Went to Yale Burger Barn and it was nice and spacious, very clean and great service. Our order inside came plated on really nice plates. Food was pretty good, but would suggest real turkey versus thicker cut lunch meat that did not really taste like turkey in the turkey ruben and bread was nice, but needed to taste more rye. The Slim Jim could be better with shaved ham crisped just a little on a grill before putting in the sandwich versus a too thick piece of ham. The coconut shrimp with hashbrowns were a nice big portion, but the coconut shrimp should be served with a jelly grape or plum type sauce versus the red cocktail sauce - hashbrowns were cooked perfect. Overall we really like the restaurant but would try different things. The small side salad could be a little less pricey wise as well since nothing comes with the sandwich. read more

As I walked in I noticed that it was a small quaint place, all the tables were full. Waitress who helped me with my carryout was very nice and polite. I got the veggie stir fry it was$9.99 and it was so good and huge, it came with pita bread also... Would definitely recommend. read more

Huge portions, very cheap prices. Have ordered multiple salads (around $9 each) that have made multiple meals (enormous sides generous meat). Have always ordered take out and had quick service and good food. read more

Removing my 5 star rating. This restaurant doesn't care enough about their customers to have servers wear the required masks during the coronavirus pandemic. Nobody was wearing a mask....the chefs included. I no longer feel safe eating food prepared here. read more

Loved this place when it first opened. Taylor and Cheyenne were always wonderful to us and seemed to be the only long term employees/waitresses. Alway seeing posts that they hiring, we now know why. Owner/cook treats the girls terribly and has no customer service skills. Belittles the waitresses in front of customers and is rude to customers. Will never go back, will not give my money to someone who treats his wonderful employees so terrible. read more

So my wife and I ate this place lot's of time loved it every time. This time was ungodly my wife got a burger without onions he loaded it with it. My wife asked to return the burger to waitress and back to the cook. The owner/cook came out yelling saying if don't like my food go the f*** down and get it from somewhere else. Mind you there was at least 12 people in the little restaurant. There was a nice lady yelled hey, hey, hey there's no reason to talk to her like that. Instead of losing my cool I asked the owner there's no reason to talk to my wife like that. So please think before you go to this place. read more

Very friendly staff. Greeted me as soon as I walked in. First time here, unfortunately I couldn't stay for lunch. I was here on a different mission to buy lunch for the business next-door to them thank them for their hard work. The gal that was running the front counter was very friendly and helpful in setting up the order for me to be delivered and even the chef in the back greeted me as I walked in.I'm definitely returning so that I can enjoy the food myself next time! read more

Rating coming soon as I sit here and make my review, waitress just greeted us kind of seems as if she's got too many tables bc wasn't too friendly at all. My wife and I ordered two breakfast items, a pita and a burger. My youngest daughter is only 5 months old so we had to bring a bottle and a teething cookie, as i gave her the cookie the waitress rudley says you better hide that before my boss comes out he doesn't like any outside food or drink in here...I was like ok she is too young to order a burger and fries she's only 5months..and she's like I know I'm sorry...so I was like ok is her baby bottle ok to have in here?? Ridiculous..I just paid for 4 meals and I'm getting crap for having a baby in here? Waitress has been friendly the last 5 minutes maybe bc she sees I'm doing a review. Food is pretty good my burger looks nice and a good portion. Reading the other reviews on here the owner must have a temper. Have to give 2 stars on this based on not feeling very welcome. Stopped in here for the first time today. Considering the name of the place is Burger Barn, I decided to get a regular old cheeseburger and fries. My burger was the best I have had in a long time and the fires are amazing too. The Burger Barn has quickly jumped to the top of my list for lapeer area food stops. If you want a burger you want to stop here. The waitresses were quick and kind. The restaurant is clean and comes with a small town local feel without being stingy and worn out. It's bright open and inviting. Great food, kind and attentive staff, and a nice dining area. I'm excited to come back and try the rest of the menu. read more

Food was delicious and plenty of it for a very reasonable price. Definitely will be back. Normally I can finish a sandwich but had to bring my club sandwich and some fries, which were crispy and perfectly cooked, home. What a treat again the next day. read more

The owner/cook has no idea what customer service is. He felt the need to come and yell at my table in front of the dining room for taking up a table even though we were paying customers and the restaurant was not busy. He also gave me attitude for not eating my food and not wanting a box to take it home. Reading other reviews, it seems this is a common occurrence. It was a horrible experience and I do not recommend ever dining here. The food was mediocre at best. read more
