Great atmosphere and good service but not a fan of their omelettes or home fries. My wife's Veggie omelette was delicious with goat cheese but my cheese and sausage omelette had almost no cheese in it. The thing about my meals was the grilled bagel.... Which was delicious. Once again, great food. However...I was dining solo. I was offered a seat at the counter. Um, I'm a 70 year old woman. Declined and was seated at a small table close to the counter and kitchen even though there were plenty of other tables available on the other side. Guess because I was alone, but...felt isolating. What an intriguing spot this is! It replaced the old diner on main. WOW, they made some substantial changes. The whole vibe is this kind of galactic theme with a spacey decor. Plenty to take in whilst you converse and eat. The food is super reasonably priced in this modern era of inflation. Breakfast cost what breakfast should, refreshing. It is straight forward diner food with snazzy celestial names. However, they ramp up the usual with things like a bacon jam(put it on anything you can!!) and an apricot chutney. What a great new little breakfast and lunch spot!!! My friend and I met up for breakfast here recently. I had read the reviews before we came and someone had written that the coffee was terribly strong. My first question I asked was about the coffee, our server informed me that they had a little bit of a learning curve to perfect the right amount of coffee grounds to add and now it was good. I ordered an iced coffee and it was very good. I also ordered an egg sandwich on an everything bagel with linguica patty and cheese and a side of home fries. My sandwich was very good, but I was disappointed that there was really hardly any 'everything' on my bagel and next time I'll ask for butter on the bagel. My home fries could have been a little warmer but they were very tasty nonetheless. My friend ordered a traditional breakfast and was very happy with her meal too. They have a case near the front door of items that they bake ...scones, donuts etc. and they looked very good too. Our server was excellent. We loved the 'Jetsons' decor inside!! read more

I had a special called the fiesta boat which had scrambled eggs with bacon, onions, peppers, potatoes, and cheddar cheese in a croissant bowl. I liked the feel of the place when I first walked in. Very friendly staff, and the food came out super quick. The breakfast sandwiches were good, I would've given four stars if the home fries were cooked more. They needed to cooked first then cooked more. Some tasted like they weren't cooked. Ok...I need to be fair here. My breakfast was good. Great..no..but good. They are new and I WILL go back. The theme and decor are excellent but when I go for breakfast...I want the breakfast to be excellent. Again...good but nothing I couldn't get at a regular diner. Service was EXCELLENT...they have that down.. as a side note - they do have housemade donuts which look amazing but I wasn't in the mood. I'll make sure to grab one next time. I was a little hesitant at first bringing two younger children here for breakfast. But we loved it! Very friendly staff who were so patient when it came to the kids ordering. They also brought the kids crayons and we love the kiddie cups they provided. The "space" itself is very family friendly, and when I say space I mean the space themed decor and menu. We got the kids two purple frosted donuts, they enjoyed them but were very filling. We got omelets which tasted delicious and filled us up enough to where we left happy. Overall, highly recommend the Painted Baker, especially to anyone who has younger children who are sometimes hard to entertain. read more

Like the decor - clean and socially comfortable. Service was good, no complaints there. Food is their downfall. No poached eggs of any kind which means no Benedict which is my wife's favorite. I am a big breakfast guy who will usually order eggs plus plus. Waffle maker has been broken for all three of my visits leaving me wanting to donate one maybe. I settled for French toast which was soggy and soaked in too much egg and lacked flavor. Omelette was good and fresh. Potatoes fell on their face. Not homemade, no zip, no flavor and disappointing. Friday afternoon and decided to try lunch. (The menu used for breakfast has lunch on the reverse side, and like breakfast, it looks interesting.) Started with the clam chowder, bowl size, and it was excellent. No doubt it was home made, with red potatoes, carrots, celery, and a good amount of clams. The broth was perfect, not too thick and not watery. I had the blat, bacon lettuce avocado tomato, and elected to have it on sourdough. The avocado made it interesting, and gave it a great taste. My wife had a salad, buffalo chicken. She said it wasn't spicy hot, but just right. Good selection of other veggies in it. We plan on trying every item on the lunch menu, when we get around to it. NOTE: all of the items, breakfast or lunch, have their own cosmic names, so you'll have to read the menu descriptions. There's also a pastry case by the counter when you first walk in. This is my favorite breakfast spot in the Putnam area! Went here quite consistently every Sunday and the service was always spot on! The owners are great people and everyone who works there is truly pleasant. Never had a bad experience. Food is always fresh and exactly how you want your eggs made - perfect. It's also the cutest decor inside and obviously handmade. The effort and care put into this place is the best. Must try is the "Supernova" Breakfast Sandwich; then you'll be asking for the habanero-mango jam on the side with every dish, it's so good!! And even better... fresh pastries on your way out. I do not know where these people had breakfast. But when I went, I got sandwiches meat for my ham that crinkle up when it was served. The toast wasn't even toasted, just heated bread. Being a past NASA contractor, the theme of the entire experience is 60's Jetsons, and I loved it from the moment we walked through the door, blue, orange and yellow from rug to ceiling. They serve Salads, Paninis & Wraps, Soups, Breakfast sandwiches, Omelettes, Back to basics & sides, Pancakes & French Toast, Bagels & Fresh Blended Cream Cheeses. I ordered the Jet Pack which is 2 eggs, toast, home fries, and a choice of meat, mine was bacon. Over easy was perfect, and I asked for crispy home fries, and they were also perfect. My sweetie had the Asteroid Belt Omelette Mushroom, Avocado, Spinach, and Goat cheese. We both loved our breakfast, and the bottomless cup of coffee, finished off the treat. I usually take photos but this day was a little hectic. They serve breakfast all day from 6 am to 2 pm 7 days a week, so if you want to be a regular every day is available. They also have home made pastries of all sorts. Next time we will take some home as they looked delicious. I won't write a review if I don't get to see the rest rooms and they were spotlessly clean with soft close toilet seats, and changing tables. the waitress was very friendly and quick to take our order and a cup of coffee. The interior design of this establishment is amazing!! Love all the mid-century details throughout the whole place (including the bathrooms). The menu features fun names given to the items. I went for breakfast and ordered a coffee, omelette and side of sausage. The coffee was terrible! Very, very bitter. Three creams and a sugar could not get rid of the taste. The meal was not hot. The omelette was okay, not seasoned. Not at all memorable. The home fries were very bland, not seasoned and dry. The sausage links seemed overcooked/microwaved? I was disappointed with the meal considering all the fabulous detail that went into the décor. I will give it a second chance. Maybe baked goods or lunch will be tastier? read more
