This place is very knowledgeable about insecticides and getting rid of pests/bugs. Back during the bedbug epidemic I contacted them and they recommended an insecticide. I never had bedbugs, but I do live in a high-rise, and was afraid of getting them. I got a power sprayer online and bought some suspend, which is made by the Bayer company. Suspend is a colorless, odorless, concentrated, insecticide that works well on crawling insects. I also used diatomaceous earth which is a powder. These two things together will keep pests away. But, remember, don't ever get the powder wet. The diatomaceous earth is a powder. read more

We had mice in our house. Had exterminators come for months and they put down glue traps and mouse traps monthly caught a few mice but when my son and i went to the Bug Stop the problem was resolved. We got pink poison packets and a poison and crushed glass in a caulk tube (for stopping up cracks they could get into the house). No more live mice only dead ones. read more

The staff over at Bug Stop are very knowledgeable. If there is a strange insect in your home, if you can trap it in a ziplock or photo it, they will have the stuff in stock to eliminate it. This time, I stopped in for something for Ants that where finding their way into a rental. It was a gel inside of a syringe that work wonderfully. Two days after we put it out, no more ants. It only cost $10.00, they have an excellent mouse formula also, if they try and come in during the winter months. I'd defineatly, recommend Bug Stop. read more

My mom had a huge problem at home and she called an exterminator, he said the problem would be fixed for $600. My mom and I knew there had to be another way. After asking around my uncle told us about bug stop. The problem was fixed for somewhere around $200. Bug stop has to be an exterminators worst nightmare. I purchased the demonz mix for bed bugs along with the Viper aerosol that was recommended by the staff, after almost two weeks and following all the instructions given there was no sign of any improvement, I sprayed directly on visible bugs and they showed no reaction, two days ago I was able to capture a bedbug, I put it in a ziplock bag and sprayed it with fresh mix, I put in a paper towel to prevent it from drowning and 2 days later the bed bug is still alive in the bag with the towed soaked in spray, I went to the store and explained the situation and kindly asked for a refund, the person returned and said they could only refund half since it had been open and could not resell it, I had to tell them to keep my half and their bottle since it is not about the money and I had no use for their product that they sold me and does not work. When I walked in the door the employees two males never even acknowledge that I came in the door . one walked in the back, The other kept surfing the Internet on his phone. Whew, I have been having a very stressful few weeks. On top of that, a new ant infestation. I like to support local businesses rather than large chain corps such as Home Depot. Googled and found this place. Neatly organized store, came in and the gentleman listened to my issue. Got me the best products on the market, paid and left. Unfortunately for me, after leaving I went to the car wash across the street. Came home and was taking everything out of my car when I noticed the pesticide smell. Oil all over the trunk of my car, products soaked and the bag. Opened the red seal and saw the silver seel was peeled back slightly. Gave them a call, they told me to come back in. Replaced ALL the products for, free of charge. They even told me how to get rid of the oil in my car. I am so appreciative of their knowledge, professionalism and customer service. THANK YOU BUG STOP! Just before my lease ended 2 years ago, I received a vague notice from my landlord that there have been many bed bug infestations in Chicago. It worried me a little but I didn't think much of it until I was pulling apart my bed frame and found about 20 bed bugs hiding in between the slats. I immediately freaked out and did a ton of research, but almost all my options cost hundreds of dollars. Even worse -- most of the information I found while frantically researching told me explicitly not to move during an infestation. I had less than 10 days before I was supposed to be out of the apartment and my slumlord simply didn't respond when I told him the apartment had bed bugs. Time to take things into my own hands (or, more accurately, to place my trust in the hands of the Bug Stop). I came in after thoroughly researching what chemicals actually seem to work against these awful bugs and was given many inexpensive recommendations. I had so many questions and they answered them with much patience and great detail. The products they recommend are very effective as I have managed to dramatically reduce the amount of pests in my house. However, the only drawback is that their products are well overpriced. After spending close to $100 on fruit fly remedies at Home Depot that didn't work I stopped at The Bug Stop. The owner is obviously an expert in his field and once I quickly explained my issue told me I had drain flies and knew exactly where they were coming from.
