We came for an early early dinner (kids!) so we could walk in and there were open tables but by the time we left, the place was full! As the name of the restaurant says it's a bakery as well. They showcase the different breads in their bread bar. More about that later. Let me warn you... the portions are large! I got the spinach lasagna ($23.50) which came with a salad and the bread bar. When I got the salad I was shocked to see a huge, almost entree sized salad. The lasagna had ricotta, spinach layers smothered in Alfredo sauce. It was delish but I think they can go a lot less on the sauce. It was buttery, almost too buttery as well. But it was dang good! So that bread bar... if you love bread like I do, you'll be in carb heaven. They feature different kinds of bread baked that day- there was the usual French bread but they had flavors like rosemary, garlic, black pepper and the most unusual - curry cranberry. Don't be afraid to try the different flavors. The cranberry curry ended up being my favorite. Behind the bar is where you can find the different kinds of butter and olive oil. If you want balsamic vinegar, you'll need to ask your server. Sadly I gorged on the bread and couldn't eat my meal. My daughter ordered the HALF order of Seafood Louie ($20.80). When it came to the table, we burst out laughing because the thing was full entree sized where we come from. It was chock full of fried calamari, huge grilled prawns, little bay shrimp and an egg. She had a hard time finding a starting place to take the first bite without it spilling over. She really like the thousand island dressing too. My suggestion is to get it on the side to add as you work your way down. Mussels & Clams ($15.50) was also a hit- big and plump and the broth went perfectly with bread. The kids buttered noodles ($5.75) were good but it was kind of swimming in butter. They could've used half the amount. But the noodles were nice and al dente. Service was great and very accommodating- a big shout out to Jesus! FYI, a tip of 18% is automatically added to the bill with option to add. If we're ever back in Omak, we're definitely returning! Actually we did come back the next morning to buy the bread but unfortunately we were there before they opened.

We waited in line for about 15 minutes before one of the workers let everyone know that one person should order while the other secures a table. I came with my mom and my boyfriend, so we made sure we all communicated what we wanted before I had my mom find us a table. Luckily, she was able to grab an outdoor seat with an amazing view of the blueberry farm. We waited about 10 minutes for our food to arrive. It was a little strange getting our pies before our breakfast, but it was fine since the breakfast came about 10 minutes later. We really enjoyed the breakfast, it was delicious, but it was definitely on the heavier side. Between the gravy and everything else, we were feeling a serious food coma afterward. The desserts were interesting. We enjoyed the blueberry pie, but the texture of the banana cream pie was a little off for us. It almost felt like whipped butter. The blueberry juice was delicious! We would've bought some to take home, but the line was way too long and we didn't feel like waiting again. Overall, the food was good, but the process of finding a table and ordering seemed confusing for a lot of people behind us. I would totally come back again. I'd love to try blueberry picking next time! When we visited, it was $3.50 per pound.

Wait in a ridiculous line and pray you can even find a table. If you do manage to find a table, expect to be bumped, a lot. It's so incredibly cramped that you feel like you're being held hostage. The food is not worth the wait. It's incredibly mediocre, even by way of breakfast food which is incredibly difficult to mess up. Stale coffee, canned drinks, just nothing really special about the food in any way, shape, or form. The views are great. That's all I have to say in terms of the positive. Overall, this is not a place I will be giving my business to again, nor will any of my family, who are all Chelan County locals. We're not the only locals to avoid this place, either. The egregious waits and bland food we could deal with, but the business's online conduct and the way they choose to represent themselves have made this an absolute no-go.

Weather enjoying a Carne Asada burrito at one of the fast food stands that ends in -erto's, enjoying a meal at long, gone places like Acapulco, or bellying up to some swanky new wave fusion place with rainbow colored tortilla chips and "salsa flights," I've tried them all. So when I say that El Torito bar and Grill is a good Mexican food restaurant, that should mean something. Moreover, is someone who has visited 49 of the 50 states by car, with a family of five in tow, we've definitely stopped at our fair share of Mexican food restaurants... Some of them were amazing, and some of them were no Bueno. But this place is an honest to goodness, authentic Mexican food restaurant. Your first clue: the rice and beans. I know, they come with everything... But if you don't know how to make real rice and beans, the rest of it really doesn't matter. This place knows what's up. The burritos, Carne Asada, fajitas, combination plates with things like enchiladas and chile rellenos-- everything here is delicious. Modestly priced, but for the only game in town place, it's a pretty good deal at 20 or 30 bucks a head. Service has always been very good, and the shot of tequila when they bring the bill out is always a nice touch, especially as you're about to include the propina. :) The vibe inside is laid-back, with casual visitors, families, and groups like us... People visiting from out of town who are here to enjoy some local fishing, and the welcoming comfort of local business.
