My friend got the house salad, salmon and shrimp, mash potatoes, and classic cheesecake. My filet and Galicia mash potatoes were delicious! The shrimp lacked flavor. My friend was constantly picking out pieces of bones from her salmon. Our server Nicole was great! But overall we had a great time!

The reason I didn't write a review after the first visit was because I needed to give them a second chance. The first visit was not good. All I will say about it is thank goodness they removed the lobster bisque from the menu. And word of advice about most restaurants, you don't want to be one of the last tables before closing. No one wants to be there! Ok, back to January 2026! We had 8:15 reservations. We stopped by to see if we could be seated earlier and they said they had nothing available. Ummmmm, there was like 20-30 tables open! They just didn't have the servers. So we waited and got Kyle, who again was awesome. Because of something wrong with my throat, I could only order soft food. So I ordered the Veal Osso Buco Ravioli and Au Gratin potatoes. The ravioli was a table win for all of us! Best bite of the night. The potatoes were not a winner. Au gratin potatoes are supposed to be in a flavorful cheesy cream sauce. We got a bowl of diced white potatoes with melted cheese on top. No seasoning. No sauce. I was looking for soft food, not flavorless! It was not a good look for a steak house. Speaking of steak, JD did enjoy his steak both visits, so they've got that very important part going for them. The restaurant is huge. I saw a sign out front that its capacity is 600+. But with their staffing issues, at least they realize not to seat a full restaurant. They even had signs up that To-Go orders were not allowed the Friday night we were there. Would I eat here again, yes. Is it a must have when at the casino? Not for me.

My husband and I split the peanut crusted trout and the pecan pear salad. Portions were generous and we were both stuffed. The trout was phenomenal...very twnder and tasty! Paired with brussel sprouts which had a great flavor and extra tasty (especially when you dipped them in the sauce from the trout). The Pecan pear salad was really good! Very generous with all the goodies (pecans and raisins) and lightly dressed. Michael was great and kept us well taken care of. We will definitely be back the next time we come through!! (We dug into the deviled eggs before I could snap a picture, but I managed to get a few.)

Don't go past the light, or you'll miss it. Suggested to us by a local, we nestled up to the bar surrounding by who else, locals. This turned from trying something new to an episode of Cheers super fast! We laughed, and conversed, and had a good time to the extent we were really juggling whether to stay the night. But back to Asheville we needed to go. If you're in Cherokee anytime soon, definitely carve out some time for this cool little spot. Good, well-made, bar food. Awesome tasting beers and seltzers on tap. We'll be back to see our friends here!

The buffet is not normally something I'd chose but was where I ended up. I took it as a sign I was meant to be there. They have an entrance and exit door then the host or hostess will seat you. The buffet was $16.95 with drinks and dessert extra. This is a very busy place and they have two tables of 4 next to each other so different groups were seated at each 4 top. The buffet has one section for a salad, lettuce and toppings. Then the next section is hot foods with a variety of vegetables and meats. I remember potatoes, corn, fried chicken and meatloaf and on the end is a carving station for roast beef. But I know there were more options. The salad portion was ok but the potatoes and the corn were great. Then I had roast beef and really enjoyed that. They don't give big portions of it so you need to make a multiple trip. I did have some apples too and liked those. Service was friendly and kept my iced tea filled. I had heard about the pie so decided to get a slice of the peanut butter pie to go. The pie was ok and I wouldn't order that again. I'd return to Granny's Kitchen as the food was very good. I'd prefer ordering from a menu though rather than the buffet. But this is how they have it setup.
