I had a great experience at the Brow Bar! I gave my eyebrows a year off of waxing after a particular chain wax salon gave me a 90s brow. Needless to say, my brows were in need of a revamp. My waxer did a great job. She took her time, measured/waxed/trimmed/plucked to perfection. She took the time to go over some tips and tricks with me and I left feeling like a new person. They require masks during the service, which they had for you to grab at the salon. Love that as we were very up close and personal and I know germs are flying around this time of the year. It is cutely decorated and it extremely clean/professional. They have small water bottles for customers while they wait, which I loved. Savannah did my eyebrow tint and I absolutely love her! She immediately sat me and my friend down for our appointments early. She was kind and we had a good conversation, she made me feel extremely welcome in the shop. Even more, she did a really good job on my eyebrows! I won't have to fill them in for a couple weeks, which is relieving because I'm used to filling them in every single day. First, I sat down and she started measuring out lines to actually shape my eyebrows to match my face--I've never once had this done anywhere else and have been getting my eyebrows waxed for well over 15 years. Recently relocated to an area very close to West Chester, so obviously one of the first things I looked for was an acceptable place to tame my eyebrows. The Brow Bar is located in West Chester, a very beautiful neighborhood that I'm looking forward to exploring. I found this place on Yelp (of course) and followed the IG page for a bit to get an idea of the vibe and client results. From what I saw, Tara seemed like a very talented, professional eyebrow guru, so I decided to give her a shot. I was able to book a weekend appointment online, where I was asked for credit card to confirm. Be advised that should you fail to cancel your appointment within 24 hours, you'll get charged full price for the service that you would have gotten. Because I was unfamiliar with the area and what parking would be like, I decided to venture out to West Chester early to explore a bit before my appointment. I found parking on a side street about a block away, and parking before 5 was apparently free on Saturday--woop woop! Unfortunately for me, it started to drizzle a bit outside, so I had to seek shelter in The Brow Bar---SUPER early. While sitting in the Brow Bar I got to witness how friendly and polite Tara and her staff are, and how cute the shop is! They have two display windows with cute succulents and accessories for sale. When it was finally time for my appointment, Tara really took her time, and explained what I could do to help with growing out my eyebrows in certain areas. The cost of the service itself is higher than what I am used to but it is certainly justified by Tara's attention to detail and expertise. I couldn't say enough good things about this business, it's services, and the owner and staff. My boyfriend had gotten me a gift certificate for V Day and from there on out I was hooked. Tara hooked me up with some eyebrow boot camp and got my thin, misshapen eyebrows back on track and showed me how to fill them in properly. For starters, the girls at the Brow Bar are extremely talented, however, what a poorly run business. Knowing that eyebrows are something to be kept up with, it is extremely hard to make an appointment and so frustrating when the girls work two days a week, but then you see them out all over town or on vacation. I have had every service Tara has to offer...Where do I even start?! Brows: I naturally have pretty light hair so the tail end of my eyebrows look like they don't exist. I would spend LITERALLY 25-35 min every morning just filling in my brows with various Anastasia products. I've never gotten them done before because I was scared they'd be waxed too thin and that would just make the bad look worse. But I gave Tara a try after following her on Instagram and seeing how nice everyone's brows look after her services. I was literally floored with how full my brows looked when she was done! Between the tint and the wax, they looked amazing. I spent MAYBE 5 minutes on them the next morning. Tara told me not to touch them AT ALL for the next 4 weeks until I went back to see her. No plucking, no trimming...nothing. My second appointment, I was even more shocked with how great they looked after she blessed them with her magic. They look so natural. I love them! I've been seeing Tara every 4 weeks since before she opened the brow bar. I have since moved and now drive an hour each way just to see her. THATS how good she is. Spray Tan: I recently was the maid of honor in my sisters wedding, which was in the middle of winter. I was going to go to a regular "stand in these four positions while this machine sprays you" tanning salon to get a spray tan, until Tara told me she does them. I've never had one where the person