So reliable! I've been coming here on and off for the past few years, and while it may be a touch more expensive than other walk-in style threading spots in the Twin Cities, the quality is awesome. I usually let my natural brows fly, but when I was prepping for engagement photos and my wedding, I wanted the precision that threading offers. It was time to tame the caterpillars. I made a few appointments with the same brow threading specialist at Brow Chic, and had great experiences both times. They have a darling spot in St. Paul near so many awesome cafes and restaurants. There's mostly free street parking available nearby. Their online booking process is slick, and their onsite check in process is quick and friendly. They offer a wide variety of waxing, threading, and other beauty services like lash lifts, etc. Some are done in the main area of their space, and others are done in the most adorable little tiny home nestled in the alley. Usually my threading appointments are back there, and it feels like such a cute hidden gem! I've had a handful of technicians over the years, and all are great at asking what I want, lining my brows up, and working with precision and professionalism. I am a little torn about how to rate this experience. Where on one hand I was very happy with the end result, on the other the lack of true good customer experience left me wanting for more and second-guessing my choice of salon. I've visited Brow Chic to get a fill on my lash extensions. This was my first time at this joint and only my second rodeo at getting lash extensions... so needless to say I'm new at this process. My first experience(at Sugar, Sugar in Phoenix) was spectacular! My technician had taken time, explained the procedure, after extension care and treated my like a true princess. So I will concede, I came to Brow Chic probably expecting similar treatment. I will also agree being new to the area I did not find the salon/parking easily, as a result was 5-7 mins late to my 60 min appointment. The salon is not on the front of the street it's through a small alley way back. The store itself is decorated beautifully almost like a chic dollhouse. From the moment I entered the salon I felt rushed. I felt I was gently berated by the front desk man for being late ("We will do the best we can in the time"). The sentiments were echoed by my technician Haley as I was ushered onto the table. After a question or two the process began. The end result was gorgeous! I will admit I love how beautiful and natural the lashes look! Haley did a fabulous job with them. What I didn't like: the stinging in my eye which lasted a while( I was told it was coz the glue wasn't dry enough & yet it was somewhat blown away and I felt I was dismissed from my appointment) While polite, I didn't feel anyone at the salon really cared about how my experience truly was, but like I said before Haley did a great job with the fill and I love how my lashes turned out. The question remains...is going through this rushed experience again worth the fabulous lashes or should I try another salon in hope for better customer service and take a chance on mediocre outcomes? One of the worst customer experiences I've ever had. I was referred to Brow Chic by the hairstylist for my wedding. I secured my date over the phone and was sold the pitch of how professional, responsive and well-run they are. Over the next several weeks, on several occasions I had to email the Operations Manager MULTIPLE TIMES to get a reply back. Not only was the communication horrible, but the service agreement sent to me at the beginning of our conversations mysteriously became "out of date" when I met the minimum number of services to waive the travel fee (which magically changed from $30 to $100). Willing to let all of this go in the instance that the Ops Manager wasn't an "email person," I called the studio to speak with her and clarify all the details of the contract. When I told her my name, she casually said "oh yea - we won't have anyone for your wedding." My wedding is in A MONTH. She told me their makeup artist quit at the end of July and they wouldn't have anyone available. I received NO calls, emails, or any communication notifying me that they would be unavailable for my wedding, nor did I receive any remorse, alternative recommendations, or assistance of ANY KIND from the Operations Manager, Owner (who was right next to her when we spoke on the phone), or anyone else from Brow Chic. Stay AWAY unless you're willing to take a big risk on your big day. read more

Someone paying attention to YOUR brows and your face and your self for half an hour! This is some detailed business, and I was super happy with it being slow and careful. I have the best brow wax I've ever had, and will happily be returning. Kae is a total wizard, and you leave with a shape that works for you, and without your face looking creepy and sunburned. The shop really has it down in terms of tech, too. Have one of those hedge-brow freak-outs at 3am? Make an appointment online! No freaking out until the salon opens only to realize you're boned. Kae and the women at Brow Chic are the best! First, I'll start with the location. Such a cute little shop right on the corner of Selby and Dale. Going to Brow Chic also gives you an excuse to check out Flirt, adorable lingerie shop, Patina, Lula Vintage, Karma boutique and so many other cute stores nearby. Brow Chic for sure has the best space, tucked back into a little Parisian alley way. Kae takes such time and care with my brows, and I feel so polished every time I visit her. Kae also gives great recommendations, and I've found a wonderful woman for facials and bridal hair through her. My mom lives in California and makes it a point to see Kae for brow color when she's back in Minnesota. Most importantly, Kae does amazing bridal airbrush make-up! She enhances the beauty that is already there, and my mom, my mother-in-law, my bridesmaids and me all felt gorgeous the day of my wedding! And Kae was super calm, encouraging and directive on the day of-exactly what I needed for myself and my bridal party the day of my wedding. I can't recommend Brow Chic and Kae highly enough. The Saint Paul location is pretty tough to get to. The street right outside does not allow parking for more than 15 minutes, so you'll need to circle around the block to be able to find parking. For a mid-day appointment or a weekend appointment, this can be pretty challenging. When I booked my lash lift appointment, I thought I had booked it for the Minneapolis location -- so be careful! I arrived a few minutes late and despite the place being completely empty and my sincere apology, they were NOT happy at all. I'm not sure if this was the reason that my service was so bad. But the girl who worked with me was about to start without me removing my contacts until I asked her if they needed to come out--it seems like it is their responsibility to ask these questions. They didn't do a spot test to check for an allergy to the chemicals used. She poked me in the eye and my eyes clenched shut, so rather than apologizing for poking my eyeball, she yelled at me. And when my eyes started BURNING, she didn't offer to flush my eyes with saline. Additionally, she didn't consult me about what type of look I'm going for, and gave me the smallest curved rod, so my lashes ended up super tightly curled at a 90 degree angle. Some of the lashes were applied at weird angles. My eyelashes look CRAZY and I can't wait for this service's poor result to wear off. I've had a much better experience at other salons. I'm disappointed by the poor customer service here. read more
