From the outside it looks small, but on the inside it's pretty nice size. Really cute place. On the lake. Spaghetti was ok. But to me it was too watery. Needed to be thicker. I don't like a lot of sauce but this didn't have enough. Also cheese was like a cheap cheese when cold it got hard. Bread sticks were good. A bit crispy but it worked. Cream cheese sauce was so good just enough garlic in it. His au ju sandwich (idk exactly what it was lol) but he said the meat was a bit cooked too much as it was charred. Overall I would go again. Service was good. But the plate guys was on point with picking up the dirty dishes!! read more

It's Lent season once again and no better place in Lapeer than the good old Lake Inn for it's fish selection. While we experienced a short wait for a table, once seated we had attentive service. I chose the Sauteed Perch and the Whitefish dinner for my wife. Both came with soup or salad, I chose the Clam Chowder and the wife had a salad plus a starch. I oprlyed for the rice and wife the baked Potato. The perch was perfect and the Whitefish slightly over cooked but not worth complaining. Great place and worth coming back to. read more

The chicken caprese sandwich was very good I don't usually like balsamic but it was done very well on this sandwich. The only thing I can complain about is that it was pretty greasy. My son didn't care too much for the Alfredo he said it was just okay. My husband said he wouldn't get the steak sandwich again it was dry and just wasn't good. The bread was okay it looked better than it tasted unfortunately because it's quite expensive. If you get to go and it's nice outside sit on the deck! It's beautiful. Despite the large line on Mother's day, my daughter and I were seated immediately. Love the atmosphere especially being on the water.....we are coming back in the future to sit outside! We ordered delicious drinks...one was a Mother's day special but the one that took the cake was my daughter's blueberry mule. Wow! We shared food from the mothers day menu....crab cakes with a lobster sauce and BBQ pulled pork quesadilla from the regular menu. All amazing, prompt service despite how busy they were. Absolutely awesome. Just moved up here on Jan 1. Came here for lunch with guys from my new job. It was great! Decided to bring the wife here for supper. WOW!! I had the full rack of ribs which I could not finish. My wife had the burnt ends Mac and cheese which was also huge. The drinks were potent and affordable. My wife is a margarita lover and really liked the blueberry margarita. The BBQ sauce has a bit of a kick but is amazing! I'm sure we will become regulars here! Lake Inn is absolutely one of my favorite places to dine by the water. They have an amazing selection of beers and spirits. The food is always on point, HIGHLY recommend the French Onion soup. The service is second to none especially if Tommy is taking care of you. read more

Called to notify we had a party of over 10 people coming in around 30 min. Asked me for all preferences and said see you then. Got to restaurant 30 min later to be told hour wait. Would have been nice had they told me about the wait when I called. Waited a hour to be seated... ordered ribeye steak medium rare ..came to table well done. Notified waitress.. waited for another steak only to have a raw steak set down. Manager said well, we are busy sorry about that. No real concern about how bad the cook is at managing time or not knowing how to cook a steak. Manager was just extremely rude and could have cared less. She should spend more time with the cooks and less time tanning and applying makeup. Not impressed! read more

We came here for the first time with friends hoping to enjoy the nice weather. When we sat on the patio, we were seated at a table where a folded down umbrella pole was fully blocking our view of each other so we couldn't have a proper conversation. We then folded it up not because of the sun, but because we couldn't make eye contact to actually talk to each other. About 10 minutes later, a bus boy came out and just started rolling the umbrella back down and said "the manager told me to come out and roll the umbrella down because there is no point in having them up. sorry, I don't get paid enough to do this. they told me if you don't like it, we can throw your asses inside." We asked to speak to a manager, since not only was what the bus boy said incredibly rude, but we were also confused as to why we weren't allowed to have the umbrella up. We just wanted to be able to make eye contact with the people we were having a meal with. The manager Jenny had the nerve to say that the reasoning was due to "high gusts and winds" and that they were worried about the umbrellas flying away. Which would have been more than fair, if the water wasn't completely still with the winds measuring a measly 7MPH and furthermore she contradicted her statement when we asked for them to remove the umbrellas and the answer to our question was that they were "reinforced and anchored down." On the plus side, Abby our waitress was lovely, and the food was great. The manager Jenny however, had nothing but ridiculous excuses as to why we couldn't keep the umbrella up during our meal. We even offered to put it back down before we left. Jenny certainly had a lot of confidence to walk out there and say they're concerned about high winds when 1. the air was as still as I've ever felt and 2. Jenny's contradicted statement about the umbrellas being reinforced and anchored. the food was decent, however we will not be back due to this. read more

I've been to the lake in many times & usually have a good meal , but tonite I ordered the perch special & was so surprised to see what they gave me , there only 3 very small pieces of perch and when I showed it to the waitress see said she couldn't do anything! I wish I would have taken a picture because there was such a small amount of perch, like 3 small pieces about 4 inches long, back to back they equaled maybe 1& 1/2 piece! Cost me 18 dollars!!! We have been to Lake Inn twice, first trying the seafood platter and second the prime rib. Both entrees were okay, but not great. The prime rib was first served without the au jus. I've been there twice, weekday nights, with several friends. Food was very greasy, pork chops were dried out, salad was all iceberg with no greens, and was wilted. The cod was mushy and grainy. The best meals we tried were those with the marinated chicken breasts that are in several menu items. The ham, bacon and cheese sandwich was delicious although the bacon dripped with grease. The beer menu is fairly long but supermarket-level in breadth. Beer prices are not on the menu and resulted in a few surprises when the bill arrived. Finally, please, somebody needs to scrub the toilet bowls once in a while and deal with the flies on the patio. I understand that midweek kitchen staff are often the B team at most places but the oiliness of all the fried food was still unusual even for that. Perhaps a weekend night will have better food. The size of the crowd suggested that this place usually pleases people and perhaps the Lake Inn doesn't always have enough cooks to do a proper job. read more

Wow, where do I start? I came into burton to meet up with my uncle. My aunt passed away recently, and I wanted to come up and hang out with him. Lake inn was one of his favorite places to go. It was my second time coming here. But apparently, he has been coming here for years and golfing at the golf course nearby, and he told me about the add-on and how small this place used to be. So I went with the Fish and chips. I forget what my uncle got, but he said it was good it was on special. My Fish and chips were delicious. Our server was pretty awesome. I am sorry that I am not giving her a shout-out right now because she was awesome, and she dealt with my 85-year-old uncle like a charm. This place is awesome good food, great atmosphere. Agree with David M. "Don't order the perch". Mushy!! Worst dinner ever! Felt sick afterwards. My wife ordered the Walleye special, very salty. Not much there to eat at 18.99. Side salad was just iceburg lettuce. The manager came and asked her "How was your dinner" Reply was:" Not very good, very salty, if I had it to do over again, I would order something different" The manager just looked at her, took the dishes and walked off. Came to celebrate daughter's birthday,what a fun place! Sat on the deck overlooking the lake. We started with coconut shrimp and cheese sticks,both were piping hot and served with a nice dipping sauce. I ordered the chicken caprese sandwich with balsamic drizzle,very good, hubby loved his Steak sandwich,very tender. Daughter had a awesome looking burger, could only eat half. It is a bit of a hike from Lake Orion but well worth the trip. The ambiance is up north cabin style. The service is on par for this type of restaurant. The real draw is the food and the view. It is located on a lake and the food is excellent. I recommend the potato soup and the ribeye. Absolutely out of this world and a good bargain. When most places are charging $50+ for a good steak, this budget friendly establishment is a welcome change. We have been back multiple times and had a great experience every time. read more
