We enjoyed a brisket sandwich with mac and cheese, a turkey sandwich with their signature cornbread dressing, and rounded out the meal with banana pudding and peach cobbler! Even though the lunch rush was in full swing, service was prompt and friendly. The food was hearty and satisfying--while it's not "craft barbecue," it delivers plenty of flavor, and their award-winning ribs are worth a try according to the locals. If you find yourself in the Natchitoches area, Sweetie's is worth checking out.

After dodging the usual burger‑and‑fries suspects, I stumbled across this spot and thought, Why not, let's roll the dice. I couldn't decide what to order, so an employee suggested the turkey plate. Cool. Sounds solid. Except where I'm from, a "plate" usually comes with maybe a vegetable or possibly a carb. Something that lets you know it's a plate. But nope. Not here. That's what I get for not asking (lol). What arrived was... a turkey wing. The wing and the drumette. Now don't get me wrong -- the wing was tasty. Crispy, seasoned, no complaints there. But calling it a "plate" felt a little ambitious. Good flavor, decent portion and a lesson learned: in Natchitoches, always ask what comes with the plate. ( Lol)

Absolutely ATROCIOUS!!! We had two Mothers pick this…read morerestaurant to eat at on their special day and it was horrible. We sat almost 2 1/2 hours waiting and in that time frame 2 tables were served their food order...2!! Our waitress was extremely rude, brought me someone's else's drink from another table, she still had the stamp from the bar from last night on her hand so I assume she was dealing with a hangover and obviously didn't want to be there judging by her violent demeanor. The table next to us ordered at 11:45 and was finally served at 2:00 (cold) after complaining about the time. After our long wait we were told our orders hadn't even began to be prepared. You could look into the kitchen and orders were cooked and ready but not being brought out, stacked everywhere you could see. We when questioned we were told they were busy because of Mothers Day but you could clearly see it was not packed but extremely busy, the lack of effort from some of the staff, poor planning, poor preparation, and poor communication from the management made this a bad day for the Mother's and their special day. After 40+ years I don't think I'll be visiting their establishment again after today....

If you're craving sushi and in Natchioches, you have got to try Hana. My boyfriend and I were…read morefiending sushi. Now I don't know if you know this, but Louisiana isn't exactly known for their sushi. Still, this place had good reviews and he was craving a spicy tuna roll like no other. The restaurant is located downtown, right down the street from Northwestern State University. The area is adorable and Hana has a really nice spot. We sat at the bar and were treated to a delicious crab and cucumber salad. We ordered 5 rolls, all averaging from $5-$10. Being used to New York City prices, this was a steal! The rolls came out about 5 or 10 minutes later and they were amazing. This place could easily rival any other expensive place I've gone to in the city. My favorite was the Tiger's Eye Roll. It had smoked salmon, cream cheese, and jalapeno covered in rice. The Spicy Tuna roll was very interesting. It tasted like the chef had rolled the tuna in jalapeno juice. It was too spicy for my liking but my boyfriend liked it a lot. We had another roll (maybe the rock and roll?) that was stuffed with snow crab, cucumber, jalapeno, and topped with tuna and crunchy. The pieces were so big they were hard to fit in my mouth! Regardless of the size, this roll was delicious. The Crawfish Roll was my boyfriend favorite. It had crawfish tempura, snow crab, and avocado. The sauce that was on it was amazing and the crawfish was absolutely perfect. Our check came and it was only $40. The only problem was we ordered 5 rolls but only received 4 rolls. Our waitresses had changed, so the new waitress didn't know quite what to do. The chef insisted that he gave us 5 rolls but unless two of the rolls only had 4 pieces (as opposed to the typical 8) then we only received 4 rolls. My boyfriend tried to explain that the other roll we ordered had shrimp tempura in it. Clearly, there were no tails leftover on our plates therefore we did not get the roll. The waitress was flustered and said the chef said he gave it to us. Finally, we told her to just run the card. So much for the customer always being right. The place was super dead for a Saturday night. The restaurant itself was so cute and charming, definitely a perfect date spot. The service is meh. We weren't there that long yet we had two or three different waitresses. Plus the whole debacle with the missing roll. Could've been handled better, for sure. All that being said, if I ever find myself in Natchitoches and craving sushi again, I will definitely be hitting up this place.
