My daughter and I have come here twice now for brow and lip threading service. SHE CLEARS HAIR ! Absolutely amazing and thorough threading. Clean brow lines .. my daughter's brows always look better than mine but that's only because I have a natural dramatic arch and fixing another threader's mistake has taken me a year now. This will be our eye brow person. Located off Como in an Asian indoor swap meet of some kind...she clean, calm .. I'm not sure if appointments are required but I always schedule one because that's how the site directs you and honestly why not make an appointment. She's kind and fast and fairly priced . Called ahead of time before coming in. They take walk ins and credit card. She was able to see me right away. Asked me how I wanted my eyebrows and got started. I was very happy with my results. I had let my eyebrows grow in because I had bangs. She got them tamed. read more

Love this little threading studio. It's a nice, casual, personalized experience. I'm kind of over the big salon type environment, so this was nice. She did an amazing job on my brows, and it was so much less trauma to my skin than the wax that I usually use. Parking in the lot on the east side of the building was easy, and as soon as I realized I needed to walk in the door kind of in the middle of the east side by the lot, Brow Bar was right in front of me, just inside to the left. As a bonus, there are lots of cool Hmong clothes and such to look at on the way in. I presented her with a bit of a challenge, as my frequent eyebrow coloring (one half of one eyebrow is mostly white!!!) added to my obviously overzealous recent attempts at eyebrow perming/laminating resulted in some thin spots in my brows where I caused many of the hairs to fall off!!! (Note to self - don't do all of these things ALL the time! ) Oh well, not a tragedy, as they invented eyebrow powders and pencils for a reason! And it's not like I make a living as an eyebrow model or anything. But my shenanigans did result in some short little dumb eyebrow hairs that aren't yet grown in, along with some coarse dyed long formerly white ones! And they kind of go everywhere, since the longer ones were "laminated" (straightened) and the short ones weren't. But she didn't say a word about them except that she couldn't tell that there were any white hairs. Winning! I told her I was trying to grow my brows in a bit, and she did a really great job of working with the craziness I presented to her and not taking off too much. She cleaned them up beautifully, and unless you get up close, you can't even tell there are weird spots with tiny short hairs. This was my first threading expwrienceI am a stylist, so I usually do all my own waxing, but the combination of an event last night with my retinoid-sensitized skin meant I couldn't wax, unless I wanted to show up looking like a freak! That left me with two options: tweezing or threading. I'm glad I booked an appointment and got right in to get my brows threaded! It didn't take long at all, and my skin looked just fine after she was done. I'll be back! Super easy to book an appointment online. Low stress, great work. Thanks! read more

What a great experience! After overpriced, highly chemical salons, this place is a find. Fast, clean, professional. Suyvita did a terrific job - exactly what I wanted - and was wonderful to talk to. I usually frequent the malls if I wanted my eyebrows threaded, however with the recent upsurge in price I went back to waxing. This place is located inside the Como HmongTown. I was greeted upon entry by a warm smile from Daskinisha (I know I probably spelled your name incorrectly, forgive me). She asked if it was my first time threading and gave a thorough overview of what she would do. My eyebrows are crazy. They grow out funny and are not evenly shaped. I was recommended Castro oil to help aid in the regrowth of hair in areas that are sparse. The owner herself is pleasant and a joy to make conversation with. Gave threading a shot, after waxing for over a decade. I wish I would have started sooner. Threading is much more precise, and overall just cleaner. This place is awesome, the owner is efficient, kind, patient, and the price, it almost feels wrong what she charges. I gave her a 100% tip and I think it was like $20 total. I just had a really great threading service at the Brow Bar with owner Dakshina! She was very friendly and thorough, taking the time to let me know what she was going to do with my brows before she got started because I was a new customer. You don't get that very often! She used a brow powder on me after the threading which was really nice so that brows looked great. This was a very affordable threading service, and yes located in the Hmong marketplace so you can try some Hmong delights afterwards. read more

My coworkers recommended me this place and oh my gosh! This was the best decision ever! My brows were so bad from my last brow tech so I let them grow out. I told the lady that I wanted them even and she said she would try. And they came out perfect. During the session, she was keeping conversation so it wouldn't be awkward and quiet. I went during a good time as well, the place is short staffed apparently so, picking a decent time helps, so the brow tech isn't feeling rushed. I 100% recommend this place. This place is a GEM! I am so happy that I found this based on reviews on yelp. I am always nervous about trying new people especially when dealing with my eyebrows since I have had bad experiences in the past. Dakshina really listened to what I wanted for my eyebrows. She showed me exactly where she would thread and how she would shape my eyebrows. I was very appreciative to her carefulness. The end result is exactly what I wanted. I also got my upper lip done which she was very particular on getting each hair. I will say compared to previous cities that I lived in; it is a bit pricier but it is fair for the twin cities. Threading is far superior to waxing. I've been to several threading establishments and Dakshina is the best. She transformed my stubborn bushy brows into a lovely shape befitting my face - and the side benefit is it will last a long time. She really knows what she's doing. Currently she's housed in a funky Hmong mall, but finding her is definitely worth it! [The mall is very fun and authentic - a SE Asian market where you'd least expect to find one!] Parking is free, the Brow Bar is inexpensive, and it's a great experience. Get in there! read more

