We had an amazing meal here! It's a fun place with a cool interior filled with old fashioned nik-knacks placed on the walls, ceiling shelves- the kids had a blast playing I Spy. We came for an early early dinner (kids!) so we could walk in and there were open tables but by the time we left, the place was full! As the name of the restaurant says it's a bakery as well. They showcase the different breads in their bread bar. More about that later. Let me warn you... the portions are large! I got the spinach lasagna ($23.50) which came with a salad and the bread bar. When I got the salad I was shocked to see a huge, almost entree sized salad. The lasagna had ricotta, spinach layers smothered in Alfredo sauce. It was delish but I think they can go a lot less on the sauce. It was buttery, almost too buttery as well. But it was dang good! So that bread bar... if you love bread like I do, you'll be in carb heaven. They feature different kinds of bread baked that day- there was the usual French bread but they had flavors like rosemary, garlic,black pepper and the most unusual - curry cranberry. Don't be afraid to try the different flavors. The cranberry curry ended up being my favorite. Behind the bar is where you can find the different kinds of butter and olive oil. If you want balsamic vinegar, you'll need to ask your server. Sadly I gorged on the bread and couldn't eat my meal. My daughter ordered the HALF order of Seafood Louie ($20.80). When it came to the table, we burst out laughing because the thing was full entree sized where we come from. It was chock full of fried calamari, huge grilled prawns, little bay shrimp and an egg. She had a hard time finding a starting place to take the first bite without it spilling over. She really like the thousand island dressing too. My suggestion is to get it on the side to add as you work your way down. Mussels & Clams ($15.50) was also a hit- big and plump and the broth went perfectly with bread. The kids buttered noodles ($5.75) were good but it was kind of swimming in butter. They could've used half the amount. But the noodles were nice and al dente. Service was great and very accommodating- a big shout out to Jesus! FYI, a tip of 18% is automatically added to the bill with option to add. If we're ever back in Omak, we're definitely returning! Actually we did come back the next morning to buy the bread but unfortunately we were there before they opened. read more

Wow!! Don't miss this little gem enroute to Canada or into the US on hwy 97!! It is soo cool! The menu is fun with so many things on it. A book!! The salads, sandwiches, hoagies, burgers all looked sooo good. They have 14 homemade salad dressings!! And you can take home a bottle! The desserts!! Omg, the all look just yummy and homemade!! We stopped in with family, including two small kiddos, and had a great evening meal. The atmosphere is lively, decor kitschy and staff very friendly. The menu has a wide, wide variety of options, something for everyone. Kids enjoyed their spaghetti meal, lots of smiles and spaghetti on their faces. There is visually lots to take in. The restaurant itself is pretty quaint. The tables are relatively small for our party of 4. Plenty of antique stuff on the walls and hanging from the ceiling. Decent enough atmosphere. Ordered the Twisp and a cup of the French Onion Soup. The soup tasted pretty good, but was missing that gooey cheese goodness that makes it so dang good! The Twisp, which is a grilled chicken, ham, pineapple, and Swiss sandwich served with mustard. Only drawback here was the canned pineapple, otherwise it was a decent sandwich. read more

This place has great decor and excellent service (really excellent, kind and tolerant to banter) but the vast menu manifests in certain dishes being much more hit-or-miss than you'd want, especially with all other components of the dining experience being so good. I always enjoy going to the breadline, usually it's amazing. Tonight was not so great.. I ordered chicken Alfredo and got normal Alfredo. I feel like the Alfredo had no flavor to it and was terrible. I left leaving my plate full did not take any leftovers. My partner ordered the chipotle chicken pasta and ended up leaving half the plate was not worth even taking home. My son got a kid chicken strips meal and was covered in red seasoning on the fries, chicken and fruit. He kept saying his food was to spicy, "there's red peppers on my chicken". Tonight the only good thing I had was the bread and my side salad. Not happy nor impressed for spending 80$. read more

Not bad, the burger patty was very thick but also dry. Each mouthful melt super dense and heavy to swallow. Not enough cheese to really taste it on the burger. I thought the engraved bun was fun but otherwise the meal was lacking in flavor and moisture. Fries were subpar, although appearing so be heavily seasoned they were bland and either undercooked or burnt. The only saving grace of the whole meals was the excellent service. Our waitress was a nice young woman with glasses and two braids who was extremely kind and polite. Her service was by far the best part of the meal, thank you. We are traveling through and saw that the Breadline Cafe had a lot of good reviews, and chose to have dinner there. It was super! All accolades are well-earned. Finally a restaurant that has Vegan options! Love the options to create your own burger. Had the portobello burger. Cooked to perfection. Bun was light and fresh. Lots of vegs to add to burger. Had the side green salad and it took up half the plate. On my second time going I had the Thai chicken salad and held the chicken off. It had a nice peanut dressing over very fresh vegs that filled the entire dinner plate! And the whole wheat bun was so fresh and delicious. My husband had the chicken later for dinner and loved it. I downloaded the menu, read it to my husband who wasn't really wanting to dine out - and he was on his way out the door & in the car ready to go by the time I got thru half the menu. Best food in Omak. I am there with my staff on average 3 days a week. The service is always good and the food it great. The only thing I have to complain about is the prime rib on Friday nights is terrible. I have had it on 3 or 4 occasions and it has been absolutely flavorless. It's endearing that the ambiance extends out onto the sidewalk where I found myself still singing along to the jukebox era of oldies. The food was just so-so. Luckily the huckleberry shake came out first - this was delish! Everything else I could've left behind. The Caprese half-pizza with Caesar lunch combo was a total miss. The tomatoes on the pizza were soggy and less than tasty. Not sure how we ended up in Omak, but we came, we saw, and we ate here. This was a really interesting place with very cool decor. Everyone was extremely nice from beginning to end. The menu here is absolute insanity though; it's so long, and slightly overwhelming, but not without some good options. I ordered the Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps which was pretty delicious. It was definitely a lot bigger than I anticipated, good sharing size I think. I also indulged a bit in the all you can eat "breadline", which was slightly disappointing. They have so many wonderful options but I just wish there was a toaster, or that the bread was toasted. It would have really added to the experience, but they were adding fresh bread consistently so that was nice overall. To end the meal we had, we all ordered a Mondo Root Beer Float. This place is basically affordable fine dining. I've visited once for lunch and once for dinner, and both times I had really tasty food and excellent service. Josh at the bar is a consummate professional, extremely good at making everyone feel welcomed, making unique cocktails, and giving insights into the menu and wine/drink selections.
