    Steak Oscar. So yummy!
    Tracey S.

Came here for an anniversary celebration and we were not disappointed. We all had steak cuz we were told they had the best steak and they were right! The cut of the steaks were amazing and they were cooked perfectly! They come with roasted veggies which were carrot and zucchini with a couple broccoli, and a baked potato. You also get a salad but that's where they can improve. You get a plate that has a small handful of lettuce. We laughed actually at the amt we got. However if u upgrade to a Caesar u get a healthy amt of lettuce. The Oscar topping on my steak was also tasty but they give u a very small amt of hollandaise sauce so I asked for a side as well. You also get buns to start and man they were fresh! If u like Caesar's get their flight. It's fun and quite tasty. I also tried the nanaimo bar martini but it was way too sweet for me so I gave it to my MIL. Service was a bit slow; we were there for 2 1/2 hrs but didn't mind as we were able to have a good visit. I def recommend this place for steaks!!

    Medium-Rare--Perfect!

4.5 STARS My steak was cooked perfectly!! Hats off to the chef! We stopped by here to grab dinner before taking the ferry back to Vancouver. The restaurant decor was a throw back to the seventies. But it was clean. Our server was pleasant, friendly and accommodating. I had the top sirloin steak and lobster dish, a.k.a. surf and turf. As I said, my steak was cooked perfectly. It was medium-rare, but more rare than medium. The lobster tail meat was extracted from and placed on top of the shell. The lobster meat was sweet and firm. My daughter ordered the bbq baby back ribs. The ribs were tender and tasty. But, I think they precooked the ribs and finished them off on the grill. I guess ribs are not their specialty. My wife had the seafood linguini pasta dish with a tomato-based sauce. It was good and tasty. Price-wise, it's the same as any steak house. Most steak combo dishes are in the upper 20's and low 30's. Finally, I appreciated our server for understanding our situation. We had to be at the ferry terminal by 7:30 pm. So, she had our food brought to us promptly and didn't waste any time getting our bill together.

We had such a wonderful experience that we came back to celebrate our anniversary three years in a row. Funny enough, we always seem to get seated in the same booth and have had the pleasure of the same great service each time. The COVID years were the only time we didn't go. Tip: Order the tomahawk to share--it's the best dish hands down on the menu, in my opinion. The fat is perfectly charred, and the meat just melts in your mouth. Tip #2: Get the crème brûlée for dessert--you won't regret it. Must order: Brussels sprouts appetizer, green salad, Caesar for two, and the New York steak. Skip: Ribeye steak, escargot, and the seafood tower. Before the main courses, they provide a palate cleanser, which is a really nice touch. Reservations are recommended, but I've seen people walk in after an evening at the casino and get a table with only a short wait. There's a bar nearby where you can grab a drink while you wait.

Our server was young, but you could tell she knew her stuff. She kept our water glasses full along with all the other guests. The menu is pretty vast, without being too big. Plenty to choose from with a great sounding special and soup of the day. There really is something to please everyone. Our drinks were cold, and to food we ordered was great. The lovely K got the clam chowder and a starter Caesar salad. Both were very good with the starter salad being larger than most large salads we get. I had the Mediterranean falafel and the soup of the day which was split pea with ham. Both were excellent. The Stella I ordered was a full pint, not something I see every day, they are typically 500 mls. All in all we thought it was outstanding, and will most definitely be back!

Yelp maps said it was more than 2 kilometres away, so not sure what happened there. Moxies did not disappoint, and our server Shaye was absolutely excellent. Outgoing, friendly and very good at what she did. Even took the time to make sure K's veggies were cooked on the more well done side that she prefers. Kudos to the kitchen also, for making it happen, small details matter. Her steak was cooked perfectly, and the mashed potatoes very nice. My Beet salad was very well made although I prefer my beets to be a little more al dente. The blackened chicken was good, if perhaps a little over. I believe they use a seasoned breast, which is not my favourite. Our beverages were nicely made, that said wine is difficult to mess up, but a good martini is not easy. The decor is typical Moxies, they are all pretty much the same. That said familiarity is often comforting, and we certainly felt that way. We will be back for sure.

Served with baby zucchini, roasted heirloom carrots. The Cobb salad was very different than any Cobb I have had before. It was an iceberg head halved wedge style topped with whole slices of bacon, croutons, heirloom tomatoes, feta, avocados, capers, hard boiled egg halves with an interesting yolk filling, a tasty white sauce with a slab of grilled salmon on top. It was a very nice change. Dined in a spacious lounge off set from the crowded main room suggested by the host. Service was 5 star and it was excellent way to spend lunch.
