The is delicious, and I always enjoy the great service and conversation. It is one of my favorites places to start my weekend.

How long is enough time, today 30 Jan 2026. Waited 1hr 6 minutes then after a table of 3 that came in well after us got served. We left, very disappointed. Waitress apologized 3 times during the hour wait and said your food will be out shortly. Just sad because we had eaten there in the past, always slow but it used to be worth the wait. Spectacular experience here, i had a tough time finding a breakfast place this morning and i came across george's galley. I had walked in and they said i could sit anywhere i'd like, i noticed clean bathrooms and clean tables and everything. i got a cup of coffee that they would constantly be asking if i need more which i really appreciated. i ordered an omelet, home fries and sausages and the food was nothing less than fantastic, 100% will come back. read more

The quality of the food at this place is wasted on some of the worst service I've ever experienced in a diner atmosphere restaurant. I want to love this place - its local, it definitely feels like an old soul in the middle of downtown Danielson, Connecticut.... I think the key word is "old". Not much in the dining area has been updated in a long while and there is a sense that no matter how many times they wipe the tables, it still feels dirty. I've giving this place five chances in the past six months to give me something positive worth writing about, but they've come up short every time. I'm baffled at their store hours for one, and for two, it takes a minute to figure out how to even park at this place, because it's not directly accessible to Main Street, except when exiting the small parking lot. After navigating parking, you walk into a dirty dining area and immediately have low expectations, but the pricing matches those feelings. Dirty cheap dining food... I can actually handle that.... but people that come in AFTER us getting served BEFORE us really frustrates me. Order a chocolate milk and experience a 10 minute wait (almost 15 but I'm being generous) and my kids only wanted water which came when the chocolate milk came.... coffee is johnny on the spot, but don't bother asking for Splenda because it will be promised and forgotten three times... it never comes... I have no review of their bathroom because I will not even chance going in there... This place is way cheaper than Deb's Place up the street, but for a good diner service experience at fair prices with good food, I'd recommend Zip's Diner in Dayville, or Bill's in Putnam - or in Jewett City, Dean's Corner or Charlene's Diner.... and a little over the RI line on route 6 we like Shady Acres. So, I've asked friends if our aggravating experience is unique, and 100% have said no - this place sucks. I'm sorry for the cooks whom have done a good job with what they have to work with and for the service staff that may be better than what my friends and I have experienced, but don't go here - and if you go to Deb's you might actually experience a $30 plus dollar breakfast for TWO people!!! 3 chocolate milks at 3 plus dollars EACH adds up quick!! In closing - I've given George's Galley a fair chance to be better to my family 5 times now, and I'm done. Set your expectations really really low and they just might meet them... but probably not. Go to George's for a disappointing dirty dining experience, every time. read more

Ill give it one star due to the cost being very fair. I got a reuben and it was tasteless, the fries were ok, my waitress was non existent and I was the only one in there. I had to go up to the counter from my booth to get a refill on coffee. I wouldnt recommend at all! read more

Nice place for a quick lunch! Nothing fancy, inside could use some updating. Not much parking & service is slow for what I ordered (sandwich). I'm willing to give them another try next time I'm in the area , if I can find a spot to park! Also very noisy diner! read more

This is my lunch date spot for when I visit my dad. We both love the milkshakes and service. My dad is a fan of their salads, fries, and clams. I love their subs. This diner will take you back to before I was born, which is what makes it so wonderful. This is a diamond in the rough that is Northeastern Connecticut. read more