literally sprayed you while you stand there but what the hell! I trusted Tara so why not give her my business? She was so awesome she literally rubbed a sample of it onto my skin to see if I liked the tint a couple weeks prior (and to see if I was allergic to it since she uses an organic apple-based product and I'm allergic to apples). It was a nice color--not orange at all. I got the spray tan on the Thursday before my sisters Saturday wedding. I loved it. It looked natural and lasted WAY longer than I'm used to with the automatic spray machines from tanning salons. Had I used lotion like she recommended, it would've lasted longer I'm sure...but i didn't so it lasted about 7-9 days! The naked peach: So no one likes to get these done...they're awkward and uncomfortable. I've had 3 before in my life. Some good, some bad experiences. I was nervous for this particular service Tara offers, because I'm a regular client and didn't want her to see me spread eagle. But again, I have trusted her thus far so why not?! She was so professional I was really impressed. She wasn't awkward or weird, she made me feel comfortable, and she did what she had to do to get the job done as quick and as painless as possible. Literally had me in different positions just so she could get every last hair. I would highly recommend all of Tara's services. She's awesome! read more

I came here Saturday for the first time after seeing this place recommended continuously on Facebook. My appointment was with Emily and she was very nice and professional right from the start. I'm used to just getting my brows waxed at whatever nail salon i go to so this was definitely a treat. She was extremely knowledgable and took her time to shape my brows perfectly. She asked questions about my usual routine and made suggestions as well. I honestly think this was the least painful wax i've ever had as well. At the end she showed me what she did and told me not to touch my brows between now and going back there or somewhere else to help my "lazy brow" grow in better like my "good brow" lol. I've been meaning to write a review for Tara for a little while now--I've been going here for 2 years at this point, about once every 2-3 mo, and have been incredibly happy with my brows every time I've left. She's really helped shape an arch out of my fairly light brows, and they always look nice in subtly tidy way. I get compliments from friends all the time afterward. It's a little pricey, but at least for me, I can go for a stretch just doing a little touch-up on my own, and honestly, I find getting them done with Tara a relaxing self-care kind of thing that's worth the price. It's a nice break and peaceful refuge from the hecticness of my daily schedule. As others have mentioned, the space is really well-laid out, and there's a soothing, modern aesthetic woven through with lots of nice plants. I find Tara very generous and personable. I see a lot of reviews about the strictness or unforgivingness of the appointment-time policy, and while that's true (it's mentioned a number of times when you sign up for a slot online,) it's fairly understandable given the way appointment times are stacked, and coming late, I imagine, would push all the appointments that came afterward. They are simply trying to honor the appointment times of folks who come in after you, and I think as a small-business with a small staff, you kind of have to run a tight ship when it comes to scheduling. (Given that, I do very much recommend giving yourself a generous buffer with parking / traffic in DT West Chester // there are also times when Gay St. is just under construction or there are events going on when the close the road. . .) I think in exceptional circumstances, communicating clearly would be key, as I find Tara quite reasonable. (I've been late, too. . haha) But, I truly always feel taken care of when I am with her. For example, when I couldn't figure out how to use the brow filler / mousse, she walked me through it, and sent me a video that I could use back at home to guide me. :') And it's also always nice to catch up and chat with her--I never feel rushed. Tara was referred to me years ago. I've been going to Tara since before The Brow Bar was The Brow Bar. I drive 45-60 minutes one way every appointment just to get my brows done here. Tara is absolutely amazing and so are Emily & Savannah! You can't go wrong with any staff member for your waxing needs. I always feel welcome and there's always great conversation between the staff and all clients. Some people complain about the price, but in my opinion, you get what you pay for and at The Brow Bar that is an excellent experience and beautiful, perfect brows. Plan to arrive about 10-15 minutes early because parking in West Chester isn't the best. But pro tip: if you're going after 5 during the week and there's no parking on Gay, there's a parking lot on the corner of New & Gay you can park in. It's just a short walk to The Brow Bar.
