Have enjoyed this coffee for years so wanted to visit in person. The banana latte was spectacular. There were four of us that travelled there for coffee and hopefully lunch however we could not stay for lunch because there was no seating. Its the typical case of people working on laptops at coffee shops and taking up more then their fair use of space. Two of the 4 top tables were occupied by 1 person! There were several bar openings but not where 4 people could sit together. We took our coffee and left and searched for a cafe they could accommodate seating us. Bummer. read more

This place has it all. Great coffee, chill atmosphere and the team working to make your coffee dreams come true really goes above and beyond. They offer milk alternatives and are super accommodating if you want to make changes to a drink. They also have some food on offer, but we didn't get the chance to give that a shot. Such a cool coffee spot in the middle of a southern gem. They have a lot of unique options at this coffee spot, this was our first time but it seems like they have a big big following with the locals in this area. You can buy a glass jug and fill it with cold brew to bring home which was really cool to see. They take some pride in their specialty drinks and actually make real espresso drinks. The branding and aesthetics embrace the history and feel of small town Columbia. My first experience a few weeks ago did not have me convinced I'd be a frequenter. My wife and I had ordered a seasonal beverage (s'mores I believe) with oat milk. Personally we did not care for the flavor at all especially for the price we paid. Upon glancing behind the counter, I noticed it was most likely due to the brand that they use for oat milk (Califia) which does not pair very well with coffee in my opinion. That said, I wanted to give the shop another chance and agreed to a coffee meeting there recently with a local pastor. This time, I purposed to order a drink without any substitutions to give them a fair shake. I chose the seasonal eggnog latte (a beloved Christmas tradition for me) and I must say, it may very well be the best I've ever had. The kind and inviting staff delivered a rich and creamy drink with a savory bitter aftertaste. I am already looking for excuses to go back and order one again. Overall, I'm so glad to have revisited this spot and now hope to do it again soon. Muletown is beginning to win me over as perhaps one of my favorite coffee shops in Columbia. read more

GREAT place! Finally getting around to making a review! I visited back in early December from Wisconsin while visiting my brother. The shop was so cozy and warm. We sat outside on the patio and had a nice view of the courthouse building. The girl working the register, I think her name was Christian or Christina, was FANTASTIC! She was so helpful walking us through the yummy holiday menu and pastries. I ended up choosing the apple cider and an apple muffin. Thanks Christian (or Christina) for the help and awesome customer service. She was a blessing! I believe a girl named Alison made our drinks. They were amazing!! I havent found any coffee that I like here. My friend likes this place but I just dont like strong coffee. I always ask them to make the coffee really sweet and mild but it tastes bitter. I've even tried asking them to sweeten it more but after asking for the second time, I was too embarrassed to tell them I still didnt like it. The echo in the space is terrible. The staff didn't know what they were doing and messed up my drink. It took so long for it to be made that i didn't have the time waste to wait for another so in the garbage it went. There was also a fly in the pastry display, so gross. This place is great! Staff is kind with superb recommendations (because the coffee is so good)! As far as the beans, I only tried the Kenya Single origin. Amazing job. Flavor profile is really deep. It's almost like it expands my jaw/salivary glands more fully. Juicy apple almost indistinguishably with/to honey and a full deep apricot. Nothing goes too far into fruit though. It's so flavorful my mouth almost expects to water like I'm taking a bite of fruit. It's great! I am sitting here drinking a black coffee like it's water almost, or maybe like a sweet tea (?), but that's too sweet. It's hard to describe because it's such a wonderful cup. You have to try this for yourself and see where it takes you. Highly recommended. Most memorable cup of drip coffee on record, or at least for the last few years at a shop I bought a bag for home and I'll definitely be back. Not sure if they'll pull shots with it but I might see how that goes in an americano or just straight up. This place is so cute! I came here with my boyfriend on a Friday morning, and while it was a bit crowded, it was such a fun experience. He had the hazelnut mocha latte, which was AMAZING, and I had the strawberry mocha latte, which was also great! It's so fun that they have special monthly flavors. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Columbia. Editing to add: I can't have caffeine, and they were so quick to accommodate when I asked about making my latte decaf. As cool as the place is, we are not impressed. The food is okay but the cleanliness of this place is disgusting. You can tell they don't clean because we came in at 1:35pm and there were crumbs everywhere and dead flies. Also, when my wife asked for honey for her tea, the attitude the guy with long hair gave her was SO unprofessional. You can tell they only care about talking to their own team people than customers. I would rate this place on customer service as a -1 but I can't. Don't waste your time unless you want just drip coffee or lattes. Do better on customer service and being clean. Your place is cool but attitudes towards a woman (my wife) asking for honey to make her tea how she wants it like most places offer. Also again clean up in between the rush and be better with customer experience. read more

I was really excited to find a good coffee shop downtown to study at, but was kinda disappointed when I got here. Plugs were hard to come by so definitely bring everything fully charged. The menu is very limited and I wouldn't say the coffee is great. I got a regular black coffee and I didn't really taste any undertones. I ended up putting some sugar which I normally don't do. Also, I got hungry after an hour and there were pretty much 2 pastries being sold. I just left to go home and eat there because they didn't look satisfying and seemed overpriced. Positive things were that the environment itself is nice to study in. The front wall is basically all windows so plenty of natural light comes through. The tables were not crooked and the seats were comfortable. There was even a bench outside if you wanted to study outside. read more

Muletown Coffee Roasters is akin to the ideal coffee shop. It has a perfect coffee shop vibe and decoration; it is not overwhelming and there is enough space to fit a decent sized group. The coffee was delightful as well. The Hazelnut Mocha was subtle and just sweet enough to be good without being offensive. My drink came with a lid, however, the employees made coffee art on it, which shows their attention to detail. Their menu did not have all of their drinks on it but that didn't matter because if you ask, the employees will happily tell you what they can make. read more
