At one point, another party peeked inside and a young kid employee with an Afro came out and rudely waved his hands in a "what do you want" manner without saying a word. Two waiting parties immediately left, and we decided to do the same after witnessing that. Another party with a reservation waiting told us this happens regularly and that the staff can be rude. Whether that's their normal practice or not, it was enough to make me not want to give this place my money. We ended up going to two other bars nearby that the one party waiting there recommended and had a completely opposite experience, welcoming and respectful. Definitely disappointing and don't recommend wasting your time as there's so many other places to try.

I had brought a birthday cake and had to return to the host stand to ask for plates, a knife, and forks. What arrived was a stack of plates and a single knife. No forks. We waited about ten minutes, then ate the cake with our hands. Crazy. The bill came to nearly $500. As we were signing it, and as I was still finishing a drink that had reached the table only about twenty minutes earlier because our server had been absent, a man in a white shirt (assuming manager) approached and told us we needed to vacate the table for the next reservation. When I explained that we had not been greeted or served in a timely manner, he argued with me and insisted that we had been. For a large party, on a birthday, the service was inattentive and the closing interaction was dismissive and rude. My friends and I will not be returning!

She was rude and came off really disrespectful, and at one point said things that felt degrading. It made my boyfriend so uncomfortable that he actually left and went outside just to get away from it. Instead of calming things down, she got more aggressive and tried to intimidate me and my friend into leaving. She straight up told us to go and wouldn't even let me finish my martini. I had a long week and just wanted to relax, and that moment felt so unnecessary and frustrating. We still love Kitsch Bar, but that experience with Sofia was not okay and definitely left a bad impression. Hopefully it's not something others have to deal with.

As the night went on Kitsch Bar proves to be the hot spot I've heard about and I agree!

Went on a Tues night empty at first then became somewhat full. Archive was good although the bartenders weren't very knowledgeable on bartending and seemed to struggle a bit, even with pouring a beer correctly. Lived the prices and the excellent selection of both beer and spirits. A major major negative: shortly after arriving the male bartender plugged his phone into the sound system and for the next two hours played nothing but nonstop mid 90s/early 2000s hip hop....i mean really??? for two and a half hours nothing but that....can't figure why anyone would think that was sole music anyone in this type of bar want to listen to! Honestly it really made things suck and made is question if we would ever come back. good drinks at good prices barely made up for that misery. New decor looks good, lot cleaner than before. Must admit we can't figure out who they are trying to be. The new decor lens itself to a classy pre mid century feel, but is then contrasted with the 50s stuff in the showroom, contrasted with the pounding hip hop, mix of little bit of everything but not really doing anything in particular. Awesome happy hour special M-F 3-6 - BOGO drinks. They have wine, craft beers, and cocktails. Girlfriend likes the fresh fruit martinis. I like the assortment of craft beers and maybe a Grey Goose and Fresh Grapefruit juice cocktail every so often. I've only been here on the weekends so it's always been pretty busy - the music is a mix of the jukebox and mostly dance/hip-hop genre at night. There's a cool window where you can see some old school cars behind the bar - gives it an extra touch for The Boulevard theme. Right next to The Goathill Tavern - so if that's not your scene, you can lounge it up in a classier, more upscale spot with a different clientele. CAUTION!!!!! BECAREFUL!!! I walked out and tried to go back in to check on my friend. The security was very aggressive and didn't let me back in. I calmly explain to him that I needed to find my friend but he yelled at me and was threatening to assault/get violent with me. Hope the management and owners see all the complaints about this guy and do something about it. THIS IS A DANGEROUS MAN!!! I even tried to deescalate the situation (calm HIM down) but he started stepping at me as if he was going to put his hands on me. this man should not have the job he has. This is a fun bar with a good crowd. The bartenders are friendly and can mix old school coctails like Manhattans and Old Fashions well. The prices are reasonable. The music was a little too loud which made it hard to carry a conversation. As other have stated, the decor seems to be in conflict with itself. read more