I checked Yelp for a brow / threading place and it lead me to The Brow Bar in St. Paul. It is one of the best places I have been to for brows. I never had threading and thought I'll try it, now I am hooked. Dakshina is an amazing person who knows what she is doing and takes her time. I've been here 3 times now, the first time I came my eyebrows came out really good! Not the best I've ever had them but pretty up there. I came back after they grew out a little to get the same work done because I haven't found a good spot in MN and she was very sweet to talk to. This time it felt like she was in a rush and really thinned out my brows when I always emphasize that I like them thick just a little cleaned up. I waited months for them to grow out, and while in Chicago I found a great brow lady who did them exactly how I wanted. I let them grow out again and came back to the brow bar since I was back in MN and I thought the reason it didn't work the second time was probably because she was in a rush but this time she thinned them out more then ever. She threaded off my ends the past two times then told me I should grow them out. I have thick eyebrows and specify that I'd like to keep it that way but she hasn't listened these past 2 times. I won't be coming back I'd rather just keep them grown out and bushy then thin like this when I just wanted a slight clean up. It totally changes how my face looks I feel like I look shocked and surprised all the time now. I'm going to grow them out again, just wish I didn't have to go through this long and annoying process again. read more

Dakshina (business owner) had a dream to open her own beauty studio and finally after working almost a decade on eyebrow threading it became true. I called the front desk a total of EIGHT times in 4 months, every time they told me this was a mistake and they would get the manager to take this off. It never happened. On my 10th treatment I asked to talk to the store manager and she was not in. The front desk assured me they would get the accidental refund back... it never was. Got the email of the manager and she just never responded to me. I gave up which I am assuming was their goal. WASTED all this money and still have a good amount of underarm hair. I would not have paid this much if I didn't know I would still have a good amount of hair. It is thinner and lighter but not "a couple of hairs here and there" like they said it would be. Horrible place, do not waste your money or your time and clearly management is non-existent. Most bothered by this lack of response from management, based on the email given her name is Nichole Haugen, and incorrect charge.

After a couple sessions with various clinicians, an excellent one explained to me that I should have been getting 2 rounds of treatment at each visit due to a condition I have. Since she discovered their error, she extended my 10-month period for several months at no cost, which I was very happy with. Overall, the clinicians were friendly, caring and seemed very competent. There was one clinician I had for 2 appointments, and she seemed less competent. During both appointments, I had to stop and explain that the other providers provided pressure to treated areas to help ease my pain throughout the procedure. Even after she seemed to understand, she did not execute it nearly as effectively. The pressure she applied was generally too light and she sometimes would apply it in the wrong spot. I'm sure my very strong reactions throughout the 2nd appointment made it challenging for her, but still I had a better experience with the others. I explained to her that my skin rarely had such a strong reaction and that the pain lingered, and then had to ask her for aloe and hydrocortisone - things the others graciously offered right away, regardless of my skin's reaction. After my first negative experience with this clinician, I made sure my next appointment was not with her and the following appointment was better/more normal. However, I had to reschedule my last appointment and could not see who the provider was when rescheduling, and so that is how I ended up with this clinician a second time. I'm finally done with my package, and am relieved, not because my hair is gone (it's not gone, after all that), but because of the challenging scheduling, the mix of very good and less competent clinicians, and intense pain during procedures.

If your looking for a threading bar I recommend The Brow Bar. The employees genuinely care if you like their work or not and will try their hardest to bring your vision to life. When I went I showed them a picture of what I wanted my brows to look like and in one try she was able to replicate the picture. read more

She explained that she couldn't exactly follow the previous threading work (I had explained I used a razor to shave my brows in between). I explained that I liked a flat and thin brow shape. My natural eyebrow shape grows into a thick triangular shape, but I personally like to thread off the top of the triangle for a flatter shape. I told her on multiple occasions that I wanted a flat top on my eyebrow. But at the end, she told me that she was following my natural brow bone as a guide for threading. I hesitantly complied. I waited til the next day to sit on how I feel about the brow work. I took selfies after doing my usual makeup routine. My eyebrows are far from flat. It is very arched! I've had my brows done by three threaders in the past who are able to have them flat on top as I wish. I felt saddened because I got my brows done the day before getting my headshots taken and I was wondering why i couldn't recognized myself when I was previewing the photos. PRICE: $18 for eyebrow threading. The cheapest rate I've seen so far in the Twin Cities metro for this service. LOCATION: The shop is clean and spacious. OVERALL: The shop is clean and inviting. The service price is the best I've seen so far. I am just disappointed that my requests for my eyebrows are neglected. The eyebrows look good but not on me!
