We had a great experience! Cemone was our server and she was extremely friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome from the moment we sat down. The food was also very good. We ordered the "Say What" appetizer and the bacon jam honestly deserves to be bottled and sold on its own -- it was that good! The chicken wrap was also very tasty and full of flavor. Between the great food and excellent service, this is definitely a place worth stopping by if you're in the area. We will absolutely be back! read more

We really liked our visit to Native Brews Tap & Grill along the main stretch through Cherokee, NC. A bit further down the road, away from all the tourist shops, sits this sizable indoor and outdoor seating space brewery. Don't go past the light, or you'll miss it. Suggested to us by a local, we nestled up to the bar surrounding by who else, locals. This turned from trying something new to an episode of Cheers super fast! We laughed, and conversed, and had a good time to the extent we were really juggling whether to stay the night. But back to Asheville we needed to go. If you're in Cherokee anytime soon, definitely carve out some time for this cool little spot. Good, well-made, bar food. Awesome tasting beers and seltzers on tap. We arrived on Tuesday afternoon for somw food after a hike near by. We sat qithin 20 minutes. It was not overly crowded, pleasant chill atmosphere. Waitress was pleasant and timely. Food was not bad. I would not recommend the fried deviled eggs (I am not sure if frying made them... rubbery?) But the bacon jam was pretty good. Nothing was super bad, but nothing was exceptional. read more

I was visiting Cherokee for Thanksgiving and had dinner one evening at Native Brews. The restaurant was very busy so I had a short wait for a table but there was a comfortable bench to sit on, and if it had been warmer the front porch would have been nice too. Unfortunately they were out of the beer I wanted so I had the Sunrise Vanilla cream, a hard seltzer that tasted like a cream soda. Very sweet and yummy. For dinner I had the Chicken Caprese Pasta entree. The chicken was good and everything was cooked well, but the abundance of garlic was overpowering and it tasted extremely bitter. I usually love garlic but it was too much for me. For dessert I had the brownie a la mode, which was big enough for two or three people. Delicious though! Service was fast and my server checked on me several times as I ate. The dining room has a bar in the center and multiple televisions showing sports, but there is nice music to listen to. Service was solid. Food was meh. Bun on warrior burger was pulled straight from the bag. No warmth. A very non juicy burger patty was topped with a tiny, and I mean tiny, "fried green tomato". The FGT was so cold, it must have been frozen and flash fried earlier in the day then stored for quick heating and use. Couldn't eat it. There was a single thin piece of bacon on it. It was $18.99 with fries, which were overcooked, but freshly cooked. It wasn't bad food. Just nothing special. read more

This is a great place to visit! Service was very good. The atmosphere is very friendly and upscale. We enjoyed our night. I had the Trout and it was absolutely delicious. One of the two best ways I've had it prepared. (NC Peanut crusted trout, with a Shrimp Florentine cream sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, and fried Brussels). I highly recommend this dish - you can get any sides you want - it comes standard with garlic mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. That's what I stuck with and wouldn't change. The garlic potatoes were good as were the Brussels sprouts. However, the Brussels sprouts at Forager's (in Dillsboro and Sylva) are much better!) My wife got the Fish and chips. The fish had very good cod flavor, but the breading was a little heavy and possibly a tad undercooked. My wife peeled most of the breading off. I had a bite (with breading) and I agree with her opinion. We really enjoyed our visit to this restaurant, so we dined here a second time on our vacation. On our second visit, I got the Monte Cristo and my wife got the fried onion blossom. My Monte Christo was excellent, (it was heavy on the bread - as it was made with Texas Toast). I wouldn't order it again, but the sandwich was very good. (Next time, I'd get a burger - they looked awesome!) My wife's onion blossom was not nearly as good as the ones at Texas Roadhouse - but it was still pretty good - it's hard to mess up a fried onion. We enjoyed everything about this place - some of the food could be better - but it's an overall good experience. I would recommend putting this restaurant high on your list, when visiting Cherokee. read more

