I would have given this a better score if food would have been warmer. We came in and had breakfast at lunch time. Had heard a lot of good comments about this place. They have been around for 30 years. Server was very nice. Gravy not bad. Definitely from a can but they might add sausage to it. Eggs cooked just like we ordered them so basically just warmer food. Probably the most difficult task aside from bull riding is running a restaurant and staying in business. Double down when you are trying to do that in a rural town. So with that in mind, my review isn't to be compared to some trendy hit spot in the cool part of Seattle. What I did find here was a clean, well staffed, bustling little American Cafe. The decor is country cute. There is seating for about 50, and on this wintery Saturday morning the place was bustling. I was solo so I sat at the counter. Regulars were greeted by name and knew the staff, the local sheriffs were eating here, so I felt it was a safe bet. It's hard to screw up a basic two egg breakfast, and mine was very good. Bacon portion was generous, and the house potatoes were tasty. Sitting at the counter afforded me the opportunity to see some I've the other menu items go out, and they all looked good. If I could describe the place in one word it would be...mediocre. This not even basic bitch of a restaurant not only delivers subpar customer service but food that is more then a lacking, and bathrooms/back area that smells like backed up sewer. I got the egg burger with fries. My fries were still cold in the middle, like they were frozen and then had not been in the fryer for long enough. My husband got the French toast plate. He said it was good, the eggs were cooked the way he wanted and sausage was better then Denny's. The thing about the fries could have very easily been forgotten if the customer service would have been even a little bit better. My most basic request/expectation with customer service is that my water/iced tea be refilled. The waitress did not refill our waters, iced tea, or coffee at all. We were out of any sort of beverage the entire time we were eating. Even after we went up to the counter and asked for a refill. She never came and asked us how our food was. And the very very worst was she never brought us a check, even when we asked for one. I had my debit card out sitting on the table in front of me, not sitting at the end of the table signaling just take it. When she came up and grabbed it I asked for the check and all she said was "do you want a receipt?". I would never come back here, nor would I ever recommend this place to anyone. Omak is a small town and because it's a small town, there's not a lot of variety, so when a C- restaurant like Magoos is open on the off chance, people flock here. It's a little sad because Omak deserves better. First of all, the one waitress there is terrible and a little absent minded. We waited a good 10 minutes to just get acknowledged, then more time to get our drink order, and even MORE time for our food to arrive. Patience is a virtue but we probably could've driven to Chelan and had brunch by the time they brought our food. Secondly, the food is below average as best and the prices are outrageous for breakfast. The eggs are ridiculously bland and every time I've come here, my toast has been scorched. Maybe if they were open a little more, and at reasonable times, they wouldn't have to charge $14 for an one ingredient, two egg omelette. Maybe it's the waitress, maybe it's the cook, maybe it's the owner. Who knows! But this place does not live up to its hype. read more

This restaurant has a Disney motif throughout. It kind of weirded my husband and myself out, but as I said to him, if the food is good, that is what matters. Well, the food was good! I had the hash skillet with a biscuit. The biscuit was dense, but flavorful and broke apart easily. For the skillet, the combination of flavors was very satisfying. Overall, I was disappointed that I was on a motorcycle trip and couldn't take the leftovers with me. One suggestion I have is for the restaurant to start brewing their own iced tea. We stoped here for breakfast on a Sunday traveling home. We expected the place to be busy being the only restaurant in town and on a Sunday. The menu is quite expansive for a small restaurant and with so much buisness. I think they could narrow this down a bit. The staff was friendly and our coffee cups were filled constantly. The prices however were on the high end and seemed a bit much for amount and quality of food. The food.... The food is very mediocre and could tell that the cook was rushed. I had ordered a skillet type dish and found the cheese wrapper burried inside of my meal. When the waitress brought me a small portion to make up for it the sausage was uncooked and still raw. When we paid I thought this meal would have been removed from our ticket but it was not... We won't return. read more

Gloomy rainy morn in Omak. Magoo's SAVED my day! Not only were the eggs done perfectly over medium rare, the pit ham steak was half the size of a big plate, Magoo potatoes were very good, and the biscuit was OK. Coffee was excellent. I even got a fill up of my travel mug for the trip back to Spokane. I was bummed out on that gloomy morn in Omak. Then a ray of sunshine broke thru when I visited Magoo's.
