Minor crowd + good bar food. This combo is hard to Beet! Blue Beet is a dive bar that sits pretty close to the Newport Beach Pier. This spot is known for its multi level rooms, including a pretty cool rooftop area that overlooks the ocean. On a clear day you can even see Catalina! Despite being in a very popular area, Blue Beet is hidden in a small alcove. It doesn't get as much traffic as it's neighboring bars, which makes it the perfect local hang. They also serve food, which is a major win in my book. I ordered the chicken nachos and the pickle fries. Both fried munchies were made to perfection for a drunk stomach. I ended up sharing these with a group of 5+ and it was more than enough food to get the job done.

Sweet rooftop deck off the beaten path in Newport Beach. Decent food, bountiful sunshine, great service. Apparently there's music downstairs and it seems a little divey below, but the rooftop is sunshine and happiness and good vibes.

    So dirty

This is unfortunately a bad review :((( I love blue beet but they need to get cleaning. See pics for reference

Came here for some light night food and I have to say that the Blue Beet is a let-down, along with the high prices as well. I ordered a quesadilla, which came out to be $12 for a tiny portion. It was good nonetheless, but I won't be back here again! Beer is crazy expensive here as well, but I'm not surprised since we are at Balboa.

As we were about to order dinner (full meal, wine, the works), we were interrupted and asked to move down a few seats to accommodate another group. I declined politely--we were seated at the corner, mid-conversation, and already settled in. The alternative seats were directly next to the service area where staff pick up drinks--objectively a worse experience. The request immediately became an ultimatum: move, or leave. When I asked why, we were told the other group had been waiting longer. I then asked why they hadn't been given our seats in the first place. There was no clear answer. I asked to speak with a manager, who backed the decision. We were not causing a scene--we simply declined to give up our seats after waiting and beginning our experience. So we left. This wasn't about a seat. It was about being treated as expendable once you're already in the door. There are too many good restaurants nearby to accept that kind of treatment. Strong food doesn't compensate for poor judgment in how guests are handled.

The whole experience is what makes it special--the ambiance, the Latin flavors, the service, everything is on point. But what really sets it apart is the folklórico dance performance. You don't just eat here, you get a full experience. It feels like a beautiful little piece of Spain brought to Costa Mesa. The dinner is like a full three-course experience while you watch the dancers, and it's just so memorable and unique. If you're in Orange County, this is a must-visit spot--you really should treat yourself at least once. Also, if you stay after dinner, it opens up into a club and you don't have to pay entrance into the club. They have a nice bar outside, so the ambience is flowing Ali he with drinks. The evenings that I've stayed after they have two rooms OK they have a DJ room and then they have the band room, I don't know if they have a band every single night but the times I've been there they do and I like that you one room is very club vibe and then you can go into the band room and it's more like salsa lit up vibing. I myself still have a gift card for their café side that I'm excited to use soon and check out. Can't wait to go back this week.

People are actively moving therefore they breathe that disgusting stuff twice as much. And don't let me start on breathing that while eating! For me personally...I already ended up in the hospital, because of second hand smoking, once. And I really don't want to do it again. Also what would be handy...is another LIVE bartender. Whoever is there so far looks like he's there as a punishment. Wanted to order a drink at the bar and the guy totally overlooked me. and that's not the first time. So yes...if the place can fix these two things, it would be a way more pleasant experience for, as I believe, many. Thank you.
