This awesome little food cart is ran by a group of young folks that are super friendly and jovial…read more Usually found outside of the Oregon Wine Lab, I think they've moved to a new location now. Our favorite dish is the Tofu Rice Bowl with all the fixings and the spicy sauce. It's the best tofu rice dish in town, hands down! They also make a wonderful Bahn mi! The baguette is crispy, the pickled veg is tangy and the tofu is perfectly cooked! They offer all food options in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options so there is something for everyone! Sadly no photos this time but definitely give them a try!

I was super excited and looking forward to trying this Vietnamese food truck to satisfy my Bay Area…read morecravings. I was slightly disappointed at the selection, hoping for more choices, but I understand the limitations for food stall offerings. Three types of proteins to choose from (steak, chicken, tofu) which can be served 3 ways--over rice, noodles or sandwich style. Grilled pork would have been a nice protein add. You have to decide upon your "boat" mode---rice (com), vermicelli (bun) or bread (banh mi). The rice & vermicelli are served with a side salad. I ordered and enjoyed my lemongrass chicken "bun" boat. The portion was well balanced with the noodles to salad ratio and it was filling. The chicken had a nice sear and flavorful--I just wished it was a tad spicier. The steak "com" boat tasted good--I wish it was served with broken rice and maybe some fish sauce. I enjoyed my food experience and I thought it was reasonably priced at $11, but note the steak costs a bit more at $14. They do not sell any beverages, you have to purchase drinks inside the bar. Service is great, the wait was short on our visit and your food is brought to you. It's a cute patio area to enjoy your meal and a glass of wine. I wish they offered lighter fare, small bites, like fresh spring rolls (gio cuon) or egg pancakes (bahn xeo). The link to their website on this page is non-functioning as of this writing.

The food options are great. Sandwiches, hummus plate, soft pretzel, soup, and slices of pizza. Vegan and meat options and something for everyone. We've seen some great music here sitting at a table and dancing up front. There's a nice area outside that's dominated by smokers, but to each their own. We just love catching a show here!

Casey Neill and his Norway Rats infested the place, occupying many holes stubbornly, much to our delight and ultimate benefit. For 20-plus years I've been making the pilgrimage to Eugene every few years (usually on the occasion of PIELC) -- and without fail, at some point we would end up at Sam Bond's Garage. But this year -- no Sam Bond's. It's turned into the Whit franchise of a pizza place, apparently. (No disrespect to their pizza. It's delicious.) But. What happened to my favorite bar/music spot in Eugene?? Such an unspeakable loss, if this venue is actually permanently closed. I will remain hopeful that it will be reborn... somewhere else? But if not: RIP Sam Bond's Garage. We, from near and far, loved you. Thank you for the good times you gave us all.

Dos Banderas - Asada tacos. Bland, and tasted overwhelmingly of liquid smoke.

This was my first real foray into the Mexican food scene in Eugene/Springfield... and I really,…read moretruly hate to be harsh, but I'm sorry to say that I'm not sure it could have gone much worse. With my dad being in town with me, the two of us decided to go on a late-night taco run. We went with a big order that included 2 carne asada tacos, 2 tacos campechanos, an asada burrito, and a chorizo breakfast burrito. Starting with the asada itself: it was just depressingly, woefully bland. The meat was crying out for any sort of seasoning. Somehow, though, this wasn't the worst part -- even more strikingly, it was clear that liquid smoke was likely used as well. If you've never tasted liquid smoke before, it's a horrible, powerfully artificial flavor that should go nowhere near any quality piece of meat. Color me thoroughly impressed if this was not the case here. The asada burrito had almost no asada in it, despite my dad requesting "double" meat. The chorizo had a strange aftertaste, not super pleasant. Furthermore, proper chorizo gives a bright punch of acidity, a stout kick of spice, and a rich unctuousness (aka: that sinful, I-hate-myself fattiness... you know the one) -- this had none of those things. Making a duo of the asada and chorizo in the tacos campechanos did not elevate either meat; it ended up kind of just being a tandem of sadness and regret. My dad -- who never, ever says anything bad about Mexican food -- may have put it best: "Yeah... this was pretty freakin' bad." I will say that the service was friendly and informative... I will always, always appreciate and recognize that in a business. The food, on the other hand, I'm sorry to say might have been the worst I have had to date as far as Mexican goes. I am hoping (praying!) that I find a go-to taco/burrito spot around these parts soon -- I may go certifiably insane if I don't.

They were open late night but food was horrible, should've just opted for an overpriced hot dog instead. Do not recommend the carne asada at ALL, maybe the other meat is okay but everything was super greasy as well, the tortillas full of grease, the torta unnecessarily greasy too. Everything was just terrible, don't recommend especially if you're hispanic and actually enjoy good tacos.
