Finally tried their pizza. First, I believe this is their take on pizza, which they did a really good job with it. I ordered the Greek pizza. This had red onions, garlic, spinach, tomatoes, and black olives. I rate the crust half way between the soft rubbery local pizza, and firm thin crust like NewHaven style, like Frank Pepe. Rubber crust around here sucks, and thin crust gets tired when half way they it. This was the best middle of the road. The garlic is the first thing that hits the senses, and if that's too much for you, then crack a window when driving home with it. Also, if you're a fan of black olives, then this is the pizza for you. Sauce had a good taste to it, and just the right amount of cheese. Why 4 stars? 1) they could of either sharpen the knife, or use more force when cutting it. We had to follow thru cutting it when we got home. 2) PLEASE buy and use a cardboard plate in the box. Although it wasn't at all over greasy, it did soak thru. I had worse, like when we went to a place in Thompson, that was so greasy (and no cardboard plate in it) that I ended up shampooing the carpet in my truck. All in all, you have to try it, and sample it for what it is, and not comparing it to the standard pizzas that are local. read more

We stopped into the Broken Crust Saturday eve having never been there before. We left knowing it would be a regular place for us! The customer service was incredible. The owner introduced us to the staff and family and even treated us to something we didn't order just so we could try it. Then comes the food...a more traditional Rhode Island pizza. It was spectacular!can't wait to go back and try some of the sandwich's on the board (gluten free breads too!). read more

Not a stellar place to eat in and pricey but the food for take out is excellent. I'd recommend the BBQ chicken pizza.

My family got take-out pizza and after a couple bites they all insisted I leave a yelp review. I agreed because wow We got a caramelized onion, spinach, and bacon pizza. I was so happy it was loaded with bacon. Like lots of bacon. I think it had a white sauce that went with it really well too. 10/10. My family eats a lot of pizza (too much. Way too much) and I'm happy we found a local place to get it!! read more

Cute little spot, super nice staff, great live music. Did a to go order for fries and a meatball sub. The idea of the sandwich was great, but not nearly enough sauce and the meatballs were slices instead of balls. I want the balls (lol)! And the fries were put in a closed container, so when we got home which was literally not even 5 minutes away - they were just mush. Flavorful and seasoned well, mush. read more

Food's okay but maybe wait until covid's not a big thing. They had people dining in no masks. I know the mask part is not allowed (the customer is within 6 feet of the employee to get food), and I was under the impression dine-in was also not allowed. Very disappointed in this establishment, $12 for a small grinder (about 7 inches) which had maybe 2 sliced meatballs and sharp provolone which over powered the meatballs. The wait was ridiculous and when I asked for my order to be checked she went into the back came out and wandered the restaurant carry food as she was trying to figure out where the food went. Came back to register and I had to ask if she checked on my order "oh yes he said about 2 more minutes" gee thanks, 10 minutes later I get meatball sub with barely melted cheese. Very peppery also not sure if sauce or meatballs since as I said cheese definitely was strong. read more

We had their BOS specialty pie...bacon, Carmeled onions & spinach on mozzarella. Simply lovely! Excellent crust and the pie was loaded with toppings. Excellent cheese. I've had pies from every joint in town and this one clearly stands out. We ate it as a picnic in a park, but the inside dining area is quite nice. read more

Super unimpressed with the pizza. Sauce was bland and the crust felt like it was pre-made and had sat in the fridge or freezer. The price was not impressive either. Far too expensive for what we got. Nice atmosphere and the clam chowder was really yummy but if you are a pizza place the pizza shouldn't be terrible and for the price it was awful. The chowder saved it from being a one star review. read more

At this time I am giving them 2 stars. I stopped in the other night and ordered 2 pizzas. I was told it would be a 20-25 min wait. An hour later, I finally went up to the counter to find out what was going on. (I was trying to be nice since they just opened). Well come to find out my pizzas were sitting in the back? No one felt the need to bring them out to the counter. So I got home with my cold pizzas, opened them up, and no one had bothered cutting them into pieces either. I was hoping the pizzas would be delicious to make up for the lack of service. Sorry but I wasn't impressed. Very greasy. read more

We ordered a pepperoni pizza a pulled pork sandwich and a pizza bianca, and may I say that it was an amazing take-out experience. Contrary to some other reviews, we found the crust to be tasty and fitting for the pizza. We are looking forward to when we feel ready to dine-in! read more

Just moved to the area and our first time in we were greeted so kindly, offered a glass of wine on the house and our food was brought out in no time at all. Wow. Finally a great pizza place in Northestern CT. We had the Carmalized Onion bacon Spinich pizza. It's a white pizza, with a crispy crust that is to die for. Great flavor, great fresh ingredients. Cheese was so melty and gooey, but not too much or overwhelming. Bacon was crispy, spincha seemed fresh, and carmelized onions perfect. Perfect thin crispy crust. We also purchased the taco pizza, I can not attest to how it was personally, however my 10 year old son loved it. He even liked the crust and he NEVER eats crust. We got my daughter some of the RI style pizza strips and she loved them, and mentioned....the crust....I really hope they are able to survive the covid-19 pandemic, they just opened recently prior to the virus, and are probably struggling. Listen folks of NE CT. They are open for take out, they have curbside service if your worried about the virus. Call them, order, pay over the phone, let them know what vehicle you are coming in, pull up, open up your back door, and they will come to you and slide the pizzas in. I came in on a sleepy afternoon to try the food everyone raving about. First let me say if I am having a meal out I want table service not to place an order standing at a register. Nice menu, overpriced, overseasoned burger & fries. Slow, slow service. My fiance and I absolutely LOVE the pizza here. I usually get veggie or Margherita and my fiance is a meat lovers fan. Delicious sauce, good proportion of toppings, perfect amount of cheese, the crust is great, and it's not greasy at all. I have a sensitive stomach and never feel sick after eating Broken Crust while I cant say that for most pizza places. However, I ventured out and tried a sandwich with fries a few weeks ago and didn't care for them. I got the Mediterranean sandwich and I think it would have been better without so much hummus and the falafel wasn't crisp, it was kind of like another soft layer. I just didn't feel the flavors and textures meshed well together. We live 5 minutes away, I came right away for the food, and the fries were limp and cold. We were really disappointed in that. But the homemade pickles were a nice surprise. I would come here for pizza any day over any other place in town but hesitant to try another sandwich. Very cute inside and pleasant staff. read more

I live in Putnam and my wife and I just ordered a meat lover's pizza tonight , and it was absolutely amazing! I was greeted by the owner himself at the door upon picking up. After trying this pizza, I actually needed to call and talk to the owner again. Explaining to him, he's got a great pizza. But, consistency is my biggest concern. As well as everyone I know. This place is relatively new as of my review. It was clean and classy inside, much more than a typical pizza dive. I really can only comment on the takeout experience as this was a COVID-19 required take-out. The order taker was kind, friendly and made me feel like I called the right place and that they were happy for my business. The order was ready on time and the pick-up was easy and quick. We ordered three large pizzas (2 plain and 1 buffalo chicken). The food was decent, better than a basic pizza place and the pies were well sized. Cost was a bit of a surprise though with the total bill at just over $49 without tip. I often place a similar order at other local shops and the three large pizzas typically run between $32 and $36, so these were much more than I'm used to paying. I would not be likely to order from here again for my weekly pizza run, but I would consider them in the future to sit in for a meal and try the full service experience for that price. I would recommend adding prices to the menu posted on yelp to help customers make the right choices. read more
