MacKenzie took excellent care of the 3 of us. The wait was reasonable, about 10 minutes, until we got our table. We had mac crab, (so good !) pancakes, salad, omelette and yummy potatoes. I don't think I've ever had better green beans because of the garlic they added. Look for that on the menu. Located right at the corner of Genesee and Court near downtown Lapeer. Parking was easy. My family and I have been coming to krave sense they opened. The food & service is great for both dine in and carry out. My favorite breakfast is the chicken with sugar waffles. The kids love the smores pancakes, omlettes, or regular pancakes. For lunch they have really good burgers too! Shout out to the owner for giving free kids meals when purchasing an adult entree. We loved this place when they first opened but they have since changed their menu and portion sizes. We used to go for the fried fish dinner and they got rid if the aoli they used to serve with it and they changed the cut of the fish. We got the chicken this time and it was okay but the mashed potatoes were disgusting. They were thick and old and the gravy was very artificial canned/jar tasting. Potatoes not crispy seems as if put in fryer drained waiting for next order. The biscuits and gravy very disappointing. I took 1 bite and tossed the rest. It tasted like processed bagged gravy and biscuits not homemade. They were cold, dried, very dense. Seems like premade processed biscuits. Far from fresh flaky biscuits. This used to be a local restaurant I frequently went to breakfast and enjoyed the #1 special. Unfortunately Covid forced them out of business. The name has been changed and now it's KRAVE. The redesign inside and outside is really well done and brings a classy feel and warm atmosphere when you pull up and walk in. I ordered the fish tacos with a side of steak fries. I was blown away with the flavor and taste of the fish tacos. I was Reminded of a little fishing village in Mexico called Puerto Morelos. They had the best fresh fish tacos prior to KRAVE. The Kansas City Steak with wild rice and mashed potatoes is another great option. Full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Wild rice and potatoes paired well with the steak. Last but not least the service was fantastic. I wish I remembered the name of our waitress but I can't. Old age kicks in again. When i asked our waitress why it was taking so long she barked at me that they had a big carry out they were busy with. Some guy came out of the kitchen to give us excuses why we had no food. Stopped on a Sunday morning on our way back to Wisconsin. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean. The service was very good. She kept the coffee and sodas filled. I had the chicken and waffles and my partner had an omlett. Waffles were sweet and the breading on the chicken was perfect. The bacon and cheese omlett was full of bacon and cooked to perfection. We were looking for a good breakfast place while visiting the area. I looked on Yelp and saw Krave had nice reviews so we decided to give it a try. My stepdaughter was on crutches due to a knee surgery and was a bit slow going as we came into the restaurant. We were sweetly greeted by Mary Lou. She asked us if we wanted a booth or table to which we did not have a preference. However, she thought my stepdaughter would be more comfortable at a table. She took us to a table and got the chair adjusted for her and everything. She was the best!!! It was fairly busy but the waitress was still very attentive with taking our orders, making sure we had coffee refills, and anything else we needed. All the waitstaff was working so diligently. Kudos to them!! Our food was delicious. I had a veggie omelette that had fresh vegetables. They were not soggy and the country potatoes were huge. The fresh fruit cup was just that, FRESH. I eat here several times when I'm in town. The food is always great. If there is an issue they fix it. Lots of great menu choices and quality food. I love the pancake choices! The waitstaff is outstanding even when busy. If it tends to be slower than usual, it's because they are so busy. I don't mind because the food is so good. First time trying out this restaurant in Lapeer on Saturday June 26, 2021. We got there sometime around 11:30am ish....The reviews online had been mostly good, and the parking lot was pretty full so that was a good sign. Going in, it looked very new and clean. As far as any leftover Covid protocols go-no staff or customers wearing masks, not required. First time eating here, so I don't know if they took down plexiglass between tables, and at checkout(like other restaurants had)that would have been up for Covid-or just never had any. They did still have one sanitizer station by the door I did see. Moving on from that- It seems pretty big so you can still space out if you desire to. Our hostess was a cute little older lady that actually must've had that thought in her mind when she seated us-cuz she actually hesitated then moved us to a booth more away from a full table. Thanks to her for that one-appreciated! There was some coffee spills still on one bench, so she right away got that taken care of. We had Kelsey as our server, and she was really nice. The menu had a lot on it for breakfast that looked good to try, and the prices are very reasonable. I got the meat lovers omelette that came with potatoes, but was surprised our server said I got pancakes with it also! All for just $10.00! It was a lot of food, and was very tasty! Note for pancake lovers-The pancakes weren't huge, but coming with this omelette as a side-big enough. I had to take home leftover box. The Regular coffee was just typical restaurant coffee...but that's something I'm not a huge fan of anywhere so no biggie! My daughter got the chicken and waffles and choose the potatoes as her side too. She said it was one of the best tasting chicken & waffles she's had. They need to keep the chef as we want to go back and try something else as the food was so good! Lol Only downside was we had to ask for coffee more than once to get filled....and not sure why they're not keeping creamers, sugar, sugar substitutes on the table. Had to keep asking for those things also. Ketup was on the table, so not getting the reasoning behind not to keep the other stuff on tables as well. Sat by server - not hostess 4 tables sat after us were greeted then served drinks - and we had to call another server over to ask if there was a server assigned to our table. Told yes they would find them - and did offer to take our drink order. Coffee arrived with dirty spoons and no creamer. A server did arrive at our table now about 20 minutes after being seated. Remember the tables that were sat after us - their food started to arrive. Our server took our order - rather abruptly and sarcastically - apparently displeased we asked for a server. I also asked for new spoons and creamer- and was abruptly told they are out of a lot of things and it will be brought to the table "when they have it. " I canceled the order and she had the audacity to ask "why"... I simply replied "your attitude is inappropriate" NEVER TO RETURN" !!!!! read more

I really wanted to like this place, it didn't go as I hoped. I ordered the bacon double, which was pretty good, the waffle fries I ordered on the other hand, not so good. The fries, which were an up-charge, were terrible! Super crispy and no flavor, it was like chewing rocks, it really irritated my gums. In hindsight, I should've just kept the steak fries it originally came with. Oh well. My boss said she really enjoyed breakfast here though, so try it out yourself and see how it is. read more

Sort of disappointed in this place. Walked in and tried using the automated hand sanitizer machine only to find that it was completely empty. Employees noticed me trying to get some out (I wanted to make it obviously that they would notice it was empty so I wouldn't have to say anything) but didn't do anything about it. My daughter and I sat down and I ordered the gyro, and she ordered the breakfast burrito. We talked and looked around. Nice place. The kitchen looks great, it looks bright and clean. Our food comes out, and we had a great waitress. My real complaint is the gyro meat looks like it had been shaved a couple hours ago, or maybe it comes in a tin pack from a food supplier. Idk. But it was mega dry, and lacked some real flavor. The burned crispy sections were as hard as a rock. Barely edible. That was a disappointment. I didn't complain and ask for a new one or not want to pay. I did that. And I tipped 25%. Then on the way out, since I was there for 35-40 minutes, I figured someone filled the sanitizer machine. Nope. It was still bone dry on my way out. Not trying to be a complainer, but I was really let down by the experience food wise. But the place is clean, bright, and our waitress was really nice. I'll go back and try this place again at some point. Only giving 3 stars for everything besides the empty sanitizer and super dry gyro meat. read more
