I am a big time coffee lover. It's my thing. Years ago, my business was coffee and I taught, trained, and consulted on all things coffee. While I have not yet had the opportunity to visit every coffee purveyor in the year and a half since we moved to Middle Tennessee, I have visited as many as we've been able to find, especially the highly recommended coffee businesses, within an hour of our home.
Truth: None compare, or even come close, to Jericho Coffee.
Jericho is the coffee I've been longing for, missing, and hoping I'd find in Tennessee. It meets all of the requirements I expect and know to be an excellent expresso pull. Dark, rich, smokey, earthy, with a velvety caramel crema, full-bodied, and no bitter. Jericho makes the heady espresso and cold brew this coffee lover and aficionado appreciates as the real thing deserving of our attention, support, and praise.
Americano is my drink and I have spent a lot of money on espresso brewed with weak and disappointing breakfast and medium roast blends in this state. I find this phenomenon here confounding. While the method might be an espresso brew from a fancy, expensive machine, it is not espresso without a proper grind from a dark, espresso roasted arabica bean. Period. While some may say that espresso can be made from roasts of varying degrees, I wholeheartedly disagree. Espresso made from a weak bodied roast is not espresso worth drinking. And I will note that if you are a coffee drinker who likes the addition of syrups and sauces in your espresso, a light to medium roast is completely lost and drowned out by these extras. Try Jericho for yourself and taste the difference.
I am not here to say that none of the other coffee shops and drive-thru coffee shops I have tried are not pouring their heart and love into the drinks they're making and sharing with their customers, but I am saying that Jericho is doing it better and knocks it out of the park with the product they are serving. It's good that we have different coffee shops to choose from, that suit our personal taste, but I am all about that real, rich, deep roasted, creamy smooth espresso and Jericho fully delivers.
If only I still lived closer (please, please come to Dickson Co. and/or Wilco! ), I would be a regular customer, but as it is, I am most certainly a loyal customer who will be stopping by Jericho every time I am in Columbia. read more
