DO NOT USE THE THIS COMPANY! ABSOLUTE WASTE OF MONEY‼ This review is long overdue but I felt obligated to eventually write it so I can help others from doing the same mistake we did. We had a bed bug problem and decided to call these guys. their treatment included searching for 5 minutes with a miniature flashlight and dusting some cimexa (which you can buy for $20 on Amazon). 10 minutes and $700 later they were gone. the next morning i called Vladimir to tell him i'm still getting new bites and he told me it takes some time for the treatment to take effect and that he will be back next week to do the second part of the treatment. They came back a week later to do the same 10 minutes treatment they did the first time. after a couple of weeks the nightmare started again. we kept getting new bites every night. i called and emailed Vladimir many times still during the 60 days warranty time frame and asked him to come and take care of it but he kept insisting it can't be bed bugs and it must be something else and that everything will be alright (see emails attached). I even went to see an allergy doctor and a dermatologist to check what's wrong with me, I thought I was going crazy. Eventually after the bites didn't stop, my husband decided to check for himself and found an infestation on the back of the headboard!! We called Vladimir right away and told him what we found and again he kept insisting that it can't be bed bugs and it's something else. We told him that we see them all over the place and he said we probably don't know what we're looking at. After a 20 minute phone call of us trying to convince him his treatment didn't work, he told us he won't come back again because it's out of the 60 days warranty. How convenient, just keep ignoring your clients phone calls and emails until 60 days pass!!! after our phone call Vladimir emailed to tell me that if i'll call another pest company and they will confirm its bed bugs, he will come and do another treatment. Right, you want me to pay more money to someone just so you can come and do your no good treatment again? no thanks. We had a very positive experience with this company but hopefully never need their services again. We contacted them after noticing bites on one of our sons and despite never seeing any bugs we freaked out! They were extremely prompt in responding to our inquiry and scheduling an inspection. We got quotes from several of the "big name" pest control companies but noticed the comments they had pertaining to bed bug treatments seemed inconsistent at best. We ended up using this company because we just purchased the house we're in now and really wanted a company that specialized in bed bugs, offered multiple treatment visits and guaranteed their work. We were sent a very thorough email explaining how to prepare for our visits and all of my questions (before and after treatment) were responded to same day. I'm so glad we contacted them at the very first sign of the bites because I think they helped prevent our small infestation turning into a huge problem. These guys were great. The day I found out I had bed bugs, I went to Yelp, found WCBBS, gave them a call and had an appointment later that day. They treated the apartment, put all of my bedding in plastic bags, educated me on bed bugs, answered all of my questions and gave me great advice on what to do going forward. Vladimir responded to my initial phone call within ten minutes, was able to schedule my first appointment on the eve of a holiday, and showed up on time for both appointments. I had done research on bedbugs and Vladimir was patient and happy to answer all my questions. He seemed to know all about the subject, presumably because this is all they do. At this point, time will tell if the treatment worked, but the experience was as pleasant as can be expected in dealing with such a horrific issue. While expensive, the cost was competitive with other companies. The others I called either didn't follow up or never called back. Also, their warranty appears to be more than fair. Can I give this establishment 100 stars?! Seriously, if you have a bed bug problem, these are the ppl to call! I discovered I had bed bugs in May, have NEVER had them before so I was horrified. I was having relentless itching on my arms and chest and would've never discovered them had one little pest not walked across my pillow as I was watching TV. Like most ppl I thought I could take care of them on my own. I went out and bought all the products I needed, including wintergreen alcohol and commenced the task of exterminating them. I thought I'd done a great job as I wasn't getting bit anymore. NOPE! The fogger I used only scurried these suckers to additional bedrooms in the house, including my sons. Again, I did the same to each room, got rid of mattresses, bedding etc and doused each room with all these items I bought. After speaking with my brother whom had, had this issue years back he said I should look into just hiring an exterminator bc no matter how well a job you think you've done, you always miss one or 2 and they reproduce like wildfire. So paranoia got the best of me as after the infestation I was walking up in the middle of the night flipping mattresses etc even after I had done all that, I caved and looked online and found these guys l. The only bed bug exterminators and saw their great reviews and called for a quote. Though they were closed when I called, they called me promptly the next morning. Explained my situation, quoted me a very reasonable price, we scheduled the 1st visit. They came and explained each procedure they would do, my family and I and our pets left the home and within about an hr they had emailed me a report and what they found and wouldn't you know it?! I missed a couple of critters in my son's room, so they would've infested our home again, had I not called these guys. I did as directed to high heat all items that were bagged and we scheduled a 2nd session a wk out. Let me just say these guys are THE BEST. Very friendly, and knowledgeable staff. So far, so good... I called Windy City out when my apartment managers wouldn't send anyone to treat for bed bugs for 7 days (they have yet to come out). I couldn't stand to be home knowing that I could possibly have bed bugs, and exposing myself and my children to them... soooo nasty!!!! Vladimir and George could not have been more amazing throughout the entire process. We moved into an apartment three months ago that was infested with bed bugs in the walls but had no idea about it. We've moved out already since the landlords were not cooperative on having the entire duplex treated but Windy City Pest Control could not have been more incredible for clearing the issue within our specific apartment. They came the day I realized we had a problem and were so kind and thoughtful during the whole process. The technician, Vladimir Did not explain the extermination process correctly. We were blown off by one of the "big name" companies at which point we called Windy city Bug. The technician Vladimir described the company as a "family owned" business, which gave us a comforting feeling being that we had just been given the run around by one of the "big name" companies and we did have an issue that we needed resolved. My wife and I were also given the impression that the treatments would continue for as long as necessary until the problem was solved. Upon arrival, things seemed just fine. Vladimir and his coworker came in showed me what they were going to do and then asked me leave the property for about three hours while pesticides were present in the house. Two weeks later Vladimir arrived for the second treatment. At that time he explained to me that the furniture should've been removed from the house a few days after the first treatment. We both agreed that we had had some miscommunication with this issue. He then said just to remove the furniture after they had left from the second treatment and not to have the new furniture delivered for two weeks after the second treatment was completed. Which we did. Me and my pregnant wife slept on a blow up mattress in the living room for those two weeks as to follow those directions very clearly. I called for a follow up appointment after that two week period to confirm that the extermination was successful but was never given a call back. Two months after that, I called once more to get someone to come and do a follow up and I was informed that I was past the warranty period by six days. Keep in mind, my wife and I dealt with the same individual (Vladimir) throughout this entire process and this was the first time either of us had heard anything about a warranty period from Vladimir what so ever. Just to reiterate, he had stated in the beginning that treatments would continue for as long as necessary until the problem was solved. At this point, he stated that he had sent us emails that pertained to and explained this warranty. The only emails we received from this company were confirmation emails pertaining to appointment time and dates and two emails with coupons. He then stated that we could go to their website and watch a video which would also explain the warranty parameters. Keep in mind, this conversation is being had two months after the last treatment had occurred and now we're being told to watch a video explaining their warranty. Don't be fooled by this companies sales tactics by using phrases like "family owned". This company may be family owned but they treat you just the same as "big name" companies. It may almost be worse. They give you a sense of comfort and then turn around and make you feel like you did things wrong in order to get you to pay them a few more dollars for something they said they would take care of in its entirety. Be careful when dealing with this company and their policies. Be sure and be thorough so you are well aware as to what your supposed to do and what they are going to do. read more
