Okay. Who doesn't love a good coney dog? But I've never had a coney dog from here. I usually get the gyro with the mini Greek salad. The gyros are always pretty good. Meat is tender, yet has consistency to it. The pita bread is great. Service is usually pretty good. However, I had to use the restroom on this occasion, and stumbled upon this scene in the men's bathroom. I was completely disgusted. Unfortunately it seems to be a pattern at restaurants in Lapeer, for whatever reason. Blindfish is the same exact way. These photos are not meant to be mean, these are factual pictures of this place and it's unbelievable that no one makes sure these things are cleaned up and it is presented in a positive manner. Where on earth is management? I am not sure I'll be back to this restaurant, knowing their cleaning habits. I can only imagine what the kitchen looks like.

Personally I like Leo's food. This is my first time at this location but everything was consistently good. This location had other options besides hashbrowns. You can get American fries or home fries. I got the American fries and they weren't greasy

Used to love this place but it's going to crap. Half assed staff starting with the carry out girl. Don't ask to replace your bread with lettuce or any other inquiries to meet your dietary guidelines or she will get huffy and puffy because her job becomes too hard at that point. The owner is always giving all the staff attitude in front of customers and clearly the cooks are new hires..... all the time or something. See pic of worlds smallest turkey club. Done with Leo's. I know it's just a coney but Jesus put some effort into your job life isn't that hard.

Chicken Quesodilla w/cheese, onion & green pepper. Yum! It comes w/salsa, lettuce & tomato but I like it naked on the plate!

Typical Leos, servers were ok. Place is cleaner than other coneys and Leos. Food is nothing special.

I think they have pretty good food. But yes, sometimes it is pretty nasty in there. They have really good omelets though.

Dena is the best waitress, always welcoming, funny, and kind. We come in a couple times a week and she remembers our orders and drinks.

Fish and chips are best anywhere according to my husband…read more.. Service is also excellent! Burgers are great as are the fries. Our Son and grandsons enjoyed them immensely! Myself I don't eat lettuce or gluten so not many selections for me but I ordered a basket of tater tots very yummy and went home and had my usual salad and a protein drink.

Old Detroit Burger Bar has a fun location right in downtown Lapeer, surrounded by locally owned…read morebusinesses. After lunch, it's easy to spend some time walking around, grabbing ice cream, checking out the nearby thrift shop, or just relaxing on one of the shaded benches under the trees and enjoying the small-town atmosphere. The restaurant itself has a cool bar vibe with dark wood, automotive-themed décor, and plenty of Detroit-inspired burger names. Even on a Friday afternoon, the place was busy with people enjoying drinks, so I can definitely see it being a popular hangout. The service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive, checked on us often, and kept our pop refills coming without us ever having to ask. Our food arrived quickly, hot, and fresh. The burgers were large, juicy, and had some creative topping combinations. I ordered one topped with a fried egg, expecting the yolk to add richness like it usually does on a burger, but the egg was completely cooked through with no runny yolk at all, so it didn't really add much. Overall, I found the burgers to be underseasoned. They looked great, but the flavor was a little flat and could have used more seasoning. The waffle fries were crispy and probably my favorite part of the meal. I also ordered a side of cheese sauce to dip them in, but it was so thick and gelatinous that I couldn't even get a fry into it, which was disappointing. We also ordered the corned beef egg rolls, which were very greasy. The outside was crispy, but the wrapper was thick and a bit doughy inside. The house-made ranch, however, was excellent and paired well with the fries. For three burgers, one appetizer, three pops, and about a $100 bill, I expected the food to wow me a little more. It wasn't bad by any means, I just wasn't as impressed as I expected based on all the rave reviews. If the food had a little more seasoning and the egg rolls, cheese sauce, and overall execution were improved, I'd enjoy it much more. I'd still give it another try, especially for the atmosphere, location, and outstanding service.

The main difference (recipe wise) between "Lafayette Coney Island" and the inferior "American…read moreConey" is the chili & onions. American uses boring "sweet onions" while Lafayette uses "SPANISH onions " which have more kick. But the real difference is the Chili, and that's the reason for the split & disagreement. Lafayette has a MEATER chili, meaning they don't skimp on quality ingredients. My best friend and I used to skip school in the 80's just to eat here. And the bathroom is COOL! It's like an adventure! The other main difference is American Coney has open seating because REAL Detroiters don't eat there. When interviewed there's a real character difference between owners. Grace Keros, the 3rd gen owner of American Coney likes to talk sh1t. You don't need to do that when your product is superior. Every interview she gives is sour grapes. Plus REAL Detroiters Coney dogs never put CHEESE on the coneys. American Coney = FAKE Detroit Coneys. Here is a pic of me in my $4Million Batmobile. Batman prefers Lafayette!

This was a classic spot that served classic Coney dogs, burgers, fries, and even pies. The place…read morewas small with a counter to sit at with several tables. The food was ready right away. The Coney dog ($4) was ordered. It had the classic toppings of bean less chili, yellow mustard, and raw chopped white onions. This was solid. There was a nice bite on the chili with plenty of mustard and onions. The bread was soft and the hot dog was cooked appropriately. The chili was the key as it was hearty and meaty. Will I go back? Yeah, sure.
