I love chicken wings and I've finally found a restuarant that does it right - Buffalo Wild Wings in Saginaw, Michigan.
For the food, I highly recommend the traditional wings with the honey bbq sauce. I tried the parmesean garlic once and I thought it was disgusting, but that's my personal opinion. I have also had their nachos with chicken and that's always turned out fabulous as well. Unfortunately, the food is the only thing I REALLY love about this restaurant. The rest of it, well...
As for service, I warn new Bdubbers that sometimes you're going to end up waiting. During my worst visit, I waited about twenty minutes to be seated, ten minutes to have my drink order taken, twenty more minutes until my food order was taken, and then another forty-five minutes before my food was brought to me (they "forgot" to put my order in). Although I complained to my waitress (who I wasn't even sure was my waitress because they have so many different people come to your table), they didn't do anything to compensate for my wait or frustration. Yea, the manager apologized but that was it. No coupons, no discount...nothing. So if you're going to BDubs, don't go starving or you'll pass out from hunger pains.
For the quality of service, I'm neutral. A lot of the waitresses that work there went to high school with me. So during my meal, I'm either trying to avoid eye contact with some of the girls I didn't get along with or I'm trying to get my waitress-friends to leave me alone so I can eat in peace. I also don't like how the restaurant works in shifts. There's the hostess, main waitress, drink waitress, and then the waitress that brings the food. For me, it always makes it hard for me to decide what type of tip I'm leaving because I'm not sure who's getting it or if they split it.
Pricing is okay depending on what you get and what day you go. I always go to BDubs on Tuesdays since the traditional wings are only $0.45 a piece. Otherwise, if I go any other day, I can pay almost $20.00 for a meal that doesn't include fries or an appetizer. Also, don't buy the queso dip...it's $6.00 and if you use it all, they'll charge you another $6.00 to refill it. I definitely think this restaurant is over priced.
Now, the atmosphere of the restaurant is definitely defined as a sports bar. There are TV's covering every inch of wall space and you can barely hear yourself think since it's so loud. Personally, I like to sit outside where it isn't quite as noisy. Also, there aren't quite as many televisions out on the porch area.
The parking can be a nightmare depending on what time of day you go. During lunch hours, you'll be fine. During dinner or later, you might have to park next door in the Art Van parking lot. I don't understand why the parking lot is so small when the restaurant can sit almost 300 people. It just doesn't make sense.
Overall, I gave the restaurant 3 stars because the food is fabulous and it's a great place to go with friends as long as you're not starving and you have time to waste just sitting there. I wish I could give it 4 stars, but the cons outweight the pros of this particular restaurant. read more
