From now on when I think of a place to take the fam to have brunch; this is the place...hands down!! The service at The Brunch Spot is so top notch. ALL the staff are kind, courteous, welcoming, and go out of their way to ensure your experience with them is memorable and enjoyable. It's a very bright place that is often very busy and can be a little loud at times. So, expect a wait when arriving. But for the food and service it is well worth it. The catfish & grits is a dish that they can build a reputation on. All the food is well made and comes out of the kitchen in a timely manner. Congrats to the owner and her family for establishing and running a great place that was so needed in the northeast part of the city. Best of luck and I look forward to returning again in the near future

Food: the chicken was seasoned very well, waffle was good but didn't need so much powdered sugar on it and eggs were good. The shrimp and grits are not pictured but were good the only thing the grits were watery. Service: great service Ambiance: it's was nice.

I was happily surprised by the food here. I got a massive 10oz steak for my steak and eggs which was perfectly cooked and seasoned great! Their grits are a perfect pair for the meal & their biscuits are great! The servers and manager were super kind and made sure to come talk to our table and see how we were doing. Definitely would come back - everyone in our group of 7 loved their food and that's hard to come by!

Literally a list of flavors for the coffee including mocha

The server is rude as all hell, I ordered a hot mocha and argued with her about 5 minutes as to whether a mocha is a coffee.. she says I can't order a mocha. I'm done. No tip either I promise that. This is our Second time here and we managed to get bad servers both times.. this is really the only place I've had bad service at in the whole area. Also, parking sucks. Food is mediocre at best. All in all, just go elsewhere. "The biscuit company" is better. Edit to mention that the server decided it was cute to pour salt on my food and bring me burned bacon after I complained.

What a lovely place! Absolutely unexpected blessing. Wow! This place was absolutely lovely in every way. I am typically kind of a brunch hater because it's pretty standard and the same most places, but this place slapped me in the face with flavor and spunk! So good. The food which I received was a simple omelette but the chefs out did themselves with the flavors. It was nice and fresh, came out piping hot, also seasoned perfectly along with the potatoes. The biscuit tasted fresh and delicious. The coffee was also perfect, definitely good enough to pass by other coffee spots on the way! Very good flavor profile in the coffee but also balanced perfectly with sweetness. As if the food wasn't good enough the staff was also just perfect. They were extremely kind throughout our entire visit, attentive to our table, and quick to get food, refills, as well as the check. The restaurant itself was decorated very cutesy , only complaint there is the tables are a bit closer than I'd like but not a problem really! Overall definitely will be back! Definitely will recommend!

Surprising little locally owned brunch spot in Converse. We popped in after driving by and were delighted. Clean and neatly decorated. They have tables, booths and window seating. Our server was delightful, helpful, and efficient. She gave us great service. The entire staff seems very happy to be there, and you can tell by the wonderful service they provide. I chose to have the donation plate. It was a delightful meal and 20% of the cost is donated to local charities. Love that. My plate included two eggs, sausage, bacon slice of ham and a fluffy pancake. I couldn't even eat it all. Would definitely do it again. My husband had the brunch plate. Wonderfully satisfying. his plate included sausage, bacon, ham two eggs, a biscuit and fried potatoes. Great little place. We will definitely be back.

This was our first time visiting The Brunch Spot, and we absolutely loved it! The ambiance was cool and welcoming, and the staff was amazing -- customer service on point from start to finish. My husband ordered the catfish and grits. He said the grits and sauce were incredible, but the catfish could've been fried a little longer to his liking -- so that dish gets a 3/5 from him. I had the chicken and waffles, and they were amazing! The chicken was fried to perfection, seasoned perfectly, and the waffle was soft and flavorful. My daughter ordered the brunch burger and loved every bite. My son had the chicken with homemade fries, scrambled eggs, and avocado toast -- he literally ate everything except the plate! My littles enjoyed the kids' pancakes, eggs, and bacon, and even asked for more. What's not pictured is the Tabby Avocado Toast -- truly the star of the show! We all shared it, and by the time I thought to take a picture, the plate was already empty. All in all, we'll definitely be back. The food, service, and vibe were all great. I'd just ask next time for my husband's fish to be fried a little harder. Other than that, everything was delicious.

