I'm sad to only give this place three stars, especially after reading all the other stellar reviews. I had higher expectations. I came in here with my husband yesterday and there were two employees working, along with a couple customers. Every single person in the store stopped to stare at us when we went in. The judgement factor was off the charts here. It was extremely clear that they all thought we didn't belong there, and treated us accordingly. We wanted to use the range and rent the necessary equipment to try it out. I've never shot a bow, and so I wanted to learn and see if it was something I wanted to invest in. My husband hadn't shot a bow since he was in Boy Scouts. Awesome opportunity here. We dealt with Trent. I don't know the name of the other employee. But he got things going for us. We had to drag help out of him, it seemed. There was no customer service, asking if we needed help while exploring the store. We finally had to go up to the counter and ask for help. As he was setting up the range, again not terribly talkative. He seemed almost sulky, like a teenager being forced to do chores. I finally had to kind of force a conversation out of him, and it worked. At least he became moderately personable as he was setting everything up. After we practiced and used the range, I had a million questions. I still do because nobody seemed excited to talk to me about it. When we were done we went to pay our fee for using the range, Trent had the perfect opportunity to ask how it went, if we had any questions, or anything else. Nope, just took our money and said have a great day. That's it. The lack of customer service didn't make me feel welcome to ask questions, or that they would be taken seriously if I did. When there's an opportunity to teach, there's an opportunity for not only customer service, but to make a sale too. They failed miserably in this category. It's a nice store with a range, and lots of product. They also sell Black Rifle Coffee. I'm not coming in to buy it here, I'll buy it at 295 Tactical, but it's good to know they carry it now. There's a lot going for the store in terms of the range and product selection. Customer service, not so much. Would I return? To use the range, yes. To buy my bow, no. I'll go find somewhere where there is customer service to teach me and help me find exactly what I need. The Bow Rack is not that place, unfortunately. read more

My spouse and I drove 2 hours from Portland to have his Hoyt bowstring replaced & tuned and it was absolutely worth it. The shop's team is incredibly knowledgeable and kind! They made sure not only that we had everything we needed, but also took the time to properly tune up my spouse's bow before we headed out. I am a 49 year old novice(a virgin for those who aren't sensitive ) meaning my time with a bow or type or kind is none to zilch experience. When I went into the shop I was nervous because I am outdoorsy type of guy , and every single person in there was a was at some level of a lot of knowledge to knowing how to build and tune a bow from scratch, even the big Daddy himself, Wayne Endicott was there fine tuning some arrows for a customer. Well the young man who they assigned to me for getting the type of bow for me seemed not standoffish but more like unsure of himself as salesperson, but when it came to the specs for the bows are him, he was spot on. THey fitted me for the Mission Switch, which ironically i like better than the Bear Archery Cruzer G2 and the Mission MXR together, it felt light and comfortable and any kind uncomfortability I felt, I chalk up to me being nervous and tired(was exhausted from work) nothing they did at all. I will admit I have watched a lot of YouTube videos of Wayne, and I felt like a fanboy meeting his epic idol for the first time. I wish I had more time and he had more time because I would love to pick his brain, the knowledge he has is vast when it comes not only to bows but also hunting with them. It was easy to purchase my bow especially with the layaway plan they offer(10% percent down, and a 90 day window to pay it off, with some exceptions being allowed and time extended). I was told I can come in at anytime between now and the time I pay it off to practice with the bow, which I am going to do starting on Monday. For those who didn't have the stellar service I had, please give them another chance. I think you will be pleasantly surprised how gracious they are, and how helpful they seem to want to be. They gave me some great tips as to what arrows to buy and even said IF i couldn't find the arrows I wanted, they help me find them through someone else need be. I showed up about an hour and half before closing, they made sure that I knew I could take as much time as I needed even though I felt bad about being there that late in the day. Really was hoping for a good experience. We walked in a family of 4 who all wanted to purchase bows and equipment. We pulled up excited and as soon as we went inside we felt as if we were not welcome. I went to the desk and asked for some help and was told someone would be with us. We waited a while in the store and not a single employed said anything to us let alone even look at us. Time went by and we all began to feel as though we were just in the way. Like our existence in their store was nothing more than an inconvenience. It was a little surprising to me how unfriendly this experience was. I work in customer service and teach people how to skydive. I love skydiving and I love when people are excited to learn about my favorite sport. No matter how busy we are we always are telling people hello and we're excited to help them. And that's because sharing what I'm passionate about with someone is a great feeling. Plus when it comes to body flight, the customer better trust me, feel safe, and feel comfortable in my presence. I just don't understand why this place made us feel uncomfortable, in their way, and looked down on as beginners. All in all, each of us left disappointed but excited to go somewhere else. I can only imagine how hard it would be to grow the sport I love of skydiving if we made beginners feel unwelcome and hazed. In my opinion, if these people were truly passionate about their sport they would've been excited to help us learn. To not only grow