Cute restaurant with great ambiance and good food. We waited a while to be sat (the place is large but doesn't actually have a big dining room). There's a porch you can do puzzles on while you wait, as well as a small antiques store on the second floor. After we were seated we waited a while to be greeted by our server. The menu is extensive and lots of great options. We ordered and got our food within a reasonable time frame. Everything was good. We did also wait a while to get our check. We went for breakfast this morning for the first time. It was a bit of a wait but that's to be expected for a good breakfast spot late on a Saturday morning. Plenty to look at ( antiques upstairs) and seating while waiting. Both of us got omelets that were so delicious along with crispy home fries with added onions. So good!!! We are visiting family and staying at a local motel. we were told that this was a great place to eat breakfast. They were correct! We did not wait very long. Played a game of checkers and had a terrific breakfast with a great waitress who had a great sense of humor. The place is decorated with nostalgic items from kitchens past. A friend and I went here for lunch here recently and we loved it. This restaurant is located out in the county, we would have never come across it by accident. Luckily, I read a LOT of reviews when I'm looking for new places to try. We had a lovely lunch here, she picked the burger and fries and I picked a Rueben. We both were very happy with our meals and decided on a bread pudding dessert which was delicious. The restaurant has such a lovely setting with big windows overlooking the fields for golfers to practice their swing. After we were done we walked around taking pictures of the beautiful grounds. We both thought our experience was worthy of 5 stars. But, I came back a couple weeks later with my husband and elderly mom for breakfast. I haven't wrote a review on here in a while but this restaurant is certainly deserving of one. I went here on a Sunday morning and it was already full of people when I got there. That's always a good sign. The wait wasn't too bad, I think maybe 20 minutes or so. In the meantime I checked out the thrift shop upstairs, they had some cool stuff. When my buzzer went off I was swiftly brought to my seat across from the bar seating. I enjoyed looking at the decorations around me. The menu was great and had lots of good options. I ended up getting the big breakfast, I forget the name of it but it had everything including a pancake that was the size of the table. So, I've grown up in CT and I've never been to Brooklyn until now. I was at a wedding the night before and stayed at a motel, and when I wanted breakfast the next morning my sister in law Yelped somewhere to eat. She found this place .07th of a mile down the road, and the reviews were good. It was pouring rain, so we figured there weren't going to be many people out, but as we drove to the restaurant and saw the parking lot, boy were we surprised!! This place was PACKED!! We walked into the lobby and there was a line at least 10 people deep and they continued to come in after us. We waited about 20 minutes, and then we seated. The menu is extensive and has a lot of breakfast items to choose from. My sister in law ordered Biscuits and Gravy, w/ a side of scrambled eggs and home fries and a Belgium Waffle. I ordered the Texas Toast grilled cheese on it comes with egg, and a choice of meat on the sandwich. It also comes with a choice of bacon or ham and home fries. The food came out with in minutes, I was shocked as how fast it came out, even with all the people that were there. The food was very good we had no complaints, the home fries had a great flavor to them as well. I placed several orders to go as well which the other people in our family enjoyed. Our server was friendly and attentive. Too bad that this place in on the other side of the State, literally, or we'd be a regular at this place. If you're in a rush, this might not be the place for you, unless you call ahead for takeout. Expect to wait in line, it's well worth the wait!! read more

Stopped by this place which was recommended by a website during our scenic drive. It's a very cute and quiet place during lunch time. It's such a nice view during the fall especially seeing the colors change. There are windows that surround the restaurant and plants everywhere which makes it such a gem. Decided to go with breakfast since I saw that was what the other two patrons were eating. Let me tell you, I didn't look at the reviews and I didn't have signal to even look so I wasn't prepared for the size of the pancakes. It was twice the size of my hands. It was a nice little spot. First time here, got seated right away. Then we waited for about 11 minutes until our waitress came over and said "You would think someone would've at least asked if you wanted drinks!" Pretty sure that's what she's suppose to do, but it was my first time here so maybe they want other people to start their tables for them. Food was good. The "Miss Piggy" omelet was a big hit with the lady that was sitting at the same table as me, she loved it. I had perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs and the home fries were some of the best I've ever had for breakfast! Only a 3 because the service must have been having an off day. Took a ride out from Boston today on a country Road, saw that this place had a five star review. we sat outside during COVID-19 under a tent which is fine the wait staff seem to be pleasant spoke with a couple of the ladies food is being served on paper plates paper cups for coffee salt and pepper packs are in a brown bag . I would prefer a real plate and coffee cup . We received real silverware. the menu is in both paper and the specials are in a plastic laminate I did ask the waitress if the corn beef hash was homemade and she was honest and said it wasn't I decided to go with the omelette special which was a Choriso hash omelette with cheese although the picture looks good, inside the omelette it was more like chili I really didn't want a chili omelette the home fries were bits and pieces of crispy potato. Raisin toast was good my friend got a side of hash nothing special he said the eggs over easy we're good although we didn't get the pancakes we did see them on the table and they looked humongous I would rate this 2 1/2 stars read more

