around Niagara on the Lake and we were so happy we came in. When we came out eating, people passing by were asking where we got that and what it was, and around the shop everyone could be seen eating these chimney cakes. It was absolutely delightful. I loved it. You probably will as well.
