I love the location in Fenton but this one just isn't as good. I'm writing this after the health dept closed them but wanted to say give the other locations a chance. They are NOT like this one. My only time at this location the steak came out well done (I asked for medium rare) and it was dry and tough. Baked potato was really hard. My kids got grilled cheese and were happy. My husband said his food (I can't remember what kind of fish but it was stuffed) wasn't great. Barely warm and he wasn't impressed. I like the small town charm of this place. You can tell it's a place people come to for a special occasion. And they do service right I had found a bourbon cocktail I thought was interesting and rather than tell me they couldn't do it. On March 28, 2026 my family went to Lucky's Steakhouse in Davison. It was my son's choice to go there because it was his birthday. I have always liked the feel and ambience of this steakhouse, which has stayed true since they opened so many years ago! Our service was good, but the restaurant was still busy at our arrival at 8pm, which limited the amounts of check-ins we received and the time it took for drinks to arrive, which were crafted well! My Ribeye Gorgonzola, medium-rare, was cooked to perfection, and smothered with crusted Gorgonzola (hence the name), mushrooms and onions. My girlfriend's Bone-in Strip Steak, also ordered medium-rare, was bone dry. Her Mac'n'Cheese lukewarm. She didn't want to complain and continued eating, but when I finally convinced her to get it replaced and take it to go, Lucky's did so without hesitation. While the replacement steak looked like it was moist and exuding its juices, once we got home and cut into it, it was yet another dry steak. Very disappointing. When leaving, we overheard the neighboring table also returning a steak for being dry. Considering the difference between our steaks (succulent Ribeye vs dry Strip, both at medium rare) I can only assume that either, the cook is inexperienced with lower fat content steaks, or that the strips were of low quality. I don't know why this place only has a 3.3 rating. The food was fabulous. It started with warm herbed French baguettes. The fish tacos on the appetizer menu were delicious. It is one of my favorites to stop at when I'm in town. The crab-stuffed grouper is fabulous. It's topped with a lobster cream sauce, and if you pair it with a salad and baked potato, you will likely waddle out of the restaurant a bit overstuffed. They do serve a lovely hot bread, but it's often a bit too salty. I tend to wipe the loaf off with a napkin before tearing it into it to help remove some salty seasoning. The service is usually decent, and you can count on the place being packed any day of the week. Getting a seat usually takes 15-20 minutes, but the food is worth the wait. read more

Wow! Who knew the best restaurant in Flint is actually in Davison (that's close enough to Flint, right?). Anyhow, I was in Flint to take my spectacular Grandmother to dinner for her 93rd birthday and asked her to pick any spot she wanted to go, and Lucky's was our lucky place. Well, suffice it to say, my Grandma has great taste! My meal started with a bowl of the French Onion soup which, although unpretentious, was packed with excellent flavor and was delicious to the last drop. The complimentary bread served with our meals was a nice addition to the soup. For dinner I enjoyed the Gorgonzola ribeye, and I was certainly not disappointed. Warning: if you are a steak purest, which I usually am, and you aren't wanting to buck your trend, then you should "steer" clear of this choice, because the mushrooms and onions drowning in G-cheese that smother this generous slab of beef are so full of flavor that the meat takes on more of a complimentary role as opposed to the main edition, but on this night it was an excellent choice for me--no complaints from my finicky taste buds. Overall, this steak joint is not on par with the Ruth's Chris, McCormick's and Schmick's, or Fleming's level steakhouses, but it is what I might characterize as a great "family steakhouse"--An upgraded alternative to the packaged-for-the-masses Outback or Lonestar type franchises. Lucky's absolutely packs a punch in its own right, and as for this red meal connoisseur, I would pay the place another visit without hesitation. Head on in and see for yourself. read more

Horrible experience on my daughter's birthday today. We have been frequent customers for years with no issues. My kids ordered the kids' steaks, and th meat smelled, and the taste was foul.There was also hair in one order of the mashed potatoes. We informed the waitress, and she indicated she would let the manager know. The manager, Jeff, never came to our table and refused to do anything. I have never been here before, but I was invited by family who have been, and they enjoyed it very much. I tend to overindulge if I go to a place that is far away from home (different state). So, I got their coconut shrimp it wasn't too bad but just a little too crispy for my taste. I also got a piece of meat with a lobster tail which was nice and of course you can't forget the dessert. All the steakhouses have the same style and the steaks are pretty much on par with one another but few stand out in my mind as unforgettable. Sorry Lucky's but you didn't make the grade on this visit. I enjoyed the restaurant design, the friendly staff and the attentive waitress but the steak was sub par at best even though cooked the way I asked and served up nicely I was disappointed. The steak had a of flavor and not juicy at all. New your strip cooked Medium should have some taste and juice! I was happy with the salad and bread. Both were very fresh and enjoyable. The restaurant was busy and the cleanliness was evident throughout. Plenty of parking and the bar served great mixed drinks. The manager was friendly and visited the tables during the evening. That's always a nice touch having a entertaining/upbeat manager that genuinely enjoys making his clientele happy. I can't recommend this location but maybe the other entree's on the menu are better.
