Chicken salad is the best. Their garlic butter sauce is delicious. There are many mediterranean restaurants in fresno, but broilers are by far one of the best. Its not too expensive or fancy and it leans more towards a fast food place rather rhan a sit down...but regardless of the lack of ambiance they make up for it with taste. Straying from Asian food scares and excites me at times but this place is sure to please. I get the combo plate with extra pitas and garlic sauce. Sucks they charge now for the garlic sauce but I still need it. I haven't found a place besides Broilers that I like so that's saying something. REALLY disturbing experience today. Ordered the beef shawarma plate for my 4 year old daughter and I to share. Found this in our plate!!!! Disgusting!!!! I told my family not to eat anymore. Clearly, we only took a bite or two, my plate is full. I showed the cashier my plate and asked for a refund of my entire purchase. The cashier couldn't believe a screw was in my plate. She said she had to call the owner "Tommy" for my refund. He apparently asked her for a picture and that he was only going to refund my plate. I told the cashier she needed to refund my entire order as no one ate their food and I was going to call the Health Department and the media regarding this experience. She calls Tommy again and when she gets off the phone, she said she was going to refund my entire order and that Tommy was "sorry". I told her no he wasn't because if he was, he would have provided customer recovery and refunded my payment the first time I asked. Instead, I had to basically threaten to take action before I could get my $30 back. REALLY? Customer SAFETY and satisfaction over $30?!?? I would have been fine if he would have just refunded my payment, but now I want everyone to know how greedy and despicable this owner is. read more

Never write Yelp reviews but I had to for this situation . 2 days ago I called my order in for me and my kids at 7:30 I went and picked it up 10 mins later when I got home I went to eat it and it smelled and tasted like chemicals. I tried the other food and got the same taste. It was as if they were cleaning up getting ready for closing and sprayed the food. I didn't want to eat that or give it to my kids so I had to throw it away I couldn't call back that night because they had already closed . The next morning I called and told them what happen expecting them to remake the food or a refund because I spent 30 dollars that went to waste . They told me that the manager wasn't there so they couldn't help me and that they would call me the next day . The next day came and still nothing . I've never had a place just not care about customer service like this one. I loved this place and came all the time but I won't be coming back after this . read more

Every time someone asks me where I want to get lunch, I always suggest Broilers. It's my favorite place in Fresno to get a quick lunch. Everything I've tried there is awesome and the service is always very friendly. I don't know what people mean when they say it isn't. I went to Broilers with my daughter and husband, my daughter ordered a side of fries and my husband a beef plate. We were told by the cashier that the beef plate came with fries, so I asked to cancel the side order of fries for my daughter and asked if they could put my husbands fries on a side plate for her, since he is diabetic and could not eat the fries. The cashier asked her coworker if this was something they could do, the coworker stated that they were not allowed to take the fries off the plate order and place them on a plate. I then told the cashier to cancel the side order of fries and I would take them off the plate myself for my daughter. After completing this painful order we took our seats. A customer, that we did not know went up to the counter to ask for a side of garlic sauce and overheard the staff "trash" talking about me and my family. This customer was shocked and outraged and asked for the number of their manager. The customer that overheard the disrespectful staff talking about us came over to us and let us know that she would be calling their manager. Basically we spent over $50 dollars to be talked about and treated poorly by a bunch of adolescent brats!!!!!!! read more

Beef Shawerma is yums! Comes with 2 pitas, thinly sliced beef, side of rice pilaf & hummus and you assemble it yourself. Can easily feed two or have one now and save the rest for a little snack later. The bf always raves about this place & now I know why! Beef is a little salty, but that's just my preference. Based on my experience on 11/8/17 I'm officially done with this place! My family of five use to order from here frequently but unfortunately it has truly taken a dive. I called in ahead of time to place our order because I was rushing to get my son to an appointment. I ordered two plates and asked the total. The girl taking my order asked how far away I was and I said I was less than five minutes away. I asked again if I could get the total to which she replied, "I don't have it right now. " Understanding that this was an extra step for her, I explained that I was asking because I intended to give my son cash so he could run in and grab the food. She sighed and asked me to hold. It was $29 and I did not have that much cash with me so I needed to go in myself. Good thing I asked. I was delighted to see no one was in line when I arrived. At least five young girls walk out from the back and one asks to take my order. I let her know I had placed the phone order. The cook asked her what it was and she tells the cook my order which they BEGIN to prepare. Upon seeing this, I reacted with raised eyebrows. My eyes must have expressed my surprise that this was just being communicated when I called 8 minutes earlier. So, the girl looks at me and says, "Did you have something you wanted to say?" With a certain tone of attitude. Oh, boy. Now I'm more shocked by her rudeness than her inability to complete a simple task. I had no comment. My feedback would have been completely lost on this group. Not only could five ladies not successfully put together a phone order (with an empty restaurant) but the lack of basic politeness and manners was a major turnoff. There is no place in America that makes a shawerma like The Broilers. And I have looked, west to east coast. Shawerma just isn't appreciated by other restaurants the way The Broilers does: it's always taking a back seat to gyros and falafel. Other high and mighty Mediterranean restaurants (like Lebanese Taverna at Tyson's Corner near DC) make the shawerma too delicate, the flavors are exotic and you get the inverse of what you pay for. Shawerma is like a burrito: you always enjoy it better when you can pack it down with a vengeance. And nothing hits the spot like TB beef shawerma and rice pilaf does. read more

For one thing they don't even use real pitas, and they call Tzaziki sauce "cucumber sauce". I have not tried their gyros yet, so I can't say anything on those. But overall my "wrap" was bland, the chicken was dry and too burnt for my taste, and there was more lettuce than anything else. The cucumber sauce they used tasted like straight up sour cream, so not quite what I was hoping for. Went in today for lunch, order to go 4 shawarma beef, got to work about 7 mins later and stared eating..... just meat stuffed in pita bread.......... meat was dry. No other flavors or additives. I used to go here all the time. I stopped going because I went in for dinner one day only to hear the cooks in the back using very inappropriate profanity in Spanish towards their co-worker. Because of this I was very unsatisfied seeing how the cooks talk to their fellow co-workers. If I'm going to pay close to $40 for my family of 4 to eat lunch somewhere I would expect it to be a nice table service place. The "kids" chicken and rice bowl was RIDICULOUSLY small for $7. It was the equivalent of a half a scoop of rice and a few pieces of chicken. The meat on all our other orders were dry, as if it had been sitting around for hours. The counter staff were rude and short with all the customers. If I'm going to spend that much money, I will go to Phoenician Gardens next time and get waited on!! This is one of my go-to places for lunches at work. This is a super casual place to get your Mediterranean fix. My favorite is the beef and hummus "sandwich," which is more like a wrap in a gyro. Prices for combo plates are decent, if not a little on the pricey side for a place like this. Ok, the food: solid. I've had the chicken plate and the beef sandwich. Not a bad experience with either, but for the price I like the sandwich better. It was a little too much, though. I mean there really was too much beef piled, too much hummus, a little greasy, but all that is an easy fix - just remove some of the food and it's good to go. Definitely big enough for a good size lunch. It can get busy for lunch so a little before or after and you'll be fine. It sometimes takes a while to get your food after you've ordered though so go here knowing that you shouldn't be in a hurry. There are a fair number of tables inside. All in all, I like this place for what it is: a pretty quick easy place to get decent Mediterranean during a lunch break. read more