I have always enjoyed having Breakfast at Country View. However on a recent visit with my service dog and my wife we seated in the corner of the establishment next what used to be a bar. Things have changed in the Quiet Corner we recently attempted to eat at the 85 restaurant and were not permitted to be seated because we had my service dog with me. Stopped in on Black Friday, at 9:45. When we drove in, we have never seen as many cars in the lot as today. So many, that we almost turned around, but gave it a shot. People were waiting to get in, mostly families, but we actually were seated in a couple of minutes. As busy as it was, it took almost ten minutes to get our drink orders. We ordered our coffees and placed our orders at the same time. Our food came in rather quickly considering the full house. My wife had a breakfast type sandwich on an English muffin, and I ordered one of the daily specials, which was a breakfast burrito. My wife's sandwich was constantly dripping as she ate it, not a cheese drip, but a lot of moisture. She got half way and quit. When mine arrived, I noticed that it was a little small for a burrito. Not that much stuffing, and the ends had to much wrapper when they folded them over. After a couple of bites, I hit the no stuffing ends, and I quit eating it like intended and used a fork to get at the insides. Over half of the wrap was used on the folded ends. Either they were in a hurry and passed it on without thinking that the insides were skimpy, for the almost $14 they charged for it, or this was normal for this dish, in which that is a shame! On both of our meals, the home fries were mostly small bits, and only 1/3 were regular sized pieces. I honestly believe, by the looks of it, that we had the end of them off the grill, so they could do a new batch. We left them after a couple of bites. Again, this is unacceptable, to send a plate out, looking like that. I would rather wait to have an almost perfect dish, then to get it fast and half-assed! Like I mentioned, the place was packed, and this was a first time for us, after many visits, that we ate in a packed house, and had such a large group waiting to get in. I don't know if this was a result of a panic mode, but it won't stop us from coming again. We'll just turn around if we see a packed parking lot, and not chance it again. read more

First, I'd like to say that the average person would never just stumble onto this restaurant. When we got directions (on yelp), we were brought down winding back country roads for quite sometime! This gem of a restaurant is a local's secret place. Visiting from Florida, I went on yelp and googled breakfast in Brooklyn. When we arrived, the large parking lot was already filling up. We walked in and a hostess asked "how many in your party?" We said "three, how long of a wait?" She said there was just a party of three before us, so likely 15 minutes. In those 15 minutes, the waiting room filled up with at least 20 more people! We were seated in a timely manner. We ordered the breakfast meals. It was really good but my husband and I asked if we could change our home fries to hash browns. She said "yes, for an up charge". I wish she had suggested that just one of us should order the hash browns because it was a 3.99 up charge per order and they were so huge, we didn't eat one between the two of us! I thought they were delicious though. I wasn't really impressed by the corn beef hash. It was to salty and dry. I would definitely return, but knowing now what I didn't know then, I definitely wouldn't order so much food. Portions are huge. The waitress was very attentive too. read more

Country is something this quiet corner of CT specializes in. I am just in love with Country View Restaurant. It has traditional homey country decor and the same big portions you would expect when eating at grandma's house. The restaurant is completely surrounded by large windows which offer an amazing view to the driving range right next door, big red barns, and rolling country hills. It's an amazing view for a refreshing Sunday brunch. They offer a full bar and an expansive menu of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. I ended up picking a bacon and cheddar omelette with home fries. The omelette was completely stuffed with bacon.. there was absolutely no way I could finish it. YUM. I will be back to tried the loaded potato pancake I had my eyes on. It is a little pricier than your average breakfast joint, but completely worth it for the quality of food, portion sizes, and atmosphere. read more
