I had the morning wrecker. It's a split homemade biscuit with chicken fried steak, hash browns, and 2 eggs all topped with gravy and melted cheese on top. It was so good and I ended up taking half back home. The others got the normal chicken fried and eggs and the brisket hash. Which they each loved. Make sure you get a grilled biscuit!

I ordered an iced vanilla coffee and the small chicken fried steak & eggs. I had my eggs over easy. For my sides I picked the seasoned farmhouse potatoes with onions and tomatoes and a biscuit. My chicken fried steak and eggs were delicious. I think my potatoes could have used a bit more seasoning. The biscuit was big, warm and tasty! I would come back to order biscuits to go. I'm glad I ordered the small portion because it was filling. I had half of my biscuit leftover. My boyfriend ordered a coffee and the smoked brisket & cheddar omelet. For his sides he got the hash browns and a grilled biscuit. The omelet was delicious and the grilled biscuit was okay to me. My boyfriend enjoyed all of his meal! Our server was friendly and attentive. No complaints on the service. I think we will definitely have to come back!

The bear aesthetic is so much fun!…read more My fiancé and I went to Black Bear Diner for a late night dinner about an hour and a half before closing. We were seated quickly and our orders were taken shortly after. Other than ourselves and one other couple in the midst of their meal, the place was empty with one messy table evidence someone else had just left. One staff member came out to bus said table and sweep the dining area while we waited, and the kitchen was bustling loudly while they prepared our order for what felt like a rather long time for a single order. If nothing else, it gave us ample time to check out the dessert and beverage menu. Side note, the menu printed on the inside of their Black Bear Diner 'Newspapers' was pretty cute. Our drinks came out well in advance, and the Hot Chocolate I ordered was pretty yummy. It was sweet and rich, and the thick whipped cream on top was just as tasty. When our order finally came out, it felt worth the wait. My Classic Eggs Benedict was simply amazing and massive in portion. The poached eggs and ham were cooked just right and topped two thick English muffin halves, and the abundant Hollandaise sauce had an excellent zesty kick to it. There was so much of it that I had enough to dip my Sweet Potato Fries in and have even more left over! My fiancé's omelette was pretty good as well, but we both agreed the Eggs Benedict was the better of the two. It didn't help that his Hash Browns were severely overcooked and not worth attempting to eat. I think we'd both like to return but at an earlier hour. Hopefully then our meal will come out faster and without anything burned. Still, it was a delicious enough experience to the extent that we're eager to try more from their menu.

Amazing food and service! Finally a good place to eat in…read moreSan Antonio! Will definitely be going back again

Kabayan Kusina was a lunch stop with someone and we ordered a pretty good variety... lumpia, pancit…read morebihon, crispy pork belly roll, and pork BBQ sticks. The lumpia is made to order so it comes out hot and fresh. It's packed with seasoned ground beef and you can tell the difference. We got the pancit bihon with pork and the balance of protein and veggies was really good. We added their house made chili oil to the noodles and honestly that was the move. Nobody around town makes chili oil like that. The crispy pork belly roll was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, stuffed with herbs, garlic, and onion. The aromatics really enhance the dish and took it to the next level! The pork BBQ sticks were juicy and you could taste the marinade. The sauce leaned sweet but with everything else on the table it balanced out really well. This is a Filipino family owned and operated business and it shows. The staff is really friendly and you can tell they take pride in what they're serving. They also have a small selection of Filipino grocery and food items if you want to take something home. If you're on the northwest side of San Antonio, this place is worth the visit! TikTok: @gabbieinthegalley