Can't remember the name but it was delicious! Burger with egg and bacon.

Let me start by saying we came on Valentine's Day with reservations…read more Service: Fantastic! Our server Alizae was great. Very friendly, happy, and attentive. She knew portion sizes, flavor profiles, and made sure we were happy with food selections. Ambiance: place is trendy. Decor was really nice and the place felt welcoming. My spouse and I could converse in a regular level and never felt as if we needed to shout to be heard. Food: Delicious! We opted for the 7 course prefix meal and it didn't disappoint. We added the shrimp and Brussels sprouts appetizer (which we took home). As this was our first time, we don't realize they had different menus. Everything we had was phenomenal. We will be back. But once we sat down, it made sense. Everything is made to order, and you can taste the difference. There was only one server handling the entire floor, and when a rush hit all at once, it definitely got busy fast. But here's the thing... she handled it with grace. Even when you could tell she was juggling a lot, she stayed attentive, kind, and kept checking in on us. That kind of effort deserves recognition. Now let's talk about the real star of the show... The Texas French Toast. Oh. My. Goodness. Thick, golden, perfectly cooked slices topped with homemade whipped cream and fresh berries that tasted like they were picked that morning. It wasn't just good, it was indulgent in the best way. Sweet without being overwhelming. Rich but balanced. I couldn't even finish it (which says a lot), and happily boxed the rest up. The only regret? I ate all the berries first. Rookie mistake. My husband ordered one of the hash plates and said it was solid comfort food... hearty, flavorful, and filling. He couldn't finish his either, so I'm definitely sneaking a few bites later. Overall, we left impressed. The food feels intentional. The flavors feel thoughtful. It's the kind of local spot you want to root for. And the fact that they serve pork lumpia for lunch? Say less. We'll be back for that. If you're looking for a cozy, made-from-scratch brunch spot in Universal City, this one is worth the wait. Good food takes time, and this place proves it. ***This review is based on my taste buds. The building is easy to find, situated next to Randolph Dental and across the street from Take 5 Oil Change. Parking is straightforward. The restaurant shares an outdoor lot with several neighboring businesses, and there was plenty of parking directly in front, including clearly marked handicapped spaces, plus an additional row across from the restaurant. Inside, the space is open, comfortable, and very clean. The interior seating is well maintained, and staff were consistently attentive to keeping the dining area tidy throughout the visit. The setup feels relaxed and inviting, and it is also nice to see that outdoor seating is available if you prefer fresh air. The food was excellent. I ordered the veggie omelette with added avocado and turkey, which was savory and well balanced. The hash browns were well seasoned with a good pepper profile, and the white chocolate latte stood out in particular. It did not have the artificial syrup aftertaste that is common at many places, which made it especially enjoyable. Service is what truly made the visit stand out. Jacqueline was friendly, attentive, and helpful from start to finish. She checked in at the right moments, answered questions without rushing, and kept everything running smoothly. As a thoughtful bonus, I was also given an extra pastry, which was a pleasant surprise and a great example of genuine hospitality. If you are looking for a casual breakfast or coffee spot with a clean environment, quality food, and staff who clearly care about the customer experience, Biscuit House is well worth a visit. Keep up the great work, Jacqueline and Biscuit House Schertz.

I got a drip coffee and my husband got a loose leaf hot tea, both were perfect. The flavor was exactly what you look for in a cup of coffee. We ordered a cheese thing that was brought out warm and toasty, and it was so delicious and perfectly sweetened! My husband got the avocado toast, and it was definitely worth the price, it was a nice hefty slice of sourdough bread with lots of avocado and mozzarella, very filling. I got the hangover breakfast bagel, which was excellent! The bagel was so soft with the perfect amount of chew. Loaded with egg, bacon, cheese, I did get the ailoli on the side and I'm glad I did because honestly, it was a bit strong, especially for breakfast. The matcha was very underwhelming, very weak, very culinary.... Do not recommend. It was very loud and it could be because there are so tables. Kudos to those studying.... Because HOW!! We never heard anyone call our name for our drinks, I just happen to glance over and see 2 that could possibly be ours. This could also be due to it being very loud inside.
