Bloody Mary and a little beer for $5. Try it with cucumber vodka.

Really awesome guy that owns this bar. I used to live across the street and we'd run over and do shots then all of us would run back to my house. Just went back with a group after the funeral of a good friend and the waitress was awesome. She was so good to us! And Bloody Mary's are $5 and you get a small beer with it. Made me realize I missed this place!!

Room full of very satisfied customers!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Merl's! We hosted my mom's retirement party here a few days ago, and Tim, the owner, was amazing right from the start. He set aside half the bar for our party, had his servers line up the tables ahead of time and even allowed me to come in and decorate ahead of time. The bartenders were so very friendly and attentive, and even though there were a decent amount of folks in our group - about 40, not to mention the other half of the bar had a load of regulars - no one ever had an empty glass. Food here is wonderful, too; in fact, we chose Merl's because my mom raves about their coney nachos. Had some, and wow, she wasn't lying!! Drink prices are crazy good, food is yummy, plentiful and very, very affordable, too. What made the biggest impression on me, having never been before, was the smell. This place smells like it opened yesterday, and I'm told it's been around going on three years! Everything was so... CLEAN! Even the bathrooms were spotless and fresh-smelling. Lots and lots of light from all the windows, too. I can definitely see why they have so many faithful regulars; it's definitely going to be a stop for me each time I come back to town. Kudos to Merl and the girls, for running a top-notch business! Could NOT have been more thrilled with everything! Thank you so much!!

Always fun. Limited menu but good bar food. Great sports bar, and lots of specials like trivia and comedy nights.

Hunter's Ale House - Cajun chicken club with fries

A friend who lives in the area recommended this spot for dinner after I finished a shift working at…read moreCMU. We met up on a weekday around 5:30 and it was pretty empty so we were seated right away. The booth we sat in was comfy and spacious. The menu is pretty typical brewpub fare, with sandwiches, salads, pizzas, etc. We started with the Hunter's sticks, which are cheese stuffed breadsticks, served with ranch and marinara. These came out first and I liked that they were cut into pieces for easy sharing. The breadsticks were a bit harder than I might have preferred (I was hoping for something closer to a soft Bosco stick) but they were still tasty. The ranch was particularly delicious. For dinner I ordered the steakhouse salad, medium rare. Nate got the Cajun chicken club sandwich and our friend got a crispy chicken wrap. The sandwiches and wraps come with either chips or fries, and our server told us that there's no up charge for fries, which is nice and not that typical. This is also a brewery so Nate tried a couple of their beers and seemed to like them. They also have a full bar. The food was quite tasty! I liked the salad although it was pretty salty, probably the bleu cheese dressing. There was a generous amount of steak and it was cooked nicely. I had a couple bites of Nate's sandwich and I thought it had great flavor. Overall this is a nice neighborhood spot that I'd come back to, since their menu is pretty large and it seems like there's something for everyone.

Such bad service. Went with my family for brunch got here at 11 did not get food until 1:30. The…read moreplace was empty and the Mannager Damion just stood around talking to the same table the entire time.
