With everything cooked in tallow or butter, ethically sourced meat, and all around curated and intentional menu items, if I could eat here everyday - I would!! The people who work here are very kind and clearly carry the care that was put into the menu through to their work there. So the food is 5 -we got the burrito Pamela style and the cinnamon French toast. It was delicious but It was overpriced. Service was a star- the person taking orders wasn't friendly at all. It took a long time to get drinks, They charge $2 for the smallest glass of water and don't ask you to refill, you have to ask. The food took a very long time, but they were pretty busy in Sunday morning so they get a pass there. The servers were less than friendly. Dropped our food, one kind lady did check on use as we finished we were waiting for a lemonade $8!) and the server checked on all the tables around us to see if the needs anything and completely ignored us! This is the first Yelp review I've ever left, but I felt compelled to share our experience because of the poor customer service, rude staff, and lack of accountability from the owners. My wife, our friends, our kids, and I went to The Brunch Collective today. When we arrived, the atmosphere was pleasant, and I will say the food itself tasted great. We ordered our food around noon. This is a pay-at-the-counter restaurant, where you also tip when ordering rather than after receiving service. We ordered fresh-squeezed lemonades, but they barely tasted like they had any lemon in them. That was not a huge issue, so we simply asked if they could be remade. The waitress responded, "Yeah, the lemons are just a little dry." They eventually remade the drinks, but we did not receive them until after the food had already come out. The food came out fairly quickly for everyone else, probably within 5-10 minutes, but my burrito never came. After about 35 minutes and asking multiple staff members about it 3-4 different times, I decided to just ask for the burrito to be refunded. By that point, everyone else had already finished eating, and the kids were getting restless and ready to leave. I was annoyed, but I calmly asked for the burrito to be refunded so we could leave. The gentleman at the front said he would get the manager. I waited another five minutes, and then one of the owners, Josh, brought the burrito out in a to-go bag. He said, "Okay, you have your burrito, and we are going to refund you for the burrito. What else do you want?" I asked if they would also refund the tip I had left at the beginning, since the wait staff had not helped resolve the issue with the missing food. At that point, a long-haired server who had not been involved with our table said rudely, "Oh, okay buddy, we didn't do anything?!" I was honestly appalled that a server felt comfortable speaking to a customer that way in front of both owners, especially when he had not been one of the servers helping our table. Rather than escalate the situation, I turned around and went back to our table to eat the burrito quickly so we could leave. While I was eating, the female owner came over to our table and said she wanted to hear our side of the story. We explained what happened, but instead of simply listening or taking accountability, she became argumentative and defensive. After several minutes of back-and-forth, I told her I did not want to argue and just wanted to finish my food and leave. She continued trying to "talk through it" after I had already asked to be left alone. She also told our table that we were being overly emotional, even though I had already walked away from the situation at the register. Eventually, she acknowledged that the service was not good. When one of our friends commented that "the customer is always right," she responded, "I don't agree with that, but in this instance you are." She did end up refunding our entire check, which I did not ask for, but she offered because of how the situation was handled. While she was speaking with us, the same server who had been rude to me came over to our table for the first time during the entire meal to collect plates. My friend told him, "You can leave, we don't need that," because of how he had already spoken to me. The server responded, "You can't tell me to leave my restaurant. You can get the hell out." His attitude was completely out of line, especially considering he was not the owner and had already contributed to the situation escalating. Lastly, as I was eating my burrito, I found a long hair hanging out of it after I had already taken a bite. I showed the female owner, and her only response was, "Oh great... sorry." I expected a more serious response to a food safety issue, although to be fair, she had already comped the meal by that point. After reading other negative reviews, I can see that the owners often respond defensively or argue with customers who leave bad reviews. Based on our experience, that same attitude came across in person as well. Overall, the restaurant is in a great location, the atmosphere is nice, and the food tastes good. But the service, staff behavior, and management response need serious improvement. This place has potential, but they need to reevaluate their operations and how they allow staff to speak to customers. read more