Sat at the bar wanting to just have a drink and appetizer. The bar tender was pleasant but seemed distracted multi tasking. I guess she never put in our onion blossom because it never came. She did check on it. Later on. We had set a time in our minds that we were leaving after voicing disbelief that it could take that long but then it came out . Her excuse was the kitchen is backed up. I should have listened to the review about the greasy onion blossom but we didn't. And yes it's very greasy. More grease than batter She did apologize several times but when i told her i had only ordered a beer for the onion and my beer was gone- she said well i can sale you another one - seems like since we had waited over 30 minutes for an appetizer she would have refilled the draft without hesitation -not that kinda place though. Cool spot! The restaurant itself is quite impressive with a large dinning and bar area. We did have to wait to get a table here. The service was good but took a little long to get our food out to us. We were doing a little gambling at Harrah's and needed something good to eat. My husband found this place on Yelp, and I think he did a great job! We started out with Fried Deviled Eggs. I wasn't sure what to expect, and I love Deviled Eggs, but these didn't quite work for me. They looked good though. For dinner I got the Pot Roast. It came with mashed potatoes and green beans. Our family of 12 was looking for a dog-friendly place to eat and we were definitely in the mood for some brews. Luckily we found this place, Native Brews Tap & Grill. They had great outdoor seating, with great views of the mountains, plenty of space for kids to run around, and outdoor heaters too. The service was good. The food was satisfying as well. Great portions. Usually my kids will eat everything, but they were beyond stuffed before they could finish their meal... So was I! Hence we went home with satisfied bellies! There were several things I wanted to try on the menu, but knew that wasn't realistic in one visit My kids had fish & chips, chicken carbonara, country fried steak. I had the Warrior Burger. Others in our party had salads and burgers. Everything looked great. Cocktails are my go-to, but because the place was called Native Brews and I was in town for vacation, I definitely had to explore what Native Brews was about. I had the Native Girl Pale Ale. Actually I had two. Had I known it was possible, I would have taken some of their canned beer to-go and have a few back at the cabin. I didn't realize this until I got home and took a look at their website. The inside of the restaurant was very clean and had a great vibe. I could see myself hanging out here with friends to watch a game. The ladies' bathroom was also impressively clean. I'll be back here the next time I come to Cherokee. read more

This place will surprise you! It is very low-key, right off the main street of Bryson City. You won't be disappointed with anything on the menu. Would never recommend unless you seek a Disappointing Experience all around. Hospitality is not their strength. Hostess at door provided pushback when asked to seat party of 10 together. Bartender was adamant about not serving an alcoholic beverage to anyone without handling a drivers license / picture ID, regardless of age (60+). Sample beers were served extremely foamy. Management quickly became involved when guest politely requested seating to accommodate 10 instead of "set arrangement" of 6+2+2. NO flexibility, no polite discussion explaining why (outdoor dining area was empty except for our group of 10), and we were all demanded to leave before we could be seated. We had to start out with Say What??? (fried deviled eggs with bacon jam). They were very tasty and the bacon jam on top was the perfect topper. My husband and I split the peanut crusted trout and the pecan pear salad. Portions were generous and we were both stuffed. The trout was phenomenal...very twnder and tasty! Paired with brussel sprouts which had a great flavor and extra tasty (especially when you dipped them in the sauce from the trout). The Pecan pear salad was really good! Very generous with all the goodies (pecans and raisins) and lightly dressed. Michael was great and kept us well taken care of. We will definitely be back the next time we come through!! Average experience, but a great way to stop and have a few beers and decent meal while you're in Cherokee. They told us 25 minutes but in fact we were sat in less than 10 minutes. Wait staff took our order quickly once we sat down, and was pleasurable, but hard to find at times. It was a relaxed atmosphere with a great selection of craft brews and food. Didn't seem busy but the food took over 20 minutes to arrive. When it did, it did NOT disappoint! Amazing portions and just good in general. read more

We arrived around 8:00, and were told there'd be a half hour wait. The place wasn't even half full. I asked why there was such a long wait and the hostess said one of their fryers was broken. We sat at the bar and were told we weren't allowed to order until our pager went off saying our table was ready. This was even if we wanted to stay and eat at the bar. We stayed at the bar and ordered our food after the pager finally went off. I ordered a burger, and my wife a monte Cristo. Everything was very greasy. While visiting family in Cherokee, we decided to stop in for a casual afternoon lunch after traveling about six hours and spending the morning at the Cherokee Festival. I had felt so welcomed at the festival and other small shops around town--but unfortunately, that feeling changed when we came here to eat. We dined in with our four kids, who were well-behaved and quiet. The food itself was really good, but the service left a lot to be desired. Our waitress never smiled, greeted us, or made us feel welcome--just short phrases like, "What can I get you to drink?" and "Are you ready to order?" When she came by once for refills, she spoke in a monotone voice and said to one of our kids, "Can you hand me the cup?" We're very friendly people wherever we go, so it really stood out how cold the interaction felt. I understand everyone has off days, so I still left a $30 tip and wrote on the receipt, "I hope you have a great day," because I was having one and didn't want it to ruin mine--but I could see how this experience could easily ruin someone else's. I'm not sure if the lack of warmth was because we were tourists or just bad timing, but considering how much this area depends on visitors, being welcoming should be a priority. Two of us had a beer each and an entree each, and the check was a bit under $60, which surprised us a bit. My Monte Cristo was awesome, as was (believe it or not) my wife's meat loaf. I really want to know the "secret sauce", behind the green beans that came with the meat loaf. They have a lovely sort of smoky flavor. My wife couldn't eat them all, so we put them in a go box and had them as a side with our home cooked steaks the following night. We sat inside, but they also have a large outdoor patio, including what I think was four lanes of cornhole boards. Possibly other recreational options, not sure. We will be back! read more

Tried to go in and eat....they told me I could not bring my service dog into the restaurant and I asked them if they were refusing me service due to my medical service dog and they said yes.