their sport but their business as well. So we'll have to take our business somewhere else where we feel important. Hope this place has shift with customer care, especially new customers. so after moving clear across the country from mass to Oregon I didn't know anyone. After pulling into the parking lot 3 or 4 times I finally got the courage to walk in. Sometimes it's hard moving to a new place and having to meet new people. Let me say thank god this was the pro shop I walked into from day one they have been the best. Wayne Lisa and the whole crew have made me feel welcome everytime I go through the door and I go through that door a lot 3 or4 times a week I just recently got into a v3 that Lisa set up for me and I love it. Not a single person (except my party) were wearing masks after it became state law. Not staff. Not customers. No signs that a mask was required and zero social distancing. We tried to get help and were basically forgotten or blown off. Went to bow tech instead where everyone was naked and abiding by the law. read more

I would highly recommend this place! We are very novice in archery. We rented equipment and got a good amount of time on their range for 15 bucks a person. They also gave us one on one training and checked in on us through the whole time we were there. I think for anyone interested in learning this art should check this place out. Just moved to OR and wanted to get my wife set up with a bow package. We walked in 15 minutes before closing, the employee Wayne set up 2 bows for my wife to shoot and gave her a half hour lesson, essentially teaching her how to hold and shoot a bow. We ended up kicking ourselves out after they were officially closed for 30 minutes because we felt horrible about having him stay. He never once pushed a sale on us, a truly stand up guy. I have been a bow hunter for 3 years. I came in and was looking to upgrade my current bow. These guys are awesome, very knowledgeable and courteous. Chris help me out, he spent a good 40 minutes with me on bow selection and then started tweaking the bow to fit me. I had always struggled with accuracy. Imagine my surprise when they told me my draw length was 31 not the 29 my bow was originally set up for. Chris also worked with me on "do's and dont's" to become a better shooter. This place is amazing. One of the biggest things I've come to notice is that pro shops, gun shops or any shop for that matter who employ experts tend to come with large a superiority complex; making you feel defeated and discouraged for not knowing a lot about something you have a passion for. But not these guys. I flew from Los Angeles just to get a bow from The Bow Rack. The guys working here, the shop kids, even the customers were all so very pleasant. I must single out Chris though. Horrible experience. I purchased new high end bowstrings for my hoyt rx1 from them and also had them installed. They were overwhelming busy but the owner was not only rude to me but also to the female employee working there as well. I didn't have a chance to shoot my bow the day I retrieved it due to how busy they were and I had close to a 4 hour drive home. When I went to shoot my bow for the first time I noticed how unlevel my arrow was sitting on the rest. I guess my fault for not really thoroughly checking my bow out before I left but I trusted these guy's reputation.. I went back to have it corrected but failure once again with a little smoke blown... I will say the two younger guys working there I spoke with were super friendly and seemed to really want to help and get this figured out. The owner on the other hand wouldn't even call me back. I had heard that they are very reputable there but i have also heard the owner is quite arrogant. I got to witness just one of those first hand. fyi took my bow to another shop to fix the disaster. I also literally watched him more or less argue with a custom over the existence / non existence of bench legs, his theory and facts on the matter are about as quality as his workmanship and integrity. I went in there not knowing how to shoot a bow and was looking to get set up with one to practice for this coming season. These are the best guys bar non this shops attention to detail and helpful customer service was amazing. The owner I can't remember name was great with helping to buy a bow and set it up as well as proper shootings techniques. The Bow Rack is the place to go if you are looking for first class people that take the time to help you get what your looking for out of the sport. All of the crew have the talent you dream of when you think Archery pro shop. I have been in technical sales and service now for over 30 years and know a little about what it takes to lead the pack so I will say this, if I were going to staff a pro shop I would have the dream team the bow rack has now. I really don't think they have many customers that don't become friends so its easy to feel at home there, it's like you have family in the business! My wife recently went in to buy a gift card for me and after I opened the card she commented about how nice they were and how comfortable she was at the shop. I came to the bow rack with my 13 yr old daughter on the saturday after thanksgiving. I hadn't shot a bow in years and my daughter had never shot before. I wanted to get her fit for a bow and shoot a couple myself to see how the technology has changed. There were a few people in the shop looking around and a few couple shooting on the range, to be honest, I didn't really think we would get much attention on a busy holiday weekend unless we were obviously looking to drop a grand on equipment. I was totally wrong. Two young men (I don't remember their names) took an hour to help us both including setting up bows and providing one on one instruction on the range. We each shot a couple of different bows and got some sound advice on what to look for. My daughter had a great time and had a good first shooting experience. No hard sell, no attitude. This is the kind of personalized customer service you will not get at the big sporting goods outlets and just another reason we should all support our local shops. Although I now live 6 hours from Eugene, I would seriously consider driving back just to do business with these folks. Thanks guys! read more
