Pretty sub average experience. Food was ok, I got the grilled cheeseburger and my girlfriend got the normal cheeseburger. Unfortunate thing was there was a hair on hers and my plate. Didn't notice until the end. Service was sub par as well, asked for ranch, never received it. Had to ask for water twice. Lastly, it was 40 dollars for two burgers and iced teas. The best item of this meal was the fried mozzarella sticks.... Don't expect what comes to your table to remotely resemble the picture on the menu. The kids chicken taco came on a flat over heated stiff flour tortilla with chicken and cheese. The picture shows a 'pretty' taco in a holder (indicating a softer tortilla) with chicken cheese lettuce tomato. The look of disappointment on our granddaughter's face spoke volumes. She did try 2 bites. The quesadilla burger was dry, overcooked and had zero flavor. The mushroom Swiss burger was the same but it came with burnt onion rings. The only reason for 2 stars was our waitress was at least trying to do a good job. read more

I pretty much always and very regularly use Car Side, so my comments are specific to take out though I do not see how my experience would have been any different had I choose to dine in, other then I would have just walked out. Yesterday I ordered one of my regular go to dishes, a rack of ribs with Asian sauce. The ribs were TERRIBLE. As I said this is a regular staple for me, at least up until yesterday. These were not the same style of ribs I have gotten over the many years I have had them. The ribs were really fatty and chewy, far from fall off the bone. The effort just to pull the meat from the bone was a great disappointment. The membrane on the back side of the ribs was not removed, which anyone who knows how to cook ribs, knows to remove it. After two ribs I gave up. it wasn't worth the effort needed to bite the fatty meat from the bone and when I was able to pull the meat from the bone it was very chewy and the only flavor came from the sauce on it. I called to complain to management and all I got was lip service and finger pointing to the supplier. I am not sure how the meat supplier is responsible for how the ribs are prepared, but at least they didn't have to assume any responsibility for the disappointing meal I paid for. It really bites because there are so few places to get good food in Lapeer and now there is one less. After this as well as other recent experiences where the food was not to the level I have come to expect from Applebee's tell me things have really slipped their and managements response or lack there of, tell me they do not see any need to change the current course. The fact that just for the ribs cost me $26 without tip didn't help. I will go next door to Blind Fish, despite the name, I have never been disappointed in the ribs or steaks I have gotten. PS A rack of ribs at Blond Fish is $17 + tax. The largest 18 oz. Prime Rib is also cheaper than the ribs I got at Applebee's and you get a lot more food plus bread sticks. After decades of eating at Appleebee's globally I am done with them. read more

Excellent service; Jaime was our server and she was fantastic. It was standard Applebee's food, so there were no surprises. Kid one wasn't thrilled with her chicken strips, but I think that's because she wanted to fill up on my tortilla chips. Kid two liked his chicken strips just time. I had the always delicious appetizer trough and the hubs tried something new - the prime rib French dip...which he liked. Well we had hard ribs, dry Alfredo pasta and overcooked burgers for $54.00 The worst part about this experience was the lack of service from the server; we never complained as he only came for drinks, twice and was not apart of taking the order, bringing us our food or coming back to check on us. I must say, this was a surprise. I had dined at Applebee's a couple times in the past and wasn't happy with the food quality. This was maybe 7-8 years ago, in other locations. This Lapeer location even though I dreaded the selection of having dinner here, ended up really nice. The food was really good, and it was rather inexpensive. We had the quesadilla burger and endless fries. Then my wife and daughter picked out the 2 for $29 deals, and they were happy with their food! We were all satisfied. You also get a free appetizer when you check in on Yelp! Must buy an entree though. But well worth it. The wonton chicken tacos are great. read more

I do like the pretzels and the wanton tacos are pretty good. I got bourbon chicken, it was so meh, not anything exciting. My salad was pathetic. My dressing was supposed to be Mexi ranch. It was like water with some chunks of tomato. My chicken lime nachos were a pile of mushy garbage. I will try to remember not to eat Applebee's again. Applebee's has always been a regular spot for my family. We just moved out to North Branch and Lapeer is the closest location (about a 15 minute drive). We stopped in the other night for AYCE riblets, chicken tenders, and shrimp. The location was very busy on Friday night, but the wait went very quickly. Our service was quick and friendly. She was extremely nice and patient with my kids which I appreciate. I started with a riblet plate with Texas Spicy sauce. It was a great portion plus you get bottomless fries and cole slaw as well. I followed with a chicken tender refill. Our server suggested if we wanted a refill we should order ahead since the kitchen was so busy which worked out great. It can be a gamble at some places with all you can eat deals, but Applebee's delivered some great quality food and service on this night. We will be back! read more

My wife and I went to Apple Bees a couple times a month but we stopped going there because of this my wife had a metal brush piece in her steak. No lie it's true it jammed up into the top her mouth causing it to bleed. We showed the manager she apologized up and down we even got a free meal out of it. Been here a couple of times. Food is what I'd expect from an Applebee's and our server was friendly enough, but a bit over the top. Most of the servers were too casual in their interaction with each other, acting as if they were at someone's house rather than being a respectable, professional server. I'd have to agree with the previous reviews regarding the music. WAY too loud for a dining experience. Being that the playlist was mostly hip-hop, my guess was it was mostly for the servers and not for the middle aged/older patrons in the restaurant. After a pretty stressed day, there is nothing better than to hit a happy hour and to make yourself... well, happy! I did a quick google search for happy hours in the area and Applebee's popped up. I am not a fan of fan places normally but I thought with the $3 app menu and 1/2 off drinks, we could give this place a try. It was a decent option. We were greeted quickly by a very friendly waitress named Mariah- and she was very attentive and fun the whole visit! She made some great suggestions and talked to us about the area. We ordered multiple talls- Angry Orchard, Summer Ale, Two Hearted, Alaska Amber and Modelo Especial... not a bad deal at $3 each! For food, we ordered the mozzarella sticks ($4 and delicious); Pub pretzels (just ok, the honey mustard was delicious) and the double crunchy wings (which were pretty good). Honestly the worst service ever. We were told as soon as we walked in that a table of six was too much for the night time waitress, so can we please either sit at the bar or at a smaller table with half our party in the isle. Meanwhile a booth meant for a large party sat open, until the WONDERFUL bartender insisted the waitress do her job and let us be seated. Took an hour to get our appetizers, but then they got half our orders wrong. THEN tell us that they're out of an item that half the table ordered. Food came out luke warm, but by that time the group was starving. We made due. It's hard to enjoy a mediocre meal with your waitress complaining about her job the entire time, and how everything that went wrong is someone else's fault Spoke to the manager afterwards, and she was very apologetic about the situation..