The Brunch Collective has been on my list for awhile and I was excited to finally give it a try. My daughters and I really enjoyed it. We just checked out the new location for a second visit and loved it even more. The parking situation seems a little better at the new location with the lot next to the house. The restaurant is in a charming old house. There are several rooms with tables. It's decorated very cute and has a cozy feel. You'll want to settle in and relax for a bit. You order at the counter right inside the door. Your food and drinks will be delivered to the table as they are ready. The employees are friendly and welcoming. The employee delivering food to the tables checked on us and was able to help with things like extra napkins. All of the food I've had here has been excellent. Favorites if I had to choose would be the Apple Fritters, Toast Flight, and Christy's Burrito Bowl. The Apple Fritters were large, fluffy, and perfectly fried. The flavor of the fritter spices with the stewed apples at the bottom of the dish was incredible. Christy's Burrito Bowl is the most delicious combination of cheesy eggs, spicy crunch hash browns, a sausage patty, bacon, avocado mash, fresh salsa, jalapeño ranch, and two slices of their amazing sourdough. This is a hearty meal and every bite was great. The Toast Flight featured a mix of sweet and savory toasts that were all excellent. The Banana Matcha was my daughter's favorite item here. She talked about it for two months until I brought her back. The Lemonade is a generous portion, served in a takeout container. The Brown Butter Toffee coffee is perfect for people who love a sweet coffee drink. On second visit I had the drip coffee and enjoyed that. My girls and I will be back. Breakfast lovers will enjoy this spot. It's perfect for meeting up with a friend too! read more

Ok this place is sooooooo good but I will warn you it's more on the expensive side. It's expensive for good reason though, a lot of the stuff is really high quality or made locally/ in house. The woman waitress early 60s is unprofessional and rude. She excused her poor service and her bad attitude and stated "I don't know how you run your business but this is how I run mine!" My advice to her is simply-don't make excuses why your place has issues -just say I'm sorry and then make it right. The menu claims that this burrito is California certified. I wrote into the comments, "As good as California, eh?" and the chef himself came out to tell his story and why he wrote it up this way. When the burrito arrived, I was instantly met with a splash of deliciousness that did replicate the flavors of a beachy burrito. I am from California, a small surf town called San Clemente, and this burrito would definitely compete with some of the local spots. This is a very cute spot- with modern and fun lighting, wallpaper, flowers, and more. Our server was extremely patient, kind and helpful! They had colorful hair for reference (apologies I did not get their name). The food was also quite delicious. Note: it's quite difficult to find seating as the space is limited. BUT our server was the saving grace in getting our food, as the QR code online menus were quite confusing (as we even discussed with the group sitting next to us). The descriptions of items need much improvement (ie the croissant sandwich comes with hashbrowns INSIDE, not on the side). Also, I did not appreciate the surcharge for the "online service fee". Even though it is only $1, it is not something that should be charged to customers for a service they were not offered an alternative to! Even more so when the online ordering system was entirely unhelpful. I would not recommend this spot based on the latter. read more

I went here for the first time Saturday morning at 10 am with some friends I have not seen in 30+ years. I am going to start off with the parking, they have a lot that is small and you can also do street parking in front. Next, the outside is super cute with various places and spots to mingle from picnic tables to chairs and a chaise, to a tree swing and patio tables. (definitely coming in the fall) When you first walk in there is a pick by the stem flower stand to the right as well as a small backer counter and pick up area. The idea is to seat yourself. We quickly found a seat in the 2nd room upon entering. Upon sitting we discovered that you don't get a menu, you do it the "old covid" way of scanning it to view and even order from your phone which sends the staff the information of what table your at. Now, while I am not old, old and work in tech, it wasn't that bad, but I do prefer a real menu. It was kinda confusing to me whether to add meat to an entree that I thought already had meat and to make a drink "happy size", turns out it was already happy sized. The good part about ordering this way, is that you put your info in already like your email, credit or debit card number and if its already saved in your phone its super fast. No paper receipts as it's emailed to you, so that is great. I would have liked a clearer menu so that it wasn't that confusing what was in the actual dish and what you could add. The food, was impressively delicious! I had a breakfast burrito bowl with bacon. Bacon from heaven! I think I died with the first bite. Next, you get a little cup of salsa and whomever made it, I would like to bathe in it! OMG best salsa, I was so busy talking I didn't get to ask for extra! It was a little warm in there so maybe take a handheld fan if you are in the hot flash phase of your life, this is because the servers are running in and out trying to help/accommodate the guests inside and outside. They were super busy, but every time we asked a question they graciously stopped to answer. They checked