We then realized one of the staff had been sitting at a table with friends the entire time. To their credit they did get up as we approached the counter. A picture is worth a 1000 words. The fries were cooked just right, and the onion rings were incredible: crispy and crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. You can tell they take pride in making a quality burger. It was very unfortunate because the bun was nice and soft with a good structural integrity just like I like it, the toppings were crisp and fresh, but the burger patty is the soul of the burger. In this case that soul needed to get itself to church a bit more to do some internal searching. My wife's burger was similar, and her bacon was also somehow cheap and flavorless. This is a huge blind spot for Chester's, the signature product needs to be better than this. My rating system is pretty basic, if you're a somewhere that I wouldn't tell you to go even if it was right around the corner from you that's going to be a two star. Unfortunately Chester's is going to fall into that category. There are the bones of a great restaurant here, but work needs to be done.