on us many times and I am sure wondering when this gang of old ladies were going to leave lol, Thank you to The Brunch Collective for allowing us to sit and chit chat even when we were done eating. I wish we could have tried the cinnamon rolls that went past our table, but were told they sell out before 9 usually so we will be there super early next time because they looked divine! I also wish I would have asked how much it costs to make a floral bouquet because I love and buy myself flowers all the time. Next time for sure! The space was really nicely decorated, they had help yourself water, board games for everyone if you wanted. I also wished I would have went to the counter to see what was in the bakery case. I was just so overwhelmed with a heart full of love from seeing old friends and delicious food. I also forgot to take any pictures of my food or really any pictures what so ever. From the moment I walked into Brunch Collective, I was instantly amazed. The décor, the atmosphere, the whole vibe is absolutely beautiful and so thoughtfully done. I ordered the BC omelette and enjoyed every single bite. And the French Toast coffee? Out of this world !!! truly one of the best flavored coffees I've had. I wish I liked this place but the food and the service were both extremely lack luster. everything was bland foodwise and the service issues need to be worked out. I was eating with some friends and all of food came out at different times and there was only 1/6 dishes that were actually correct upon arrival, which was a waffle (hard to mess that up! lol!). my water had a hair in it which kind of turned me off from the experience from the beginning. I did try the matcha drink they had on the menu which was decent although for the price, it was a lot of ice and not a whole lot of matcha. Overall, there are MUCH better brunch places out there and if you are paying as much money as you are here, money is better spent elsewhere. read more

With my breakfast, I ordered what I thought was a regular mocha that turned out to be a sweet drink. As a diabetic that's a no go. The owner came by and I asked why it was sweet. His response was "It's what you ordered. We do drinks differently here". After a bit of discussion he offered a regular coffee with cream. That's disappointing since I paid $8 for the fancy mocha. (You pay in full for your meal as it's ordered.). Already half way through the meal , I waited and waited; Finished my meal and had to go in to get to-go box. I *want* to give them 5 stars.....their concept is whimsical and fun. Their menu is robust and even offers treats like cotton-candy lemonade. However....my experience was a huge bummer today. I ordered around 9:50 am, and didn't get my to-go order until 10:35, around 45 minutes later. At one point a staff member came out and told me that they might have given my food to the wrong person and had to remake it? It was beyond frustrating. They only offered me a bottle of water and a free flower in response. I had to go, or I would have asked for my money back. The bagel sandwich wasn't toasted, the "burrito bowl" was just some scrambled eggs on hash browns with a side of burnt bacon. My wife and friend went there Monday. Menu was confusing, some QR code nonsense that was not user friendly, the item ordered was unappealing and tasteless. When they complained to the people working there ( piercings and tattoos galore) they displayed a nasty attitude, my wife and friend requested a refund to which the person replied:" we don't give refunds". Whatever happened to satisfying your customers? They left- never to return. And more importantly- to share this negative experience with their many many friends. Dear owners: you are only as good as your last meal. The restaurant space is huge and competitive. More than half of places that open don't last 3 years. Hope you all get your act together. I don't write reviews often, but with The Brunch Collective I feel compelled to. We stumbled upon this cozy little place almost a year ago and it has become one of our favorites. The food is always fresh, the portions are LARGE, and the staff and owners are the nicest people you will ever meet. At first glance their pricing may seem high, until you receive the food. We had reservations on how much the salad cost, but it was larger than my friend's head. Their toast flight is my favorite, and I think my boyfriend dreams about their waffles. I love the rotating coffee menus-- and that Cardamom Rose latte is hands down my favorite thing I have gotten to try. The wait can be a little long-- everything is made fresh to order in a small kitchen with a small staff. To offset the wait, they have so many games available for you to play while you wait. The food hot hot hot when it gets to you, and they do source local ingredients for menu items-- a stance I can 100% get behind. Yes, the menu is online, and you need to use your phone to access it--but I would rather have that versus a sticky or wet plastic menu that most brunch places seem to offer. Yes, there is a $1 surcharge to pay online-- do you know how much credit card companies charge a business to accept your payment? It helps to offset that cost the restaurant incurs-- don't want to pay the $1? They take cash. This is a small mom and pop business, they take care of their guests, their food is top quality, and I'm sorry-- I would rather pay an extra dollar or two here instead of supporting a large corporation that doesn't care about their staff or guest experience. read more
